Adam Lambert: 'This summer I learned not to be so hard on myself'

'Whataya Want From Me' singer Adam Lambert has revealed that performing with legendary rock band Queen was an incredible experience that taught him so much about how to approach his own career.
During a new interview with Fox News, the vocal powerhouse explained that he learned a lot while on the road with Queen and one of the best lessons he got was that it's possible to have a great time and still be taken seriously as an artist:
"One of the things that I picked up from them that I love is the fact that they're icons - they're royalty in rock and roll and in pop music - and they know how to have fun. They take their work seriously, but they don't take it too seriously. And I think that balance of being lighthearted - because it is music and it is entertainment - that's so important. If you're not having fun, the audience isn't going to have fun."
He admitted that he will now be applying this mindset to his own career and performance style, adding that he is finally embracing the fact that he can enjoy what he's doing and still be fantastic at it: "In the past I've been a little harder on myself, but this summer I realised you've got to enjoy yourself."
