Adam is busy working with Queen? Is that the excuse or explanation here? I doubt that's the real reason. Adam has no new music to promote. Last year he performed with Angie at the finale. That was brilliant. This year everyone was speculating that Adam would duet with Caleb at the finale but he's performing with Kiss. A much better fit for Caleb IMO. Yes some were saying Adam should've performed with Queen for tour promo. That seems unnecessary. Most of the tour dates are sold out. There are endless hypothetical scenarios that one could come up with. But the I'm just gonna stick with the facts

Sounds to me from that answer from Management; that management might not think it's the best time for Adam to be on that show; because he just might have more important things to do! Just saying!

It would have been amazing to see Adam perform on Idol again, but I don't think he was a good fit for any of the finalists. Adam did the KISS finale and I don't really see Caleb doing any thing better than that. He was great last year with Angie because he came in so quietly to perform with her and that number stole the show. I realize that Idol is not all about Adam, but it would have been nice to see him one more time even if he is in the audience since he was a mentor on the show. I guess he might have started rehearsals for the Queenbert concerts and that is where his focus should be now.

I for one am glad he is not! The level of quality on that show is way beneath him at this point.....let's face it Adam broke AI.... Worst talent on there ever!

Well I can't wait to see this beautiful man with Queen; don't need any unneeded distractions. Adam and Queen will take the world by storm. Leaving eyes and mouths wide open at every venue. I cannot wait. I am so proud of Adam M. Lambert. Never ever tired of seeing him. He just brings the excitement and beauty and sexy, everywhere he goes!!

I agree with you 100%; did not know someone else felt the exact same way that I did! Like another poster said; "he is above and beyond that show now!!

Maybe Adam's Management and Idol could not agree on something regarding Adam being on. If that is the case; I love the way Adam's management looks out for his interest. I have seen how protective they are of him. I think that he probably listens to them closely knowing that they have the best interest of his long term career!

I think we have to remember that theAmerican Idol finale is not all about Adam Lambert. I would love to have seen him perform on the show, but for whatever the reasons, he will not do so. The Kiss and Adam performance was special and I don't know how Caleb will top that. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I would like tohave seen a more recent group rocking it out with him, but it probably wasn't possible to arrange. I personally think that Jena will win. I like her single and she will appeal to the younger members of the viewing and listening audience. However, it doesn't mean that even if you come in second or third that you will not have a successful music career. Time will tell if Idol produces any major recording artists from this season.

Let's face it; Adam would have brought the class, beauty and star power from one of their own alumni. Excitement and ratings follow Adam whereever he goes.

This is going to be Adam's best year ever! Don't believe me? Meet you in December and we'll compare notes! Everything is being set up this year and 2015 much more excitement; then Boom, he will no longer be denied!!!

I am not watching Idol next week, can't stand KISS. The top winners do get a nice hunk of money, and a new Ford car, just as Adam did.
If Adam is ever on it again, I might watch it. But that won't be until next year.

I just watched Adam's performance with Kiss on the Season 8 finale. Nothing is going to compare to his leather outfit, platform boots, metal wings and his gorgeous looks. It will be interesting to see what Caleb does with them. Maybe they tried to get Adam, but for whatever the reasons, he couldn't or didn't want to be in the finale. This entire season has been a big disappointment for me to watch so not having Adam on for the finale, just is another one to add to the show overall. He would have added such excitement and power to this final show. Good luck to both contestants as they pursue their careers in music.

I have two reasons that I'm a just a little disappointed that Adam and Queen won't be on the Finale..

1. I always love seeing Adam on TV (or anywhere else for that matter).. and

2. I also think it would be great promo for the Summer Tour..

But oh well.....

The first reason is admittedly selfish on my part, but one can dream, right?? ..But the second one truly is just wanting the best things possible to come Adam's way...

Obviously the Idol Finale isn't about Adam... but I would have been happy to see him for sure!!!! (My wish was REALLY that it was just Adam + Queen with none of the contestants singing with them.. another selfish wish :) That was a long for sure..but why not dream big???!!!

And just one more little thing: I want people to see just how fabulously talented Adam is (for HIM, not for me..).. again and again..and again... American Idol is seen all over the world.. Pretty nice worldwide free promo for Queen + Adam Lambert AND for keeping Adam in the spotlight..

What Country is our handsome man in? If he is here in the States; will he be attending the Bill Board Awards Sunday? I have been seening the advertisements and I swear, the same old singers that were at the other one that Adam presented at. Pit Bull, JLo, and on and on. Lord have mercy.

One day, I hope in the near future; the fabulous one will return as an entertainer at some of these show; then, watch out world!!

If I watch this show; I honestly will be pushing myself, without Adam being there in some capacity. Adam has ruined so many shows for me since he came into my entertainment watching life. I just find most others hard to watch now. I am serious!!

AI is so off my radar now. As much as I love seeing Adam do just about anything, I'm not upset about him not being on the finale. He has bigger fish to fry right now. He's paid his dues to Idol and he has already been on as a mentor twice. I want the tour to be kickass with great reviews wherever they perform.
Looks like Sony's Best Of cd is doing well. That's good! Shows that Adam's fans love him.

