Great interview. I watched it on another site. From his wiki page .... Glenn A Baker is a journalist, commentator and broadcaster well known in Australia for his vast knowledge of rock music.

Nice positive comments about Adam. This guy seems to get him pretty well. Most of these "heritage" bands don't need the money, but they still have the fire in their bellies and want to do what they love to do. That adrenaline rush they get from the crowd and the love they feel for the music are just things they cannot give up. And why should they?

whatever these heritage bands do now is a poor imitation of their former glory. At least the stones have mick but without freddie it just isn't queen. I think it's just a huge mistake for Brian and roger and I really don't understand why they are doing this. For adam, of course, it's a nice summer job and he will never make this much money again. So I hope he enjoys himself and appreciates how lucky he is.

@7:08 AM I don't expect you will ever understand what it is to follow a passion.

Brian May wrote a lot of Queen's songs and he has said he really wants to keep playing their music - he's a musician - you don't just stop. And he's probably in the top six of best guitarists ever - and so to keep playing you need a band and you need a singer. I'm stoked to see him on guitar!!!! Almost as stoked as to see Adam give us his best up there. Lots to be happy about!

Brian and roger can follow their passion by both creating new music, by creating new ways to perform queen music as with the queen extravaganza and theater shows like WWRY, and by honoring their legacy as with the new album featuring Freddie's vocals they are putting out later this year.

They have plenty of ways to follow their passion without demonstrating to the world that they are 65 year old men pretending they are 30 years younger, and that no one can come close to being the front man freddie was. I just hope this whole spectacle is not a huge embarrassment to everyone involved.

I personally never ever cared to buy or listen to Queen music, other than hearing it on sports event or other places. Thanks to Adam by being involved with Queen, I bought bunch of their albums and watched documentary videos of Queen on YouTube to get to know Queen more. By doing all this now I know about their greatness thanks to Adam.

@7:35 AM It's really hard to believe Queen does not share your wisdom and knowledge of life and the music business.

Lol, not that it's any of your business or at all relevant to the topic but I have spent my career doing medical research on Alzheimer's, cancer, aids and heart disease. I'm quite satisfied with what I have accomplished thank you. Sorry to disappoint you I'm not selling hamburgers or greeting walmart shoppers.

It's sad to see these kind of silly defensive comments. You should grow up.

So what is it that you're lacking, cause you are one of the worst downers on this site...not to mention your constant belittling of Adam! So pathetic!

Freddie had an amazing mind, and was a complete diva performer. He did what ever he wanted to do on the stage, and the crowd loved him. He was a good singer, and enjoyed singing, but he has become so much greater in all things since he died. This happens to a lot of performers. They suddenly get 100% better after they died. Not putting him down, just stating a fact. He had and still has a lot of fans.
Adam also is a great singer, and a diva to boot. He has many fans who love him, he also loves the stage and does what he wants on it, and the audience loves it.
What a tribute to Freddie, to have someone who is as good as Freddie, if not a tad better, play homage to Freddies memory.
I think Brian and Roger, know exactly what they are doing to have this tour. They want Freddie remembered and known to this younger age audience. There are still thousands of younger people never heard of him or the Queen music. Through Adam they are able to educate the younger generation, as to what it was like in the hey days of the 70's and 80's. Adam is the perfect choice to bring this music to light and give it a new life. At least that's what Roger and Brian think, and they think Adam is the ONLY person who could do it.
Yes it is a nice summer gig for Adam, but if you ask him, it is way more than that, he is honored and humbled to be asked to be on stage with Queen, and does not take it lightly. There is a mutual love and admiration between the three men, and it shows. Adam has never copied or imitated Freddie, he only sings the Queen songs for the enjoyment of the audience, and they all love him for how he has portrayed himself.

@8:17 AM Well that all qualifies you to know how to run the music business and be a great humanitarian that can be admired by all.
What did you say your name is and where can we see your credentials?

@8:17 AM good to know your not working in a job that puts you in contact with the public.

That was exactly my reaction when I got introduced to Adam on Idol: "Oh, he's like Freddie, isn't he?"

