Oh my goodness...Adam is writhing and sliding and heaving; while his voice is soaring. I think it's really good toning for the body as well as the voice. I remember a long time ago, Andrea Bocelli demonstrated this lying on the floor position as the best way to sing due to more efficient breathing. But Bocelli didn't writhe about; his was very clinical. lol! Hey perhaps Adam was inspired by Bocelli who too can sing the life out of songs. Mmm I like his Besame Mucho a lot and many others.
@Lam-my Somehow I don't think it was Andrea Bocelli (who I greatly admire! One of my favorite songs ever is "Time To Say Goodbye", which is beautiful and makes me cry....) that was Adam's inspiration for his...moves.....on the floor here.. if you get my meaning ;)))))))))))))))) I suspect he was inspired by...something else.................................... I think Adam was more likely thinking "Time To Say Helllllloooo..." :))
I'll admit I was a little surprised Glee choreographed this move for Adam - tho' not surprised Adam was a natural at it! Ha.
Adam was brilliant as Starchild. So happy this character mirrors Adam in many ways. Perfect fit. Looking forward to seeing where it goes if Kurt ends up with Starchild as a Nemesis.
I loved the whole show. Hadn't watched in a while, and this one had me giggling from the beginning. Next week they're tackling Twerking. Glee really does take on current subjects, and serious ones like how teens deal with sex, with a lot of humor. Fun way to get kids to open up about their lives.
glitzylady Have you actually seen Bocelli demonstrating lying on his back on stage on Idol, many years ago. I remember he was the mentor or guest on that AI show. Adam might have seen that because he did say later he used to follow AI. But he might have known about that singing position, being a theatre geek himself. Bocelli explained, it had something to do with breathing and it was the best way to sing. I won't dare question that, coming from Bocelli. Subsequently a famous soprano, Angelina Kalahari, if I recall right, took it up and explained in great detail what Bocelli was demonstrating. I even remember Seacrest on stage when Bocelli lay on the stage to show the singing position. Definitely not those writhings and heavings which Adam used to spice things up...but the concept of the lying down singing position is the same regardless which song.
@Lam-my I believe you re Andrea Bocelli. And I chat with Angelina Kalahari sometimes.. She's a lovely lady. And a wonderful expert on all things vocal. I hope you know I was just being a little silly and **naughty**.. or trying to be... :))))
glitzylady Okay, no problem. When I read Angelina's article regarding this lying down position singing, she actually made reference to Adam about him lying on the stage singing, with his photo, if I recall well; and went on to say Adam mastered his breathing techniques. Well, we hardly notice it even when he stretches his singing to the max, like the stretching of the high notes. Coming from a renown soprano, herself, addressing Adam as master, it's definitely substantial. :)
Adam Way in comfort zone. I love the way he has always stands so true to he's heart. Adam's the real deal. The Glee cast are priviledged to work with the genius of Adam Lambert.
The only thing I can imagine about Glee not hiring Adam in the first place is Adam was a polished professional singer and performer. Glee to me is about ordinary kids although talented. Maybe Glee wasn't looking for a shining star however insane that sounds. Adam to me will always be above the rest. Some people might be afraid of the best. Luckily we are not! nancdruuu2
Oh please. Lea Michele was a very accomplished and professional singer who has been in many broadway musicals at the time she was hired for glee. Adam didn't get it because they had better people.
@5:44 Obviously it wasn't the right time or place then. 'Better people' stretches it a bit. Adam's always been outstanding and outshone everyone. It's the same old story I reckon of not what you know but who.
I guess its adam fate not to be hired in glee coz his truly path of fame is from american idol.i dont think adam wants to stick on glee forever.he used glee as platform to introduce his talent to people in hope that it can open more opportunity in acting.
Maybe if Adam had gotten the Glee job the first time around, he would have just been part of the group and not have stood out as much. Now, he arrives already well-known and successful. The expectations for him were already high and he really delivered. And yes, I pray that the Glee episodes grab the attention of the other media bosses who recognize his potential in music, TV, movies, whatever!
They couldn't have had better people, there is nobody "better" than Adam Lambert. Adam said, that the casting director said he was too old for what they were looking for at the time; I take Adam's word for it. Thank goodness he did not get that job; I would never have found our BB.
Lea Michele looks really young, even now. I think she and Adam were in Wicked together, if I am not mistaken, or some other play. She has said she has always wanted to sing with Adam.
Sometimes, it is how you come dressed to an audition. Trying to look the part is sometimes hard.
So glad he did not get it. Really too talented for that wonderful show.
I remember from his 2009 interviews that he auditioned for Finn character that was played by The Late Cory. He said then he didn't get the part because he was old to play a HS kid but they told him he has a great voice.
Adam didn't get the part because he looked too old. But nice trying to put it in a way that insults either Adam or the other actors talents. Roll eyes.
Oh please you have no idea why adam didn't really get the part or he was anywhere in the running. They no doubt auditioned many people. He does look too old. He also isn't a cute boy next door type like Corey. He couldn't pull off a romantic lead IMO.
Adam has been turned down for many things over the years. The queen musical, rock of ages, the lead role in wicked to name a few that we all know about. He isn't the only good singer in the world.
No, Adam is not a good singer, Adam's the best singer in today's pop/rock scene by far (voicewise, rangewise, performancewise, talentwise) and he is unsurpassed in singing/performing LIVE (voice, range, wail, glory notes, perfect pitch etc) and therefore the powers that decide often are skeeerrddd of hiring him, cause he outshines most of the so called 'superstars'... He is sooooo stupendously good looking and fantasticly friendly etc., yet also strong-willed and stubborn.
Adam Lambert, simply too perfect for his own good!
Doesn't really matter why Adam didn't get the part in Glee. Now he is "guest starring" on it because he is a star in his own right. Thank goodness for Idol...
That's show business...Or as Irving Berlin wrote... "Yesterday they told you you would not go far, that night you open and there you are....next day on your dressing room they hang a star...let's go on with the show".
I was not surprised when Adam said they thought he didn't look like a high school kid, he didn't and he was wrong for Finn....a sweet but slightly dumb jock. Cory looked much younger than his true age-the same as Adam I believe.
Adam is right where he should be and he's becoming better known each year.....building a foundation for a lasting career.............JAK

Oh brother
Bandwagon slitherer with hood... I'd rather see Adam slithering on the floor; sexciting! lol!

Adam wasn't singing laying on the floor. He said it's done just like a video. Record first then lip-sync it for the video!

And just to think Glee let him go once before. Bet they'll not be so hasty this time. Adam commanded the show.
Australia's always a lovin' Adam.
