Glad I could jump on here at the beginning.
Wanted to pass on that some other sites and some people on twitter are being ridiculous about Gaga singing with Queen. Making judgments and vitriolic comments that do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help Adam; only will hurt him once her "monsters" get any whiff of Glamberts angry overtures.

I don't understand why some fans can't just be happy that he's furthering his experiences and career, no matter who joins him on-stage. This perceived "ownership" of Adam is ignorant.

I apologize if this offends any of you, it's not my intent. Just wanted to head-off any prolonged bitching thread that could come back to bite Adam in the ass.

I agree with you.. Rude comments don't do anyone any good... Especially Adam.. No doubt he was absolutely thrilled beyond words to be dueting with Lady Gaga.. And Queen was gracious enough to invite her.. Win/win for everyone involved..

Let's be happy for Adam.. and gracious to all...

Adam and Gaga obviously had a great time and tweeted pics and links about it. Fans of both should be happy that they were both so happy.

I agree, no point in leaving negative comments on YT or tweeting including both names with negative comments.

But on this Adam fan site that Gaga fans likely won't ever check out I should be able to say whatever I want about that performance and it was a hot mess!

Looks like there was no rehearsal at all. Gaga sang the wrong lyrics over Adam and very awkwardly walked away from him a couple of time.

Glad Adam enjoyed performing with her but that was not good.

You certainly have the right to express your opinion here.. and it IS an Adam Lambert fan site..

However, I respectfully suggest that you may possibly be incorrect when you say that Lady Gaga fans would not come here to read comments.. They far outnumber us, they use google search just like we do, and anything that contains her name is fair game.. So honestly, you just never know!

In addition to that, this blog is retweeted and included in tweets on twitter on occasion, and was once (at least) featured on BrianMay.com..and was subsequently re-tweeted by Dr. Brian May himself.. So you really never know where this blog, and the comments on it, will show up.., which in a way is kind of cool!! And you never really know who might be reading it.. Who knows, perhaps even Adam himself, his friends, family etc.. Gaga fans, Gaga (well, probably not, but you never know :))) Anything is possible to be honest..

I'm assuming everyone has their own thoughts re the duet.. I'm just really thrilled for Adam.. And I think Lady G enjoyed herself too.. I mean, after all, singing with the legendary Queen!! Awesome, even for her...

Adams fan base knows he's- big Gaga fan and was thrilled to be sharing a song with her. She's Gaga so her antics can be explained. Just say here and now nobody can out sing Adam, especially when he's on, and he was ON!

I adore Adam and happy that he was happy that he got to perform on stage with Gaga but honestly, this performance was a hot mess as Anonymous stated. I doubt Adam, Brian, Roger and even the audience thought this was very good. They were probably glad when it was over. I don't mean to be mean, but even folks like me who love Adam can be critical. Mostly the criticism is Gaga's part, not Adam's.

Loved the duet! 2 legends fronting a legendary band!

I've seen Lady Gaga in concert twice December 14th 2009 in San Francisco and January 17th 2013 in San Jose at the same venue I recently saw Queenbert. She is an incredible performer and artist. Adam has been a fan of hers for quite some time (any Glambert that's been following Adam knows that) So glad they were able to both share the stage with Queen!

This is TOO FUN! They probably didn't have a lot of time to rehearse, but it's the EXPERIENCE of having Gaga join Queen on stage that's the point! Adam and Gaga looked like they were having a blast. I loved it!

I posted on the previous thread something like this: They probably barely rehearsed at all. He's been singing that song for months. It was more of an impromptu thing. She added her own kind of ad-libbing to it. It wasn't intended to be a polished performance. But, I do believe that Adam "carried" it. Gaga was kind of all over the place and Adam kept the whole thing together. I give him major kudos for being able to do that.

This was a major coup for Adam. To sing with Gaga is a real feather in him cap. Hope they'll do it again. I think she likes him, and she seems impressed with him.

