JAK here....lovely little lady... 84......June began her Broadway stage career in the 1950's musical, Gypsy, with Ethel Merman.......June played a stripper named Electra!

Proof that many Grannies have LIVED!

I think he is 'channeling' Adam's former looks, the hairdo and the glasses. And "the fan" could be me in my nightgown... except I'm much bigger/taller and have no nightgowns....lol.

@JAK, thanks for the background on June. I had never heard of her before. I remember laughing my head off at Tim Conway when he was on the Carol Burnett show.

@JAK What? you mean we really weren't born grannies? haha

@6:06....JAK here....nope....but being a Grannie is the best job I've ever had. However, what some people don't realize is we had a LIFE before granniehood arrived! I had some interesting adventures, jobs and offers of jobs!

During prelims of the Miss Florida beauty pageant about a half a hundred years ago an agent from Las Vegas was recruiting for the big hotels...and offered me a job as a 'show girl' at The Sands....this was the days of 'Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford,
et al'......'The Rat Pack'....I handled it cool, in a very sophisticated manner.

I gasped and said "I'm a Sunday School Teacher!" In
my mind Vegas was Sin City and I was greatly insulted! I was a very prudish 21 yr old. Now, thinking back....it sure would have been a story to share with my g'son. He visits Vegas frequently, it's just another big theme park to him!

I really like Chris. I would watch a movie if he had a role in it.

JAK again....BTW....if you're heading to Florida for summer vacation, check out Universals new Diagon Alley at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and ride the Hogwarts Express into Kings Cross Station in London! My g'son is part of a team working day and night to open in June. He's such a big kid! Handed in his Megatron suit for a cape!
I think he and Adam might be friends... Both fanciful and stubborn as mules!.....

@JAK
that sounds amazing. I love Harry Potter, we went to the Harry Potter experience in the UK last year, so interesting seeing sets, costumes, finding out out how they did the effects. Such a good day out.

I like Chris's hair that way. I don't know if it fits his author image, but it does look great.

OT - I think that June Scribb was nominated at this years Oscars for her role in the movie Nebraska. Dont remember who won? Will definitely be watching Glee next week since the fabulous Shirley MacClain will have a roll opposite Blaine. Interesting casting. . . . Adamluv

I like Chris. He's immensely talented and I also think Adam had some influence on his current image. @ JAK, I can relate regarding grannies have had a life. I've also have had an exciting nursing career, taking care of some very famous celebs and was also offerred a job at Playboy at 18 while working at the Wrigley Bldg in downtown Chicago. I would have had to move to NY and like you, was very morally concious in 1958. My parents would have been horrified, even tho' the job was for a well paid receptionist. Nursing was safer and I had very interesting, rewarding opportunities. Some young folks think that when you reach a certain age you're supposed to fit a certain image, losing revelance in the world and should spend time knitting and only go to church functions. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm a long way from there. Most of us have seen and heard it all in life and have lived it, seeing all sides. Adam reminds us that we're not dead yet and can relate and appreciate his sex appeal as well as his astounding talent. He certainly has reignited my spark & reminded me that it's never too late to continue to live life and not to worry about conforming to a mold or what people think. We all have to walk our individual paths and I'm having fun walking mine, enjoying Adam and the many wonderful Glamberts that I've met. Hope all of you are living life as you see fit too. It's Adam's mantra..

@funbunn40....JAK here....I always enjoy hearing from you...not near often enough lately. I think our lives lived a few years apart and many miles apart...we're very similar .
Oh, how we've grown up! I enjoyed those growing up years, there was an innocence that was appealing, but also a simmering that led to social changes for the better.
