I caught that to. It was cool, even tho they showed Kris winning. Hope Adam performs at the finale with Queen.

Yes, hope to see Adam at the finale with Queen!

There's rumors that Adam might perform a duet with Caleb. That would be incredible! Crossing fingers for Adam at American Idol finale.

Anonymous said...

Caleb will be singing with KISS. Not a bad match

Anonymous said...

@6:51 Perfect match.

Anonymous said...

Adam sang with the finalist last year, so they gave someone else a chance!hahaa. I agree, perfect match for Caleb. Sorry for Alex, a true artist. I'm hoping for Jena for the win! I thought her rendition of "Creep" was amazing!

(p.s. Still could see Adam at the finale perhaps. Fingers crossed!

Are you kidding me? Now Adam on screen for less than a second is news???

Anonymous said...

Adam was a mentor with CD for two day special this year. He was on the finale last year and they featured him on where are they now. Next year he will have new music sure he will sing then. Time. To focus on Queen tour.

Anonymous said...

Caleb and Jena is gonna be the best finale showdown since season 8. Adam and Allison should have been in the finale.

Anonymous said...

More than likely Jena will win this. I like both of them tho.

Well, I once commented about that particular moment of Adam's dip in fate as likened to the sinking of the Titanic. It was so raw at that time so it was not done out of disrespect. I used that comparison because no one could do anything to stop it!
So hoping Adam will perform with Queen at the finale. I happened to be surfing my tv and accidentally chanced upon Jena belting, Can't Help Falling In Love / Elvis. That performance actually rivalled Angie/Adam's Titanium; no, she can't beat Adam but I think she did beat Angie with that particular Elvis song, in her delivery and emotion.
Both played the piano and wailed; Angie with a higher soprano but I was really impressed by Jena's more rounded medium-range soprano. Suggestion, perhaps these two could do a duet or Adam with Jena will do as well. Adam the sifu, will lead Jena like he did Angie and for that matter Allison Iraheta.

I thought Jena's titanium was terrible but loved Creep, the Elvis song was good.

People here are so stuck on AI. Adam was on 5 years ago. He has been back on the show every year since. Let it go people. I for one am ecstatic that he will NOT perform with Caleb on finale night. Adam is about to launch a major, major tour with one of the best bands ever in history, QUEEN! He's going to perform during a full-fledged tour with QUEEN people, QUEEN!! A sold out tour with QUEEN! That is a million times better for Adam's long-term career that appearing on a tv show finale (which he has already done several times, by the way).

Love me some Adam Lambert touring with QUEEN and working on his next album!!!! That's what I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO!!!

Anonymous said...

Yes!

Anonymous said...

Adam sang both with Kiss and Queen and killed it. I remember some DJs talking about it one day they were playing wWFM saying it was the best finale ever on American Idol like the best concert in town. Couple years later said it again and said they stop going to the finale a year after that. I sure it will be good but Kiss and Queen was quite a score.

Anonymous said...

7:34 I enjoy hashing over AI it is a reality TV program. Let what go? I think you better let it go we are just having a conversation here it doesn't take anything away from Queen.

Anonymous said...

The past always relates to the present and then these two times will launch Adam into the future. I like to feel/see the past, present, future as one; so do not be afraid of being "stuck" as long as one is able to feel free enough to talk about it; and in any case the video features all the past Top 2. Does that equate to AI being "stuck"?

I heard people most like the same person say many times say it was luck Adam and Queen. It was not luck it was his talent. His talent was one very big reason was at that finale. They heard both Adam and Two finalist sing that night and they were super impressed with the uber talent of Adam M Lambert it was not luck it was talent. Yes it's time to move on Adam and Queen is going to be Epic and I mean Epic. There are many good voices but Adam is just something special he got it all. He not just a singer of which he really is a master but he got many talents. Queen plus Adam Lambert going to be something else.

Anonymous said...

Yes, definitely it was Adam's singing that captured Queen; it seems some talent hunters sounded it out to Queen who were looking out for plausible frontman for their band...and by golly, they head-hunted Adam. lol! If you watch back We Are The Champions / AI, Brian kept looking at Adam and not so much at Kris. But I do think Kris did an excellent job with Adam and Queen.

Glad to see Caleb and Jena in the finale. Alex just seems lackluster and not much of a personality although he may do well as a recording artist. Who knows what will happen with both Jena and Caleb. Just because you win does not guarantee success in the music business. It seems to me that Jena being only 17 might appeal to the teen demographic who are the ones buying music and going to concerts. No Adam in the finale, but I did not think he would be there anyway since he was on last year with Angie Miller for that show. He also blew the roof off the stage with both Kiss and Queen and I don't think that even Caleb can match that.

