Yea I like this doll trophy. I was quite surprised they use it as an award; I always view them as exhibits / ornaments for display. It looks extra beautiful being held by Adam; firstly the golden exuberance against Adam's dark jacket makes it stand out. And then the smile on the doll's face is so effervescent just like Adam's. You can see Adam's face glow. He must be really proud; let's face it, this sure is eyes on the prize moment; honoured by China so steeped in art and culture not mentioning the 1.4 billion population. Regarding the trophy...it's a representation of an immortal being/spirit/high priest/or warrior. It is holding a long staff-duster. This spiritual being is reverenced for his power in chasing away evil spirits, as denoted by the duster; dusts away evil. Chinese operas delve quite a lot into the supernatural. Doesn't this word ring a bell. The flags donned by the figure and the feeler-like contraptions were the first features that caught my attention. They were worn by generals in battle depicted in Chinese opera. When I saw these features, it straight away brought back memories of my young days when my Mom took us to watch these battle opera musicals. Goodness, they sang from beginning to end; had no clue what they were singing amidst loud gongs and cymbals and circling the stage in their high platform shoes; exactly wearing this kind of regalia worn by the doll. Had to keep asking Mom to explain and she was so intent on the opera, she'd just say they were fighting usually the generals of two kingdoms. lol! I think this doll award fits Adam to a T. Adam is just like a warrior though he doesn't wear elaborate regalia but his voice is as good, if not better than those warrior generals, opera singers, wailing as they expertly strut in a special way, a dance, round and round the stage...chang chang chang chang toook toook chang! lol! Cymbals and gongs. The trophy doll is most likely handcrafted and the material used, dipped in gold. You can see the genuine subtle shine of the cloak worn by the figure. Adam really deserves this Best International Artist Award! Very very happy he got it because every time he gets nominated, he falls short of clinching the actual award. Okay I hope this suffices for the time being. lol!

You're welcome. Chinese opera is a very complicated art form; every component of the doll represents a symbolic quality. For example, in a Chinese opera, let's say a character commits suicide, the actor/actress steps down from a stool/chair and then leaves the stage; only those who enjoy such operas will understand its symbolic meaning. So I only base my interpretation of Adam's award doll on the little that I know.

From what you say it sounds very well suited for Adam as an award given he is into mythology and the ancient world.

Lam-my, thank you for your interpretation of the Award doll, which piqued my curiosity from the moment it jarred my western sensibilities and concept of what an award should look like. I had thought it so unlike any trophy I had seen before, so fragile in its structure, but so fierce in its representation.

With so many facets of Adam that shine--his vocal talent, his artistry, his humanitarianism, and his courage of conviction--the gilded trophy could not have been awarded to anyone else. Although Adam probably did not know all that it stood for at the time, the smile says it all, as if he already felt a kinship with the magical-looking figure.

I believe Adam won at the much music award and sang And sang WWFM about three years ago. Just found out he won in 2011 an award from Hungary same award he is nominated for again in 2013 now against Pink ect. Won a young Hollywood award received many humanitarian awards. Of course will be getting the DV award on May 11yea! But yes he has been nominated for a few he did not get like Gladd awards ect and he just so deserved this award. He loved in china no matter what anyone says and he really seems to like it there and enjoy the people and appreciate how well they treated him, and how well they have embraced his music.i am sure there am award or two we overlooked no one new he won the Hungarian one in 2011 until lately and some nominations overlooked too, woohoo his international status. This china award was a big one and he was obviously and understandably very happy about it. The award itself is quite different and very lovely. I am so proud of Adam and the Chinese people for knowing and honoring what a gem Adam is. It is nice and informative to hear the things you know about china Lam-my. Lol the Chinese award was just a promotion arranged by his management. No big star making money like Taylor swift for example is going to fly all way to china to perform. China is a very small music market.

Ir was given to him by the Chinese people and he also did Idol promo's while he was there. Adam is a some what if a big deal in china to quote a news article. Kesha, Rhianna and many more go all the way to Japan ect. All the time and perform so does Katy perry seen her in from Asia performing. They go to china and to Japan. At the sonic festival Kesha, R. Many more traveled and performed in Japan along with Adam this Summer. Katy perry performed Asia quite a bit, and china.china is a huge and even with piracy even if a fraction if the people buy it a substantial amount. If china was not profitable for Adam he would travel that fa, it is in many plains. He done the voice finale, will be on idol in may and the finale not to mention many oromo's for both the voice and idol. Not to mention is net game. You are obviously a fan of an idol that has not done so well so you down everything Adam does. Every award he gets no big, deal he does everything for free. Adam trespassing single was a big hit in china the DJ in Singapore said it had been in the top ten for months you have many, many fans here. He a DJ there u believe he knows. He received that award no management set anything up. ad is popular in china and growing and yes lot if piracy there but his album sales have done well there and the album was no one at first for couple weeks. He got lot more going ther that record sales, he has a net game you need to look it up they pay well for endorsements. He doing stuff for idol and doing idol finale and has done voice finale. He does have a growing fan base there. His also does TV there. His management knows he has growing popularity there and his nurturing it to make it grow. He dies have good success in Asia. If china was not a big market Idol started be Simon Fuller would not be starting up there!
