Michael has always been a fan of Adam and has said that Adam brought his own creative input to the songs each week. Believe was the first that Adam decided to turn into a ballad and it worked.

This an old poem I wrote several years ago for a close friend I've prob posted it before it's very special to me. But I thought I 'd share it with u here today because I feel like its says how so many of us, in this amazing fandom fell toward each other even though we've not met face to face ... Friendship is a precious thing, a twinkle in the eye
Dew drops in the morning mist, a rainbow in the sky,
It’s caring without reason, and action without cause
It’s give and take without regret, and never giving pause.
Born of life and promises, and thoughts of growing old
Its honesty and patience, and secrets whispered low.
Yes, friendship is a mighty thing; it speaks of who you are
It measures loyalty in time...and cost upon the heart.
So if you find a friendship that’s meaningful and true
You must be a lucky one that’s found a friend like you.

Michael Orland just "got" Adam right from the get-go, like so many of us did. They really do have a special relationship, filled with respect. Hope the work together in the future.

@Fan4fun.....JAK here......yes, as soon as you can give me a mailing address I will go shopping. I will get you one like mine, you can hold it in one hand and type with the other. It's not heavy and I curl up in bed with mine and chat away. You can do the same on days when you are feeling not so good.

I think knowing you were still part of our 'neighborhood' cheered us all up. Let me hear from you. :-)

@rose petal......JAK here....yes, I remember that poem. I was so impressed I wrote in down in my journal. Because it's so perfect a description of the lasting effect of the value of friends, I copied it for my 'Circle of Six' and sent it out.

Amazingly at our advanced years, we six best friends from high school days (1950's) are still around. I attribute it to good living in our formative years......hamburgers and french fries and root beer floats at Tripletts Drive In.

if Caleb Johnson wins, he will be the best Idol winnner EVER. Adam Lambert will always be known as the best runner up EVER. Adam is still the best Idol contestant EVER, but Caleb will be the best WINNER. Caleb for the title.

Really? I'll have pull up one of his Youtube video's and give him another listen. I of course know what you mean, about anyone even coming close to touching Adam's all around talents, in his run on Idol in all aspects.

Not even mentioning the Idol tour after the winner was announced. The big, big draw was Adam. Idol tours have not been that exciting since!

Michael Orland and Adam have remained friends since Idol. It is actually an equal admiration society between them. He also played piano for Adam at a charity event where Adam sang. I believe it was earlier this year.

Tried watching Idol last night. Sorry, not that impressed. Had to pick between Dancing With The Stars and Idol. DWTS won me over!
Glad M&M won that one; all dancers in the final three were outstanding! Max's first win, His partner was a ice skating olympic gold medal winner; they were such a cute couple.

Best winner from me would go to David Cook and Jordin and lee

I never saw Simon Fuller before last nights AI show and at first I thought it was Simon Cowell.

DWTS for me to. These two are good singers but lacking something special. That's my opinion. We all know Adam should of won. Does not really matter most of the time the runner up does much better usually. JH came in seven did well but that not the norm.

Caleb doesn't have the personality, IMO.

I don't really seem to mind now, that Adam is not going to be on Idol again this year. Especially since the Queen/Adam Events are coming up. He will be right where he belongs and seems happy to be there for now. Can't wait until the tour begins!

Someone said that Caleb doesn't have the personality to be the winner of Idol. Well, think back to Philip Phillips. He was very shy, lacking in confidence, never looked you straight in the eye, and remember he wasn't feeling all that well. But I have seen him on several shows lately, and he is so much better during an interiew. He has gained confidence and probably feels more comfortable performing now. So Caleb who is young, can grow into being more confident and self-assured as he gets into the music business. I have listened to some of the so called "artists, performers" on the music scene today, and they cannot put two sentences together in an intelligent and coherent manner. But that seems to be most of the younger generation today if you listen to them speak..."like you know what I mean, like you know what I'm sayin' ". At least when Adam is interviewed, he is intelligent, thoughtful and articulate. It is nice to read about this bond between these two talented performers. Also, I skipped The Voice to watch the finals of DWTS last night and cheered when Maks and Meryl won. Overall they had some great celebs on this season that made the competition one of the best shows they have ever had. Now it's on to Idol tonight to see who wins that one. I say it will be Jena.

As an ardent Adam fan I find it quite insensitive of some of you rooting here who are the best winners of AI - on Adam Lambert fan site, knowing fully what a travesty it was him not winning!

Take your current season Idol comments (when they have nothing to do with Adam!) to Am Idol web sites! Same goes for Voice and DWTS and other reality shows.

Don't talk about Idol because of a "travesty" 5 years ago? You need to let it go. Adam didn't win, but he's doing just fine. Winning wouldn't have changed anything.
This thread is about American Idol. That's why we are discussing it.

I thought it was about M. Orland and Adam and their mutual admiration and friendship, things that started 5 years ago. Nothing to do with Idol this season or any other reality show.

The interview that was posted as the thread topic here includes conversations about this season's American Idol. Seems like it should be okay to discuss it... Besides, Idol for this season is over tonight so we'll be moving the convo's back to Adam. It's one thread...

So it's not all right to make a comment about DWTS or The Voice here, but it's fine to write about one's life experiences, personal contacts, friendships,etc.? I don't get the negativity about other comments that dont always relate to Adam, but maybe they do connect in some roundabout way. This site can become a sounding board for other issues at times, but most of the comments are about Adam, music, Idol, and entertainment in general. Yes, and Idol is over for this season. It will be interesting to see how both Caleb and Jena fare in their music careers(without giving the winner). Some of those second, third and fourth place winners do quite well as we have seen.

Watched Idol finale last night. I wanted to see the Caleb and Kiss number, but all I could think of was Adam with Kiss during season 8. To me, Caleb sounded better than the band members and who really cares about Kiss now anyway, maybe only Gene Simmons and his money making plans. Of course, there is no comparison between Adam and Caleb, but Adam was just such a better fit with the group back then. It seems that everyone who works with Adam always has such nice things to say about him personally and professionally. The bond between Adam and Michael will always be there.
