Unfortunately Adam will not be on the Idol finale, but it will be interesting to see Caleb perform with KISS. I know there will be no comparison to Adam's performance, but no one compares to this super talented man. Overall, this season's performers were lackluster and I could have predicted that Jena and Caleb would be in the finals a long time back. Good luck to both of them in their future music careers.

Do we know for sure that he is not going to be on the finale; who announced it? Or is it because nothing has be announced that this conclusion was reached by some?

How do we know for sure that Adam won't be in the finale? Am I missing something? Still, whatever happens, I'm actually okay with. To be fair, Idol has promoted Adam every single year since his run and for him to move on past Idol seems reasonable. Interesting though that they invited Kiss back to perform with Caleb. I am not going to give in to the competitive vibe, but somehow I can not imagine that given those "rocker" ties there won't be any Adam mention/promotion whatsoever.

Maybe it will be that Adam is just in the audience and Ryan stops by so Adam can promote the tour.

Since someone brought up Caleb singing with KISS: (which I thought was kind of surprising..but anyway....)..

About Caleb on American Idol: I'm not going into his unfortunate PR issues (let's not..) but I do think Caleb is very very good at what he does, which is sing primarily "classic rock" and "hair metal" type songs.. He has the rough-edged and powerful "voice" for it, and decent stage presence.. My hubby and I have been watching Idol this year, not necessarily every single week, but enough to get a clear idea of who we feel is talented.. And Caleb IS talented..

Caleb however (IMO and my Adam Lambert fan-boy husband's as well) is clearly not as multi-faceted or as polished as Adam was on Idol, and will never come close to holding me in complete and utter awe like Adam does, and always has since day one..actually minute one :)) , but that's okay, and he is still good enough to get our vote on Idol this year.. As my hubby frequently comments (unprompted,...honest.. :) "Caleb is good, but he's no Adam Lambert.."... Nope....

We also liked Alex, btw, and although Jena is very good, she just didn't grab us as much for some reason.. I wasn't surprised at all that she will be singing with Paramore's Hailey Williams because she sounds just like her in my opinion.. For what THAT's worth.. :))

Okay, done.. Just thought I'd get that out there and over with...No more Idol 2014 talk from me :))) Unless Adam surprises us with an appearance of some sort next week on the Finale... And then I MAY have to mention it......

I wonder if Queen/Adam rehearsals will be out of the Country? Adam is probably where Queen is by now, I guess.

Disappointed but, I guess the time was not right for Adam. Sure would have kicked the quality and excitement of the show up a notch or two; in my opinion. Oh well, won't be watching this year; unless things change and I hear that Adam will come on!

Off Topic (sort of..) If anyone is interested, I just got an email from Idol with links to the two finale singles, those of Caleb and Jena's, that will be their first singles.

After listening to each one once, based on the two songs, I'm going out on a limb here and predicting that Jena will win American Idol this year. Her single is catchier and more "current" sounding (IMO) (and I liked it..) and could be the deciding factor for her to win, all other things being equal.. Guess we'll see... Because you just never know how these things will pan out..as we very well know...

@glitzylady, I agree completely. That Caleb kid has a great rock voice - I actually watched Idol this year because of him - but(!) he doesn't have the versatility, overall stage presence and sex appeal that Adam has.

Totally agree with you!

If there was a female on AI battling for the win and with a ROCK voice like Caleb's, there would have been thousands of tweets and other comments YELLING @her calling her fat and not pleasant to look at, telling her to lose weight and get 'groomed'.... one more double standard, lol.

I liked that new single by Jena. Caleb's was good as well. Good luck to both of them.

Did you notice? Before Ryan said that Caleb would be singing with KISS - he said "we just finalized this today". Wonder if they were trying to get someone else (Q&AL) but were unable to work out the logistics. Maybe they settled for KISS at the last minute. I really don't think KISS is a good fit for Caleb. He's not glam enough for them. He better throw on some glitter and get himself some platform shoes.

KISS doesn't wear glitter. Makeup, yes, but no glitter.

JAK here....since no one else addressed the title of this thread...I will. I do recognize the faux-hawk. The young contestant was a crowd pleaser and gave the audience there and at home some good laughs. He is Sanjaya Malakar. He was not a great singer but he did provide good natured fun to the show and briefly was a mini celebrity.

Jena was interviewed the other night and said she was singing with Demi Lovato. Same show - Alex and Caleb didn't know who they'd be singing with.
