Wonder what this is supposed to represent, with the Virgin Mary on the back of the cape. Never seen anyone do anything like this before. Probably have some Catholics upset. More than likely they wont ever see it.
A combination of tactless and tacky. I know that fashion shows are extremely off the wall, but this is in poor taste to me.
Omg I love this! Queen being referred to as Adam's crew!!! <3 <3
“X Factor UK” be forewarned: Adam Lambert + his crew in Queen are coming to your set — and they will absolutely, positively ROCK YOU!

Avant-garde fashion usually tries to push people's buttons and attract attention. Kinda goes with that territory. I'm not crazy about this particular piece, with or without the Virgin Mary. Oh well.
Lambertlust, I noticed the same thing when I read that article earlier to day. "Adam Lambert + his crew." How great it THAT?!
I'm Catholic and it doesn't upset me.
I love a lot of The Blonds work. I love sparkly. 3D flowers not so much.
If I was a pop diva I would love to wear costumes by them. Just can't find use for a sparkly glittery bustier in my real life ;)
maybe an homage to the virgen de guadeloupe? it's colourful - prob no offence intended -
I agree with JAK. Although it seems to be the norm that most people consider the cross, as a piece of jewelry. They don't have a clue what it actually represents. A practicing Catholic would be upset to have a mockery made of Mary
Anne Marie, I am a practicing Catholic and I am not upset and don't think a mockery is being made of the Virgin Mary. Please don't speak for all Catholics, especially if you aren't one.
This Blonds collection is full of large flowers, Catholic imagery and harem pants. I would love to see one of their runway shows in person someday.
it's like watching pigeons in a pickle patch. you don't know which pickles the pigeons would like to pick.
Blasphemy!!! Lol

I have spent 3 years in Catholic school, and 4 years in Catholic convent. I think I know a little about the Catholic religion. I am a recovering Catholic, I have found the true religion that was meant for us, and Catholics ain't it. If you are not upset about the tacky portrayal of the Virgin Mary, then you have a very odd idea what your religion is all about. This garment shows no respect for something who is holy.
LOL
Anne Marie, you are no longer Catholic and there is no need to say disparaging things about the Church nor any reason to make comments about what you think I think my religion is all about. You don't know me.
If you have traveled to Mexico or Italy there are many depictions of the Virgin Mary that are loud, colorful, garish, on various items, yet all are meant in respect.
Your comments should include it is in your opinion the clothing is a disrespectful mockery because IMO they are not.
Oh dear, please don't squabble. :-(
Ot, is Adam going to be on some program Nov13th ,the opening of an art shop?
11:45, I read it as Adam will be at the opening of Mathu Andersen's art show. I didn't think it is being broadcast but I'm sure we will get pics.
I'm Catholic also, and I must admit I'm not sure whether to like this piece or not. LOL Perhaps part of the answer lies in the intent of the designer. I'm drawn to sparkly, colorful things and Mary's depiction is very beautiful here (to me anyway).
I happen to teach catechism and was at a continuing ed training session a week or so ago with the teachers of the other grades. At one point, someone brought up that they don't like seeing the rosary worn as a piece of jewelry, like a necklace. I've seen that before, and it doesn't bother me...whether it should or not, I can't say. Lots of religious people, Catholics and non-Catholics alike, wear cross necklaces as a form of jewelry, and I see it as a beautiful expression and public acknowledgement of their faith. And I suppose there are others that wear cross necklaces with no religious intent whatsoever...
Fellow Adam fans, it's interesting to read your thoughts on this also. In my family growing up, it seemed like a day didn't go by where we didn't have some healthy debate going on. ;)
Oh, and this is a little late -- but I appreciate the comments welcoming me as a tagged poster some threads back. A couple times I tried to post a "thank you" from my phone, but my comment seemed to disappear into thin air. :) I like seeing familiar tags are reading your comments.