I will NOT read any of the negative slurs on any site about either of them. It was a moment of unexpected fun and a huge moment for Adam. Please don't feed the negativity, Glamberts!

Respectfully, I did say they likely won't check. If any Gaga Monsters are Googling Adam fan sites they should be prepared for what they get. I know I would be if I was cray enough to check out Gaga fan sites. There is a reason I don't go to Queenonline.

I agree there is no reason to poke Monsters with a stick but having to walk on eggs on an Adam fan site rather than risk offending them is a bit too much IMO.

I hate to admit I checked some Gaga fan sites. Mixed reviews from Gaga's fans.

Somebody else gets to check the Queen fan sites :)

I think realistic fans of any side have to admit that was a special moment for Adam and Gaga but that it was a less than stellar performance. Was that careful enough?

(Truth be told it was bad. Very bad. But great seeing Adam with Gaga who he loves.)

So happy for Adam to have this fun experience with Lady Gaga, and for Lady Gaga to have this experience with Queen! It's all good!!! Win-win:) xo

I think a very handsome and talented young man said best l.... It's rock and roll it ain't that deep . Seems like fun was had by all and I'm sure what it was interned to be fun , not an amazing earth shattering performance .

I know it was a thrill for Adam to have Gaga perform, (and I use the word loosely), with him. I know he is a big fan of hers. It certainly proved who could sing, and who messed it up. Adam did his damndest to pull the song together, and did a spectacular job of trying to pull all the broken pieces together. I am afraid he showed who had the real talent, and the best voice.
However Gaga also has many fans who love her craziness. Adam was at his best, it seemed that he was challenged by her, and would not , under any circumstances, be topped by Gaga, which he wasn't.
Adam proved that he is a star, under the worst possible conditions. I kinda wondered if she had been drinking, before she came on. BTW, she does know the song, she has sung it with Queen, when they were considering her to do a few concerts with them, but that fell through. Adam is the perfect fit to sing with Queen, Gaga is not. I think Adam had fun, with it, and was quite thrilled that she came on stage. He likes to change things up, or he gets bored, and she certainly did that for him.

I'm sure even the band found it tricky to follow all the fits and starts and dangling ends of that performance. But they are pros, too, and they got through it. It was meant to be off-the-cuff fun, not a polished product.

Rosepetal said...

DRG
Thanks for saying that:)..., that's what meant, i gotta learn to proof read ....lol

maggie said...

Do we really know it was meant to be off the cuff? Is that just an excuse for the quality of the performance? The rumors of her being there were circulating early. I'd want to hear Brian say it was a spontaneous thing before I believe that.

maggie said...

OMG, for those who love Adamtopia and Red Rose Queen, she is tweeting horrible things about Gaga.

I'm not a big Gaga fan,but I would have been thrilled if she jumped on stage when I saw them. Rappers do it all the time, and half the time they sound like sh$t, but nobody ever says a word. It looks like they had fun, and it's a great thing to have fun. So please stop judging. Everything doesn't have to be perfect. Also, to be real how many people can actually keep up with Adam vocally.

Anne Marie said...

That was a planned performance, even Gaga would not crash some ones concert. I doubt that they rehearsed very much, but she did try to stomp all over Adam. It did not work, he obviously tried to help her, but that did not work either. What a shambles she made of that, usually Adam does very well in a duet, but this time it was with the wrong person, even though he did very well with his part. But he had very little to showcase his voice, she took the lead parts. I am still happy that Adam can cross that off of his bucket list. I was wondering which song he continued with after that one.

Dee R Gee said...

Adam was the master here, trying to avert disaster. And magies, you may be right. If it wasn't off-the-cuff as much as I thought it was, then I just wish shehad chosen to follow Adam's lead and sing the song a little more in its original form. I think it would have come off better. But, of course, she is GAGA. Nuff said.

Dee R Gee said...

oops, meant Maggie.

Anne Marie said...

