Simply AWESOME!!! Review of Queen + Adam Lambert Concert! This reviewer attended the Mohegan Sun Concert in Uncasville, CT.

"Concert Review: On Queen’s New Tour, Adam Lambert Steals the Stage!"

EXCERPTS: Be sure to read ALLLLLL of this FABULOUS review!!! (Click on the link highlighted below..)

"Freddie Mercury may have passed away nearly 23 years ago, but his spirit is 1,000% present as Queen takes the stage with American Idol finalist the bone-chilling-jaw-droppingly talented Adam Lambert on their new international tour, billed as Queen + Adam Lambert. Walking into the Mohegan Sun arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, it was impossible not to feel the energy and excitement stemming from eager concert-goers. There were many in old Queen concert tees, but what shocked me the most was the vast age range of fans, all of whom ready to celebrate Mercury’s untouchable legacy."

"He's [Adam Lambert is] currently working on his third album, and with Lambert having transformed into a rock God for the Queen tour, we’re expecting big things. In fact, I think this tour will do wonders for his reputation and likability. In a post-Prop 8/Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell/Marriage Equality/Sam Smith-loving America, I expect a glam rock Lambert to come out of the post-Queen gates wailing and commanding the attention and accolades that Freddie Mercury once had."

"Throughout it all, Lambert never missed a beat. Charisma oozed from his pores as he strutted across the stage, sneered like Elvis Presley, air-humped his mic, and sashayed with enough sass for every gay man in a 50-mile radius; it was the first time I’ve seen a stadium full of (mostly) straight older men cheering for a man donning a cheetah print suit in a gold sparkly crown."

"Consensus: Must-see show of the year! Adam Lambert brought new energy to Queen that was unique, smart, and demonstrated just how much of a force to reckon with he can be. Now, if only the rest of the world can catch up."

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!!

WOW.......this guy gets it. He has seen the magic that most of us recognized 5 years ago! Adam amazes and pulls you into his web of delight.

Now, if only the rest of the music world open their ears and feel the vocal and charismatic surge that Adam so easily, so casually, so playfully, so consistently produces on stage........everyone could share in the fun and wonder.

Love the review . . . could have done with out the gay reference
gay/straight has nothing to do with his powerful voice.

JAK, Very well said. Adam's talent is so utterly astounding and is often acknowledged, BUT he is still hovering around that elusive big hit. WWFM was strong and made its mark, but Adam is bursting with talents yet to be heard. He is indeed the whole package of talent, looks, personality and charisma. A3 could be the charm that gets the world onboard!

Hahaha. Registration needed! Good. I remember the discussion(s) on this subject from two or more years ago. (I was in favor of it, btw.) At that time it was concluded that it would create too much discomfort for the ..Berts. Now it seems that no one asked for their opinion. This place increasingly looks like a... "democracy". I'm delighted! It feels more like home now. ;-)
Seriously, some of you know how much I love tags and dislike... comfort (especially comfortable thoughts).
So... Nice "meeting" you all! I can't wait to play with some tagged ..Berts with no sense of humor (that is, GLb humor I'm afraid), but I'm sure I'll miss some of my fellow... trolls. :-)

@blu
The man who wrote the review is apparently also gay.. Which makes the reference more relevant I think. It wasn't meant as anything more than a very positive manner.

I also read all of the comments, which sometimes isn't a good idea when it comes to these reviews, but in this case the comment section is actually a delight as well. The author, Steve Shaw, answers each and every comment with a polite and sometimes humorous comment himself.

I would recommend for everyone to read the comments as well.. Even more insight into the review. And I seriously love Steve Shaw!

Perfect review from beginning to end.. :)))

I'm reposting this here from a thread that is further back in hopes that those who may need this information might see it.. :))

-------------------------------------------

For those having trouble with posting a nickname other than "Anonymous":

Click on your highlighted "name" (for instance, mine is glitzylady :) in a comment you've posted here on 24/7. It will take you to an abbreviated profile page.
.
Click on "Edit Profile" on the upper right hand corner: Scroll down to the "Identity" box.
.
Click on "Name Used To Sign Your Blog Posts" box.

You should be able to change the name from "Anonymous" or whatever else is shown in that particular box to your preferred "name".. It should not display your own real name unless you wish it to be displayed..

Anyone who already has a Gmail Address (also a handy thing for a secondary email account, etc..) for email set up can easily set up a Google Blogger acct..

I like it because I can delete my own comments if need be... It does come in handy once in awhile..especially if you accidentally post an extra copy of your comment which sometimes happens here.. Or if you just decide to delete it for whatever reason.. You can use it on some other blogs as well.. If they use Google Blogger. A Google acct . is also essential to post vids to You Tube, or to comment on them.. Useful for many things..

Hope this helps..... :)))

And of course you don't have to use the "Google Blogger" log in.. There are others available such as Live Journal (very easy to log with also).. Also Word Press and AOL/AIM..

Link to set up a Live Journal Acct.. you can make up any old name to use as your displayed "user name"..

DRG, I really hope you are right about A3 finally breaking through to give Adam the exposure and recognition he so richly deserves!

And to clarify my post at 6:53 AM (I should have posted this first :)) , it is in response to THIS comment/question on another thread.. in reference to using Blogger.. Hoping this all helps

"By the way folks...I would use a nickname, but for some reason, I am not given an option in the posting section to do so
(how ironic. lol).
I'm not trying to be incognito... I can only post as "anonymous".
I am actually 'yada yada'.

At times, Blogger allows me to post that way, and other times not. Haven't figured that out, yet. Ahh, machines."

It never bothers me when reviewers mention Adam is gay or from AI unless done in a negative way especially the AI part. :)

Thanks GL for all that helpful information. I am still struggling a bit with other devices (iPhone and IPad) but am slowly getting it worked out. Also, Adamfaninhk, videos from Merriweather.

Adamfaninhk, meant to say thank you for the videos.

Have been watching a lot of the history of Queen, their successes and challenges. First they were really great songwriters, Freddie predominantly, but also Brian and Roger. Secondly, they produced many albums, from which the current showg takes the best. Thirdly, they too had their bumps along the way. In sum, they had a long challenging road, and one of the wonderful parts of this tour is that Roger and Brian can celebrate the great contribution they have made to music history. So this tour - aside from being the gig of a lifetime for Adam - is a celebration of the hard work of Queen for the many years they struggled and a celebration of Freddie's spirit. It's all good on so many levels.

I'm loving how this site is filling up with posters again. I knew it would. It is so much better hear now that we have to have tags. No more walking on eggshells wondering if a simple innocent comment will turn into an ugly firestorm. I love that we can still have opinions and disagree and exchange ideas, but not degrade into ugliness. A breath of fresh air!

Molly, I'm glad you made the point again, as others have, that Queen didn't always have it easy. There's was rocky road sometimes. Just goes to show that perseverance and loyal fans will sometimes see you through for the the long haul. I know I'm a Glambert through thick and thin.

Spot on review and very pleasant comment section as well. Couldn't agree more with everything this guy says, also in terms of Adam's own music. The New York Times should hire him.