Anonymous said...

It's not so much being 'stuck' but it seems like some people think that if someone is not on the AI finale every year, they have not succeeded in the music biz, which of course is totally wrong. It's almost an AI obsession for some.

Anonymous said...

Celeb is going to perform with Kiss. What a bummer!

Anonymous said...

I imagine that Adam turned down any offer to be in the finale, he is just too busy right now, rehearsing for Queen. It would have distracted him from what is most important to him right now.
He needs his full concentration on the songs, so that when he starts the rehearsals he won't be wasting any ones time by not knowing all the songs word perfect. He has a reputation of always being ready .

Anonymous said...

He has missed several opportunities this year, to promote his new music, by not getting anything done with his album. Let's hope he will have something ready for 2015.

Anonymous said...

The finalists are mediocre, at best, as the whole show was this season. I would be really surprised if Adam performed, although he may attend.

Anonymous said...

Yea, I had commented that QueenBert would not want to divert their attention from what is uppermost on their minds; that is give their real grand QueenBert Finale to round off their original AI finale. Moreover, the QueenBert tickets are mostly sold and may not even need AI's publicity. And as Brian says, it's not money per se with regard QueenBert; more likely Queen wants a crowning exit and who better than Adam to carry their flag as frontman; the real Finale for Brian, Roger and Queen as a whole not forgetting late Freddie...their Big Bang! sort of and perhaps their 50-year-span swan song together with Adam; like they sing, We Are The Champions! and We Will Rock You!

Lam-my

Anonymous said...

In an interview with Caleb a couple weeks ago he was asked who he would like to sing with on the Finale and he said Adam and Queen or another group called Soundcloud??? I may be wrong on that name but something like that...point being he didn't mention KISS. so maybe AI couldn't get Queenbert ( scheduling conflict or price) or maybe Queenbert didn't feel it was a good fit right now for Adam or them.

I'm kinda glad it worked out this way..to let Caleb sing with KISS although not his first choice.Adam doesn't need to be in a rock wailing match with Caleb. Let the light shine on Adam as frontman for Queen!

Correction

Should have been "Soundgarden"

Anonymous said...

Perhaps Brian and Roger, the two veterans do not want QueenBert standard diluted nor their complete concentration diverted. Brian and Roger are very selective and will only do a gig for the love of it and not just for publicity or money. QueenBert is a pretty massive undertaking and they never disappoint because of their professionalism. Frankly, they already got the 'goose' that lays the golden eggs. lol! More like gander but gander does not lay eggs; they fly higher, I think. lol!

On an Adam Lambert fan site to talk this much about Caleb and to even hint Adam should sing with him or QUEEN+ADAM should perform with him... makes me truly wonder what kind of Adam fans are you? Or maybe you truly are "stuck on AI" and change favorites each and every year?!!

I'm sure Caleb will have his own fan sites, maybe all you so strongly rooting for him should consider moving on to those sites asap?

To use sentences like the last sentence @8:03's post is no less than "sacrilegious" (in lack of a better word!) and makes one question how can you still call yourselves Adam fans??? Appalled.

Anonymous said...

12:32 do you ever get tired of hearing yourself talk?

Anonymous said...

12:58 leave her alone she doesn't have a RL, she feels important here.

Anonymous said...

Fans are enthusiastic about Caleb just like Europeans were about Conchita Wurst. Soon Idol will be over, lol.

Anonymous said...

Meatloaf and wurst.

Anonymous said...

I thought Jenas version of Can't Help Falling in Love With You was awful. It's a tender, longing love song as it was written, her spin on it was painful.

I think both she and Caleb are talented, I'm sorry to hear Kiss will be back. Adam was not a fan of theirs when he sang with them, I doubt Caleb is either.

Anonymous said...

How does this thread have so many comments yet the elevator pic of Adam has hardly any. Something is wrong here.

Anonymous said...

'LucK' for Adam performing with Queen!! HAHAHA! Total insult to Adam, Brian and Roger but who really cares with such ding dong talk.
Genius is more the word defining Adam...! AND Brian and Roger know darn well the awesome vibes of the Glambert!

Anonymous said...

Sorry to say, but this has been the worse AI of all time and was very surprised to hear it will continue next year due to such poor ratings.

Anonymous said...

Poor show this year. The whole vibe seemed to lack class.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I too, like Caleb, want to sing with Adam Lambert but it ain't going happen.

@7:34
EXCELLENT post!