It certainly did. But, this is not the same as before. It is taking place here in Adam's Country and around the World. Also, it is getting lots of promo. This is being billed as Queen+Adam. The tour that Adam joined Queen with in Europe seemed more like him just joining them. This appears that they want Adam to have the same billing as them. It will make a big difference, you will see! So thrilled for Adam. This is going to be a game changer for sure!!

If the show continues, I think Adam would be on again. This year just isn't a right fit and he's too busy. He did spend 2 full days there as a mentor. He's not the type to feel he's too good to be on.there again.
Right now he has this golden opportunity to front IMO the greatest rock band there ever was. This is massive, and a huge commitment, and he's also working on new music.

So lame of Idol to bring back KISS, lack of imagination and bad planning!

I'm over the moon happy Adam is not singing any duets, he's done that, he's shown his unsurpassed professionalism doing duets and done his share of supporting and letting other people shine (from theater world to this day, remember pre Idol things, Idol group songs, duets with Allison, Angie, that totally talented young Chinese guy, Nate (yuk) from fun (?), so it's definitely only ADAM w QUEEN or ADAM SOLO that should get the ROYAL treatment from Idol if he ever graces the stage of Idol again.

for me, because I wanted to see Adam on my tv...and for everyone to see him singing again.
But also for Idol. He is one of Idols biggest success stories, and it would be a full circle moment for them. They could have done a piece on how he auditioned for Idol with a Queen song, performed with them on the finale, to now fronting them on a full North America tour. Queen and Adam is a huge coup for the Idol Brand....

I have been watching Idol this year, its much better than last year, which I think was the worst one yet. I want Jena to win, I have heard her winners single, and I like it, think it will sound great on the radio.
Don't want to see Kiss again, have never been a fan, their act hasn't changed for about 40 years!!! and I haven't forgiven Gene simmonds for his remarks about Adam.

There is definitely too much JLO face time though....

She is British. I get her, because I like british humour. I read that Americans feel that British are snotty towards them. I think it's just misunderstanding, because of the different humour.

I am British, I don't always get American humour, ...but I understand British humour, and I think there have been many times when Shoshanna doesn't come across well in tweets, and snotty is as good a word as any.

I agree about KISS performing on the finale and Gene's negative comments about Adam were uncalled for. They are not new and exciting for Caleb to be performing with them.I guess the producers could not get anyone to come on the show. And I think anyone who saw Adam with them in the season 8 finale, will only remember that performance. JLO constantly being seen as the performers sing is so distracting and I hate it. Focus on the ones on stage, not her. Why not show more of Keith and Harry then? Overall, this season's contestants were not interesting or exciting for me to care about them. I caught the last few shows but did not watch religiously as I did when Adam was on. Adam has more important things to focus on..namely preparing for the Queenbert summer concert tour.

Kiss got more than they bargained for when Adam sang with them. "Beth" was amazing by Adam. They don't have any vocals to match Adams. Caleb is not going to outshine them, Adam did. Gene Simmons is an a&@ hole.

I hope Caleb has platform shoes as high as Kiss so they can't make him look diminutive. They tried to tell Adam he couldn't walk in them.

I like Shoshanna,, and maybe her humor is different, but she is very protective of her clients. Definitely not a blabber mouth .

For Caleb's sake, Adam does not need to be in Idol in the finale, as promoting his Queen gig would be superfluous. To make comparisons between Adam's and Caleb's performances with KISS is unavoidable, and could be unfortunate for Caleb if he doesn't excite enough. I think the Idol executives believed Adam might blow Caleb out of the water. I'll just soothe my not seeing Adam with the "keep 'em wanting more" rationale.

All this poor ratings talk. It's still one of Fox's best rated shows. Why wouldn't they bring it back.

I think it is just overkill with all these talent/singing shows with another one to come tis summer. People are just not that interested in watching them esp. if the contestants are not interesting or exciting with amazing vocals. Idol may be the platform to get the performer's music out there but you need a listening and buying audience to achieve any degree of success. I probably will watch the finale,but for me season 8 with Adam was the best and will be very difficult to match.

8:49 have to agree with you. ai is rated #10 in all of fox's shows. There's no reason to drop it. Ryan Seacrest just signed a two year contract with ai, so we'll just have to see what happens. :)

Sorry, I have great respect for Adam, but I think that Caleb`s voice for Kiss better than Adama. Kaleb has a wonderful hard voice. Adam beautiful vocals.

I adore Adam and I think it's unreasonable to expect him to perform at EVERY Idol grand finale. That screams of entitlement. He's already been on Idol this year as a mentor. Time to give someone else ago even if it is KISS. I've lost interest in Idol .... same ol' same ol' every year, some years worse than others.

Sorry, I think that Caleb is a new talent and his voice is just awesome. I watched Adam's performance with Kiss in 2009 and I did not like at all. Adam's voice is not suitable for hard rock. Adam have`s beautiful vocals. I think Caleb's performance with Kiss will be very interesting. We'll see!