I am a Catholic as well. It seems to be in vogue to wear religious items as art. I have even seen rappers wearing rosary beads. Seeing the Blessed Mother on a cape is a bit shocking as I suppose it's meant to be. I am not opposed to religious items to be worn. Now if I see a throw rug of the Blessed Mother, that would put me off. I don't want to see anyone walking on my religion or for that matter, the American flag. As for wearing religious items, maybe it will help. lol
@11:04
I didn't think I said anything disparaging about the Catholic religion, but I do know what the religion teaches, and they do teach respect for the Holy Family.. I didn't realize the religion was just yours, and I don't know you. In this particular picture that Adam
"liked" just shows total ignorance
Adam liked it because it has something to do with the Blonds. I am sure Adam knows less than nothing about the Catholic religion, he wasn't raised in it. No reason to expect him to know about it. I don't know the finer points of the Jewish religion.
You have the right to be wrong.
@8:41
I'm with you!
Love the colours, the creativity and flamboyancy of the Blonds!
@11:04
The second paragraph of your comment is spot on.
OT .... QAL concert announced for Krakow, Poland on February 21. :-)
Anne Marie, you said you found the true religion and Catholic ain't it. I consider that disparaging.
You have no idea why Adam liked the pic or what he knows of Catholicism. You are just assuming.
Once again, I am Catholic and am not offended. I have traveled to Italy and Mexico where there are plenty of colorful, gaudy depictions of Virgin Mary, even in churches. There does seem to be more wearing of religious iconography among certain cultures.
Lastly, you are beyond rude to say I have the right to be wrong. We both have the right to our opinions but it does not make yours right and mine wrong.
Thanks, Vagrant. You have seen it too in Italy and Mexico. I enjoyed seeing these colorful and sometimes OTT depictions.
There are several religions that call themselves the true religion. I'm curious to hear which one Anne Marie is now.
My God will kick the crap out of your God! Cause my god is the real God and yours is false.
6:55 AM, love it. Too true ;)
I kinda like it when a simple instagram by Adam engenders discussions like this one. There may be some differences of opinion, but it opens our eyes to lots of points of view. I think we all learn a little more every day.
Great news about the Krakow show!
I wouldn't be surprised if more dates more added.
NEW QAL DATE:
New date added to the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour - Krakow Arena date in Poland announced for 21st February!
http://www.queenonline.com/en/news-archive/queen-adam-lambert-tour-polish-date-added/
(Hope the comment about Finland and Russia is just some fan wishing for those cities. I'm ready for new Adam music!)
DRG, if only it would open more eyes to tolerance of other viewpoints. Doesn't seem to do that here :(
Just to add, changing anyone else's mind about religion and politics is usually a losing battle. A healthy discussion is a good thing, as long as it's civil. Most of us will continue to believe what works best for us.
@November 12, 2014 at 11:04 PM
Well articulated.
True Dee R Gee :)
May I just interject that, at the risk of stating the utterly obvious, the piece in question falls under the umbrella of ART ... and I really don't think I have to sell out what I am hinting at with that idea.
So, hey, speaking of the Catholic Church... I think that maybe, just maybe, this interesting tolerant sorta wonderful new Pope would appreciate, if not actually like, the creativity expressed in the piece in question... and dare I say that Pope Francis might just pat it's left of center, very non-traditional creators on the back and say "Good Job friends... your contribution to art is as meaningful as anyone's, thank you for sharing your talents with the world..."
Art is subjective... tolerance and acceptance shouldn't be. IMHO.
7:54 here... think I made some spelling & typing errors above, I trust you'll cut me slack, thanks in advance. :)
I am rushing through the threads and do not know if this has been posted yet, but I'll leave the link and the admins can take it from there if they deem it worthy Adam news :). Have a great day all.

@Dee R Gee
Amen, to both of your last posts!
Very healthy way of thinking in my opinion.
I just love this Glambert Family, so diverse and so many opinions. Great when people express their thoughts and opinions in a kind and thoughtful way.
We are very, very lucky to have Adam Lambert as a beautiful symbol and example of love and tolerance!!
I apologize to everyone whose feelings I hurt. I guess I was so upset about Blonds picture that was put on here. I hope you will accept my apology. I know better than to bring religion to a blog like this. I don't have a religion as such, I follow the path Jesus Christ set for us to follow, and all the rules and regulations are written in the Bible. I belong to a non-denominational church, that I attend each week. We are encouraged by the words of Jesus Himself, to love one another. I failed miserably . I am sorry for any unkind words I said, please forgive me. I love you all, and just went down the wrong path. If anything offends me again that is posted here, I will just scroll on by.
@Anne Marie
Very classy and sincere apology. In my opinion, you have no need to apologize, but if it makes you feel better fine. This is an open form and your opinion is just as important as any other poster. Besides, if we all stopped posting at the things that might defend us at any given time; there would be no one posting on this blog, believe me! Have a wonderful day.
9:46 AM - here/correction
meant to say: offend us, not defend us. (sorry about that)
Anne Marie, thank you for that apology. Few here have the humility to do that. Wishing you a great day :)
(From the person whose opinion you called wrong)
Love ya, Anne Marie! It's hard to stand up for how we feel sometimes, esp. when we know we'll get some opposition. You stated your view and stood your ground. That's how it should be. I don't mind a healthy debate as long as it's kept civil. Religion is never an easy thing to discuss in a diverse group. It goes to the core of our feelings and beliefs. I think this thread went fairly well, all things considered. Anything Adam does sure keeps the pot simmering.
Thank you for accepting my opology
We have room for any opinion that doesn't insult others.
We each have feelings that may differ. I always inwardly cringe at the sight of anyone wearing a cross. To me it has always represented it's original use. A way of torturing and executing.
I wouldn't wear a cross, just as I wouldn't wear a guillotine or a noose or headsman's axe as jewelry. I don't object to others wearing one, I just wonder why.
To each his/her own, just like with everything else in today's world.
10:48 pm, I think it is because it is a symbol of faith for most rather than a symbol of an ancient means of death. It also represents that Jesus rose again. I think its symbolic like communion is symbolic.