@ Dee R Gee
I agree with what you said, she should have followed Adam's lead, and not try to change it so much from the original. You don't just barge in, and sing it like you think it should be sung. Actually quite rude to do that. Kudos go to Adam, for being brilliant again. He was trained to sing through anything, a sore throat, a cold, but no one said any thing about singing through Lady Gaga, LOL

glitzylady said...

Lady Gaga's performance was planned ahead of time.

Anne Marie said...

Yes, we agree it was planned ahead of time. It's even possible that Brian asked her to sing, he likes her too. I don't think he planned on it being such a mess, and no one in this world could possibly blame Adam for the fiasco. He was brilliant, and I am sure before, during and after he was most gracious to her.

I loved seeing Adam duet with Lady Gaga! She's a great performer and it was a lot of fun! What can I say about Adam - he's a real pro and true gentleman plus he had a great time with GaGa! I'm sure the entire Queen gang had a ball and it looked like Lady GaGa did as well. I'm a Lady GaGa fan and truly enjoyed this special performance with Adam and Queen!

Well ... gonna try to put in my 'two-cents' again (last comment went awry b/cuz of sign-in probs) ... ADAM has always wanted to duet with Lady G. OK!! He can cross that off his 'bucket list' .... he DID & HE was GREAT!! Lady G. was who she is ... didn't expect anything else. The audience cheered ... they got more than they expected ... so what's the BIG deal? A good time was had by all ... JMO

Finally got to watch the video. I agree that, technically, the performance WAS kind of a hot mess, but it was also very rock and roll. I'll bet the audience had a great time, though. And hey, rock and roll sometimes IS a hot mess!!! :)

About the sign-in probs - I agree it's a pain. For no reason I have to log in every few days. Why? I guess I'm not alone and I don't have a lot of patience....sheeez Federal government sign-ons are a lot easier!

glitzylady said...

About the sign in problems.. No idea why... I haven't had problems with being logged off without wishing to be, in a while.. But it wasn't hard to log back in if needed.. I hope it doesn't discourage anyone from participating/commenting..

I finally saw the beginning of the song, and from what I saw Adam started the singing, then introduced Gaga as she came out and joined in. Adam owned the stage from beginning to end. I think Brian and Roger are well pleased that they chose Adam for the front man. Also Lady Gaga is already a huge star, and Adam needed this gig for his future career, he has had to claw his way up the ladder. He has not had radio backing, but hopefully now the suits are paying attention, and he will finally be heard on the radio, with his new album. Thank you Queen for giving him this opportunity to prove himself, by singing with the best and most loved of rock and roll bands. All of American music lovers have heard him for the most part for the first time.
Countries over seas have loved him from the beginning, but the US has been very slow to accept him. This part of the tour will be over in a few days, and he can get back and finish his album.

Anonymous said...

Anne Marie, I have to disagree about the Adam is more loved and accepted overseas part.

I think many people overestimate not being accepted in the US and lack of radio play. It's much more complicated than that. Adam has been making his way just fine. He's one of the more successful Idols. It's only been 5 years since Idol. When you hear interviews with "overnight sensations" you find out they've been working at it for decades often. Adam got a role on Idol without Queen. Performing with Queen is a good thing but isn't a magic key. All the things Adam does adds up. Throw in the bit of luck any upcoming performer needs and Adam will be fine.

Jeez! I'm glad they shared the stage, but that "duet" was quite painful to hear... I even imagined Simon C. saying: that's not what a duet is about. Maybe it wasn't even intended to be a duet, but a moment of... (musical) decompensation on her part. :-)
Fun to watch though. "Keep Rockin', M.F."! :-)

You're still stuck on Idol?! Adam's so beyond that show in so many ways! Has been for years. Idol was his platform, also for the international crowd, but unlike most "regular Idol watchers" in US (who more or less abandoned Adam after AMA'09) the rest of the world has embraced his talent and charisma the whole time... Complicated? Only in US....

PS. By "regular Idol watchers" I don't mean those who have been Adam fans the whole time (have nothing against Idol watching)