Now...Adam is Adam, and he will sure bring his own irresistible flavor to the show. He's got what it takes: Stage presence, vocal capacity and the "it" thing...just like Freddie.

Nice to see confirmed that there's big $$ to be made from a tour like this. Still, we all know that money was not Brian's and Roger's motivation to do this gig. Adam just proved himself too convincing a frontman to resist one more run :) I can only imagine that Adam is over the moon. Well, he has expressed his gratitude numerous times already.

Anne Marie, thank you for your comment. Love this:

@ 7:08/7:35/8:17 AM

JAK here......I really don't understand the purpose behind your comments. It seems obvious to me that since Brian and Roger probably are financially secure if they live to be 200, that they are playing for the joy of it.

It's hardly our place to tell them how to follow their passion, they seem to operate on many levels quite well.
And, in what way are they pretending they are 30 years younger? I think their age is pretty apparent. The drum kit and guitar don't in any way show their age. Roger is as good as ever and Brian makes the guitar do his bidding just like he always did.

Freddie's gone, they aren't. Freddie was an original, a superb showman. The band has now chosen another original they love to work with, a fantastic singer who can do justice to their songs.

Would you appreciate being told your work life was over...when there are still mountains to climb in research?

Shame on you for the crack about selling hamburgers or being a WalMart greeter. I'm quite sure those who do those jobs are loved and appreciated by their families. We all contribute to society in our own way.

I never call anyone a troll.....but I see only a desire to create dissent in your comments. Are you having a bad day?

@8:17 AM I might have been impressed by your resume but you rendered it all worthless by the fact that you have to belittle others to make yourself look good.

As an administrator on this site, and the one who posted this "Morning Show" as a thread topic, my first inclination was to delete your comments..

HOWEVER... I left both of your posts so that I might have time to think about what you both said, without posting a grumpy and defensive reply, as much as that was my initial reaction.

I just have a couple of comments, and a question or two for you.

The remaining members of Queen are still in top form musically and intellectually. Physically, they may have some problems, but they're still alive and kicking, and can still do what they love, which is play some amazing and legendary music, and do it WELL from what we've seen. They've demonstrated this quite well over the past 2 years, in multiple performances with Adam Lambert.

Those performances include the European Music Awards show in 2011, the limited European tour in 2012, which included the concert in Kiev at the World Soccer Event, in front of a crowd of 250,000, 5 additional concerts in Europe, including 3 in London. And last but not least, the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in Sept. 2013, which got rave reviews from Rolling Stone, Billboard, etc.. AND attendees of the concerts. Which ultimately lead, due to high demand to see more of Queen + Adam Lambert, to this evolving-as-we-speak World Tour.

These events, from all reports, have been extremely well received, by Queen fans, the media, those who are professionals, who are in music and know a thing or two about what good music is, what talented musicians are, what a good singer is, and certainly by Adam Lambert fans, fans of both (like me) and even by some die-hard Freddie Mercury fans.. Undoubtedly there are those who will never accept any other singer... I get that, and that's fine, and they have every right to do so.. but to post those comments on an Adam Lambert fan site doesn't make a whole lot of sense, to be honest, but whatever...

A question: have you actually attended one of these live concert events?? So that you would have the personal experiences to suggest or assume that they would be a "poor imitation of their former glory"?? From all reports to the contrary, they are still in top form, albeit older. They are not old men trying to be young.. They are seasoned musicians who continue to love what they do, and they do it very very well (IMHO of course..)..

That said, you DO have a right to state your opinions. But I would hope you might postpone your judgements, if you can, until you can experience this "Once In A Lifetime" tour for yourself, live.. I'd be curious to see what you say then.

By the way, I'm personally a long time Queen and Freddie Mercury fan. And more recently an Adam Lambert fan (5 years..). Freddie Mercury was a phenomenal singer and performer.. No one can "replace" him, and no one is trying to do that.. Adam Lambert has stated many times that he is MORE than honored to be asked by Dr. May and Mr. Taylor, to sing the songs, and he has also repeatedly and humbly stated that he will do his best to honor Freddie's memory by bringing Freddie's/Queen's music to arenas across the world once again. And of course he appreciates just how extremely fortunate he is to be doing this tour..

