Who new? They sure didn't. That should be framed and hung up on one of Adam's walls. Of course in a few years he will have other memorable moments like these.
meant Who knew?
Look at the first photo...Brian says: Yea I found my New Boy! It was love at first sight. lol! That version of We Are The Champions, was literally the tip of the iceberg. The real wow! is the QAL version. I guess perhaps Adam had to accommodate as it was a duet. Didn't know Queen much then, just a couple of songs like We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody. Sometimes Adam is too humble...it's time his Queen prowess be allowed to surface rather than keep flogging the dead horse of repeating the filling of shoes analogy; referring to Rock Band of the Year interview, also at the actual Award presentation. Do you think Queen could win without Adam; that should be emphasised and not brushed aside even at the Award presentation itself. Instead of saying, it's not easy to stand in as iconic Freddie Mercury...perhaps say it in a less conciliatory tone as in... Here's to the New Queen Frontman Adam Lambert...how about it.
But Brian and Roger get it...they have never said anything about filling of shoes. lol! They know, both are different and exceptional.
Adam was so in awe at that moment, he just stopped himself in time from genuflecting. He is still like that, but now they are all friends, and love each other, and Brian and Roger are in awe of Adam.
Bottomline: It's okay, it really doesn't matter what people call or refer to a person as; the test of the pudding is in the tasting! Adam must have been overwhelmed; now he is a full-fledged Rockgod, not what we assume he is. lwl!
That isn't really a full circle moment. Cool but not full circle.
Such a cool reminder to all of us how far Adam has come!
Anon, what would you call full circle?
I guess when Queen comes back to AI and they sing with Adam there again.
Anne Marie, I was going to ask the same question to Anon 8:42 --- why do you not consider it a full circle moment? They first sang together on the AI finale and then, lo and behold, they win a prestigious award for that same collaboration. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I'm just questioning why you think that. Thanks. LL
And here's another "Full Circle Moment" (in my opinion anyway...):
Adam performed at the Avalon Ballroom, the venue in Hollywood, for the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards, in at least one of the Zodiac Shows, back in the days when he wasn't famous... And now he's back there accepting a prestigious award as am "adopted" member of a famous and legendary band.. And he's pretty famous himself..
I hope this counts as a full circle moment too :)))))))))
Works for me!
To answer what I think is a full circle moment, that would be something like singing with Queen on the Idol stage then singing with them on the Q+AL stage. Or singing A Change is Gonna Come at the Music Box Theater pre-Idol, being assigned to sing that song on Idol and then closing out the GNT US tour with singing ACIGC at the Music Box again.
Singing with Queen on Idol and then getting an award with Queen is great but not really a full circle moment. Not all the pieces are there like they are in my above examples.
I think Kara was the first person/judge to call Adam Rockgod; so her insight has come to pass.
Actually Adam can sing... glam rock, operatic rock, jazz rock, theatrical rock, country rock, pop rock, rock rock... lol!
Just adding this would be more of a measure of how far he has come rather than full circle. More like auditioning with a Queen song to winning an award with Queen shows the great strides he has made in his career. That's different to me than full circle.
One more to my above list...EDM / synth rock.
I left out the one Adam always talks about...funk rock. But when Adam sings, he rocks all of them together. So it becomes Rojak Rock! lol!
To-may-to
To-Mah-to
but I get it, good explanation Thanks.