Five years on
The video brings back AI days gone
For Adam, the runner-up...
Hardly did we have an inkling then
QueenBert will perform again
With Adam as Queen frontman
Proudly waving the QueenBert flag
Their alpha omega world-class act
Mmm, I Want To Break Free
Who Wants To Live Forever
A Crazy Little Thing Called Love
And much more of the above
Glamberts worldwide are jumping
On the wagon-train to be entertained
By three musical maestros
Whichever direction the QueenBert flag blows
Go Adam go...on with your show
Your powerhouse will lift your spirit
Your voice will permeate as we assimilate
As for those who can't participate
Well, by hook or by crook, we'll find it lwl!

First of all you don't know what Adam has missed. Second of all, he has had many wonderful opportunities this year which has kept him quite busy; and many more to come! Sorry, you sound very silly by saying he is not getting anything done with the upcoming Album; he said that he is working on it; what more do you want?

Also, the Queen concert activities and all the good things that come from that to view and enjoy, should keep you quite busy until he releases the Album he says that he is working on. Go listen to LMD, he sounds so sexy on that!

Let's hope that you will accept the fact that Adam and his Management will handle his career; and that you will accept and enjoy, his wonderful gifts that are yet to come! Just relax and enjoy!

Anonymous said...

10:30pm oh please STFU, it gets old and is so obvious

Anonymous said...

Well it is too bad he couldn't get it together enuf to perform a single on idol. Next year there will be no results shows so he probably wont have that opportunity. And idol was his only chance of being on prime time

Anonymous said...

Honestly did it ever occur to you Queen+ Adam, or Soundgarden Do Not Want to perform. I can see Adam maybe doing it out of loyalty to the show, but only if time permits.

I do believe Glee was prime time. Quite sure he will get GMA, Ellen and some prime time when his album which is actually going to be a real album comes out.

Byu Lyndsey Parker "While Caleb represents an archetype very popular among loyal Idol viewers — the Adam Lambert/James Durbin-esque rock 'n' roll showboater — a true theatrical headbanger has never actually won this show"
Two thing wrong with this statement.
1. James Durbin is no Adam Lambert.
2. He is not a showboater.
Hmmm....having second thoughts on #2..He does know how to move to get our attention. :)

@5:35 AM
Adam has it very together. You are always dripping with negativity; don't you ever get tired of trying to put Adam down? You should get some kind of hint that it is not working by now; and you really sound quite stupid saying that Idol is his only chance of being on prime time! Adam can't get any more prime time than Queen + Adam Lambert; Idol is not the only game in town for Adam right now and neither is television. There will be plently more opportunites for Adam to be on telelvision besides Glee, and presenting at the award show last week; and hosting Divas a couple of years ago; and he will have many more opportunities.

The year is not over; Don't worry, if Idol is not fortunate enough to get him this time because of Queen obligations they will try again when his album comes out. When Queen is over and the album is out; you probably won't be able to turn on a TV set without seeing this gorgeous talented man! So enjoy, the best is yet to come!!!

I don't think Brian and Roger are fond of the singing competition shows in general and would probably prefer not to be on AI again. They went on in 2009 because a friend of theirs got them interested in Adam and they knew he was worth it. They realize Adam got discovered on Idol, but I think they'd rather leave it alone and move forward. A guest appearance on Idol has had marginal benefit at best. I'd prefer to see Adam sing alone on the finale than sing a duet. In any case, I don't think he'll be on the show. Hopefully, he'll be busy with tour prep.

Queen performed on American Idol in 2012 to promote their Extravaganza Show.

Anonymous said...

5 59
Well glee isn't about promoting new music, and adam isn't on glee anymore so that's irrelevant.

6 10
You clearly don't know what prime time means.

Anonymous said...

I think Queen did do Idol because of Adam, as well as Slash, who pretty much said that on air. Go back and look at his comments when he was mentoring Rock week.

Anonymous said...

Caleb is no Adam Lambert, sorry.

Anonymous said...

6:36 a lot has changed with AI ratings since 2012. TV viewing in General has changed greatly for the past couple of years.

Anonymous said...

I feel Adam is not quite out of Glee altogether; he'll probably be a guest star in the final season; he sort of broadly hinted in a recent tweet that he likes being a tv guest star; may or may not be sending out some vibes regarding his return to Glee next season. Mmm, the return of Elliott perhaps in a convoluted triangle of looove. lol!

I never heard anything from queen that said they did it because of adam. Slash, yes.

Anonymous said...

Let's think a bigger picture of Adam's exposure. I know soccer isn't as huge of a sport in US as it is like a religion in other parts of the world. What if Queen after 30 years is headed to Rio to perform at World Cup!? Do you guys understand billions of people watch this sport around the world? Do you know sport viewing ratings hasn't changed much compare to prime time program ratings? What if Queen's announcement is this?

