Adam Lambert mention:

From the review of "Queen: Live At The Rainbow '74" from "On The Rocks" Blog

EXCERPTS:

"Being avid Queen fans ourselves, we were shocked and in a state to see a new album to hit the stores. Admittedly we were expecting a review to pour out of our fingers to your screens. But to tell you the truth, we were all far to busy enjoying the album to write anything. The downside is an week-late review. However, we can assure you all, that due to this lateness we have all delved deep into the raw live recording that is Queen- Live at the Rainbow 74. Call us experts of the damn thing. Shall we begin?"

"The album takes place in 1974, a few albums into Queen's career. Still starting off, not quite a household name, but still selling out the live shows with their avid fan base."

"Brian May and Rodger Taylor fans will not be disappointed as the album features their own spotlights with a guitar and drum solo. Good to know these two and soon to be touring in the UK with the current front man, Adam Lambert. Of course he's no Freddie, but who could be? They collectively put on a hell of a show, well worth a visit"

"Beautiful album, certainly worth a buy. Regardless if you're a Queen fan or not. If you call yourself a fan of music, you'll love this album. As it really is the epitome. Well done boys, 40 years ago you guys put on one HELL of a show."

I hope they release an official QueenBert Tour DVD. Not interested in old Freddie stuff from the 70s.

Well I must have got up in a bad mood, but I'm tired of reading Adam Lambert is no Freddie. Really...I think I've heard that somewhere before. I don't understand why they always have to say that. It's almost like they feel they are required to say it before they can something nice about him. Anyway, For the sake if Brain and Rodger I hope the album does well. And I also think Adam would want it to do well, for Queen. So like always everything for me eventually leads back to Adam. I do want to join lambertlust in hopping QAL DVD comes out.

To be honest, I thought it was pretty cool that Adam got the positive mention that he did in this review of the CD release, something that he technically had no part in.

He's becoming a part of the Queen legend.. On his own merits. A very GOOD thing, in my opinion!!!

As long as they have good things to say about Adam Lambert, the awesome singer and performer that he is, I can overlook the "he's no Freddie" part. He's Adam, also a VERY GOOD person to be! :)))))

Well then well agree to disagree on certain things. It's super they mentioned him, they couldn't just say he was did a good job without the whole Freddie thing. Guess it's just me but it's getting old we all know he'd not Freddie. And I gotta say, although he didn't have a part in the making of the album he certainly brought a lot of attention to Queen prior to it bring released . Just my opioion and I've been in a bad mood for about 3 mo so what do I know.

@ Rose Petal.........I just had a flash....wouldn't it be awful if every job you ever got in your life....you were introduced this way "Well, she's no Janice, but she's quite adequate".
"There's no way she will be able to step into Debbie's shoes, but she's a fast learner and quite pleasant". That would be grim!

You say you've been in a bad mood for 3 months? Surely that mood is about to wear itself out..........any day now. Would it amuse you to know that my husband woke up this morning with 'duck lips'? Exaggerated ones. I told him he looked like Daffy Duck.....his feathers (bedhead) were standing up and his lips were swollen. Upper lip kinda pointy.

After I insulted him and laughed at him I called the doctor....good wife that I am. He said Benadryl today and I'll see him tomorrow. It's been a very quiet day.
Benadryl knocks him out and he sleeps between tablets. I took a photo of him and sent it to all our kids!

I get where you're coming from Rose Petal...I too an fed up with the 'he's nor Freddie'.....
Of course he's not. he's Adam, and to me much better!!!
I liked Freddie when I was growing up, but never followed him, didn't find him sexy or attractive, but thought he had a great voice. But now I just don't want to listen to him anymore....if I hear a Queen song now that Adam has sung, I just think Adams version is better.