Continued from above:

A personal note, which can perhaps legitimize my comments: I was at the iHeartMusic Festival in Las Vegas last Sept. My main purpose of going (although I enjoyed all of it!!) was to hear the great musicians of Queen in a live setting at least once more.. They did not disappoint. They were not "embarrassing" themselves. Far from it.. They had minimal staging, with an accomplished singer, and that's not just according to me. Billboard stated "Queen brought the house down" , Rolling Stone stated "Lambert astounded the audience". It also brought tears to my eyes, and in a GOOD way..

I am positively ecstatic that I'll be able to see Queen + Adam Lambert again this summer, with a full 2 hour concert. The 35 minutes that I, and 15,000 others who were at the iHeart event, saw and heard was awesome, but just a very enticing taste of what we'll be hearing this time around..

Feel free to respond... :))

Anne Marie, Loved your post. It was heartfelt and touching. Yes, indeed Adam is honored and humbled to be chosen for this tour. Adam is indeed the only man who could pull this off, with grace and dignity.

Why do some of you keep picking on one person. What good comes from it. Best to ignore, it makes you sound just like a troll.

Anne Marie and Glitzy..thank you both for your on point assessments..and to the naysayer..what has age got to do with anything..Brian and Roger are still vital men able to perform at peak levels..and don't forget, Roger's son Rufus is playing with them now...B and R are very intelligent men as well and I personally don't see them stopping performing any time soon..hopefully, they, with Adam will perform more in the future..I want Adam to have a successful record released as soon as this tour is over..meanwhile, I am looking forward to seeing my man live in July..Go Adam and "GO QUEEN" !!!

Certainly then, with your illustrious career, you must have something far more important to do than spend time on a fansite only to mock the celebrity it promotes, his wildly successful projects and his fans?

I don't think Adam's voice is a tad better than Freddie Mercury's voice but you're entitled to your opinion. I'm a huge fan of Adam but there will never be another Freddie Mercury and Adam never claims to be.

Comments shouldn't be deleted because posters have a different point of view to others. Surely a troll is someone who mocks Adam and everything to do with him.

Just to let you know: I rarely delete comments. I don't delete comments just because I don't agree with someone. I only delete the truly mean, ugly, disrespectful comments. A couple of these on this thread were borderline, in this case to Brian May and Roger Taylor.. But as you can see they are still here. I'm not that shallow or vindictive.. or quick with the delete button. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Including you and me... :)))

@7.08 and 7.35sm

I was lucky enough to go to 2 of the London Queen/Adam shows....and I would just like to put your mind at rest...fear not, despite their age Brian and Roger (and Spike), still have 'IT' and can, an do out rock. out perform and out sing most younger/current/modern acts.

If you don't agree with it, fine don't go to any of the shows. Its your loss, not Adams, and not Queens.

I liked Queen growing up, I'm British so grew up with their music, have several of their albums...but I was never a big Freddie fan. Yes I thought he had a great voice, but he didn't do much for me, always thought he was a bit weird.
But Adam singing Queen songs has spoilt me, I no longer enjoy listening to Freddie singing them, I only like Adams versions...I just prefer his voice. (and everything else about him!!!)

@glitzylady/@admin

For the sake of this site and it's future you could confirm
- is the poster of all three posts, @7:08-@7:35-@8:17, one and the same?
- if so, is this the same 'lol' that has been a pain here for way too long?

Cause if the answer to both questions is yes, this poster is not worth those long eloquent posts by many, including yourself, no matter what he/she claims to have done professionally. Saw that you chose not to include post @8:17 in to your comments...

Personally don't care who these 'lols' are, what they have done or not done professionally. Just saying that something is wrong if a person gets pleasure (or feels compelled) to write these demeaning comments on fan sites, in this case on Adam's fan site, over and over again...

Somehow don't think you will get a proper respond from 'lols'.....
