Well, that bit was good PR for Freddie!

Freddie was born on the 5th day of September and died on the 24th day of November. 24-5=19. June 19th is opening night of the Queenbert extravaganza. could Numerology play a role in this once in a lifetime opportunity? Numbers fascinate me. I always said the number 9 plays some role in the story of Adam lambert. crazy

Who cares about Freddie. Can people just shut up about him already! It's Queen + Adam Fucking Lambert now!!!!!!!

Love Roger's comment about drinking Adam's blood every day! They really respect him and truly like him. Can't wait to see the whole interview with more Adam in it.

Freddie was the whole persona of Queen. He was their most famous and well-remembered member. The band was built around him and his voice. Brian and Roger know this. Freddie's legacy is what makes their whole career after his death possible. People want to talk about Freddie. He's what Queen was all about, along with the incredible band members behind him. Brian and Roger are used to talking about him all the time. They accept it. Adam is NOT a member of Queen in any permanent sense. He is a very luck guest frontman, and from what we've seen and heard, he is a favorite of Brian and Roger. If it wasn't for the long-term reverence for Freddie, none of this would be possible. I think Adam's time with Queen will be long-remembered, and he will be one of the most respected frontmen Queen has ever had since Freddie. There is no way people will ever stop talking about Freddie Mercury.

@10:55 AM I often feel like you do but
@DRG has laid out the reality very well.

We just have to let the tour unfold and then see where Adam fits in the final analysis.

@10:55 in answer to your stupid question -THE FUCKIN' WORLD DOES!!!!

The world of rock would or could not be what it is today without Freddie Mercury.... he was a genius , a rebel , a trailblazer ,and the voice of a generation . When the world stops talking about FM music will have lost its voice. I love Adam and he will do an amazing job on this tour . He 'll surprise some , wow others he'll, tease , tantalize and reach new heights, but he 'll do it all in honor of the phenomenon that was Freddie Mercury . Then perhaps one day the world will know Adam Lambert as a genius, a trailblazer and the voice of a generation...( pretty sure they already got the rebel part down ;).... rose petal

@10:55 I love Adam also, but think of it this way....If Freddie had never existed, the band Queen may not have been as popular and iconic as they are today. And if that were the case, Adam may never have been playing with Roger and Brian in the American Idol finale, and Adam may never have gotten this opportunity to front one of the legendary rock bands of all time.

I grew up listening to Queen and thought Freddie's voice and persona were awesome. He also wrote many Queen songs. Let's give props and respect where they're due!! For many bands, the lead singer is the one who defines the sound of the group and is literally their "voice". They are not as easily replaced as the musicians in the band.

DRG and Rose petal - thank you for your comments...well-stated!

@10:55
You are probably a younger person, not a fan of Queen from day one nor a person from that era... Cause if you were and even if you did not like Freddie, you would never mention his name without respect.

I am not that young of a person; and I was not that familiar with Queen or Freddie Mercury until Adam Lambert came along. Then I saw how much respect that Adam had for Queen; that is how I became interested in their music. I saw how much they respected Adam as an entertainer and a person. That endeared me to them and their music. But, Adam Lambert was the one who made me familiar with them.

I think that Queen and Adam are handling everything just right. Adam has not even started the tour yet; and he will never take Freddie's place and has no desire to do so; and said that over and over! I think that Brian and Roger gives Adam major props everytime they speak of him; what more can the do? Oh yes; take him on the North American and overseas tour with them this summer, and call it Queen+Adam Lambert!!

I love the way this is all unfolding. Once Adam gets on that stage and goes to each venue; Adam will get major props from the public and the media. Adam will get his accolades in due time; as Adam Lambert, the great entertainer, in his own rights!

Lost breath for a minute when I read the comment 'who cares about freddie'! Wow! I can see even
ADAM reacting likewise!

Give respect where respect is due.

Freddie was great - with emphasis on the word was. He has been dead about 20 years. I believe it is time to let him rest in peace. Every commercial for the tour pictures Freddie Mercury as if he were alive and going on tour instead of Adam. I'm 79 years old and am interested only in hearing and seeing the new Queen and the incredible, amazing Adam Lambert. They and the rest of the band deserve respect and honor too. ILC