Anonymous said...

7:06 are you going to any Queen + Adam concerts?

Anonymous said...

There are bands that would "suit" Caleb's voice & style (or lack there of) but most rock bands won't touch Idol...even with the longest of poles!

ADAM's VOICE, his talent to use it and his persona are the reasons why Queen, Slash, Meatloaf and some other great "fearless" rock musicians appreciate, support him and wanna work with him (in spite of 'the stigma of Idol' as his platform).

ADAM was/is a TRUE rarity among all these music reality show contestants. Never forget that.

Anonymous said...

7:24 totally agree. Even during the show Katy Perry wore a cape with Adam's name on it. Adam is the exception, but he also has said that Idol did give him that break, and I feel is is loyal to that show, and may perform at times if he can. He is not one to forget where he came from, and I mean that in a good way. He is loyal person, rare these days.

Anonymous said...

7:24 yes I agree. I hesitated to use the word stigma but it is very true. Great that some high level music people aren't afraid to support adam. It could be risky.

6;51 AM. Are you going to compare every male singer who comes along the rest of your life to Adam? How shallow you will live.

Anonymous said...

1:17
I'm not 6:51, but what do mean by shallow? I know that as a singer and performer Adam is on top of my list and after listening to his singing it's gonna be really hard for anyone to top that position! Having found the best, of course you 'measure' how some newcomers (or current "stars" or "oldies") compare to his singing talents. That doesn't mean that you can't like someone else, too. But if you are honest you will end up saying: No match to Adam's voice and persona...

Anonymous said...

1:55 AM......Hi!......1:17 here..aka JAK ...Yours is a good question. After I typed "shallow" I had a momentary thought "Will anyone 'get' what I mean. But the comment was already printed.

I'll try to explain. Adam has a gifted singing talent, but I feel always comparing and searching for a clone would be living shallow. There are other golden rich exciting types of voices. Gravely, gruff, tenderly sweet, soaring operatic feats of magic, warm comforting country voices, loud raucous rock screamers.

Music and singers are and should be as varied as a painters palette of colors. If you were to only listen to one singer you would be living in a shallow manner. I think you need to dig in and discover you can love other voices as well.

You got that part I realize "that doesn't mean you can't like someone else too"..... But I disagree about "if you are honest you will end up saying: No match to Adam's voice and persona".....I don't compare other voices to Adam ever... I don't want another Adam I have one (thank you God)......I want someone different to also admire and enjoy. I want to dig deep into my music life and find other gems.

I hope that makes a little bit of sense! :-)....JAK

Anonymous said...

@JAK, Hey!
Your posy makes a lot of sense. Had no inkling the post was from you... I guess the word 'shallow' threw me off...usually I recognize your untagged posts...he he.

I hear what you're saying and I agree. I should have written "if I'm honest... " etc., not generalize or provoke.

I have a long history of loving music of various genres and 'persuasions', of very different artists from various time periods and styles, music in general. But I go by ear and gut, know nothing of music for real (don't sing or play any instruments)... And even though music has always been an essential part of my well being there was a very sad & dark period of several years in my life when even music, all kind of music faded away... Until I literally stumbled in to Adam or to be exact, his voice. The story so often heard on Adam fan sites, he truly made me listen to music again...

But Adam did more than that. After having followed him everywhere on the AI Tour 2009 night after night (via vids, his voice, those clise ups....) I just woke up to the fact how few can truly sing well LIVE and how few have "that something extra" in their voice! (here my words and knowledge of music & vocal terminology fail me, but I'm sure you know what I mean).

So music has been back in my life for real 5+ years, the same 5+ years I've been an avid Adam fan. Having heard Adam and after listening to his voice for soooooo many hours I honestly can say it's not easy to find or 'accept' new favorites... Not comparing them directly to Adam, but I've become more choosy, more demanding and more selective. So far I haven't stumbled upon anyone who would come even near the interest level I had and have for Adam... but I do listen lots of music again.

PS. This we share, I believe... I'm one of those fans who wishes Adam would one day perform Sweet Child of Mine... UNF!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

2:17.....yes indeed!.....both Sweet Child of Mine and Since I Don't Have You.....Ahhhhh....I can hear it now!
Pardon me while I melt.....JAK

PS....do you like Darren Hayes? He's my sleepy time soft singer....Insatiable.....I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You....Truly, Madly, Deeply...I Miss You...I Dont Know You Anymore...I Just Want You to Love Me
He can wring a lot of emotion from a ballad!
