That's why it's of utter importance in any matter, big or small, to be open and honest; now with tv, internet, etc. the world is watching everything. To be fair to Kris, I did like him quite a lot, talented and amiable; plays several instruments and that is a huge advantage when it comes to writing songs, because he can fit the lyric directly into the melody which he can toy around with on his keyboard / guitar. Adam on the other hand relies heavily on his voice as an instrument which may not facilitate the playing around of the melody to fit the lyric, as efficiently if he wants to scramble it up or redo it or add in. That's why he needs someone to work along with him. That's okay too, I mean there are myriad ways to creativity.
I remember Simon said Kris needed to spruce up his personality; whereas in Adam's case, Simon's face sort of perked up like, not sure what to make of him, so Adam's mystique was from the very start.

Tis down right rude and ridiculous to bring this up now. Kris won, if you don't like it then go fly a kite. I could have said worse, but then I would be rude too. Adam DID NOT win, period. To bad if someone doesn't like it. I certainly won't be involved in this really stupid poll. Adam has done very well for himself since then. Kris is a very nice guy and one of Adam's good friends. This poll should never have been put on this site, I am angry at admin for allowing it. It just stirs up a lot of trouble.

Yes, it's definitely a silly article!!! I doubt Adam and Kris give one rip after all this time, but at the same time, we know who we think should have won, and it's such OLD news it seems a little odd to be re-hashing it yet again.. I suppose it'll be a topic of conversation until the end of time...And being that Idol is starting up again in a couple of months, here we are again!!!

People here on the blog in this thread have some strong opinions, both pro and con for this post.. So it was sent to the Admins for consideration..

Re "censorship": In an effort to be respectful to Adam and others, there are those rare times when we need to take a look at what is posted here..

All riled over some long-gone reality
Both Adam and Kris did a good job on S8
In their respective capacity
And both handled the outcome with grace and maturity

I feel bad for Kris when this topic comes up so often. Good grief, he's a person with feelings. He is also doing fine in his own right. I'd hate to have this thrown in my face all the time. When Kris is interviewed and Adam is mentioned, Kris handles it very nicely. I say let it rest. Good to know that this poll is not just about Adam and Kris. I'm choosing to skip it anyway.

How many times Adam was called a "gay" singer as a prime description? How many times he was called "American Idol loser"?

It's just a blogging game Kris and Adam need to life with.

5:50, I totally disagree, just because one person has had to bear something doesn't mean somebody else should as well.

Being called gay isn't a burden, Adam is gay and proud of it. I've never heard Adam called an Idol loser. I've heard him called runner up which is true and not an insult.

We should be striving to be kind to everyone so no one has to "bear" something.

Yes, in ideal world it could happen. But unfortunately that world does not exist yet.
And yes Adam is a proud gay man. But that does not mean that every straight media should call him a gay singer.
I can say that it is better now in media, but we still have a long way to go.
And about a loser calling, just this summer some Queen tour bloggers have described Adam just like that.

I know you want be positive, but please do not be naive about the dark side of todays media. They will put Adam or Kris down and they will not care about the impact for these individuals.

Haven't we moved on from this decision? It seems like such a long time ago and Adam's career has soared since then. Kris seems like such a nice guy, family man and a caring individual. Their careers have taken different paths and it is a waste of time to rehash something that happened a number of years ago. I just want to hear about Adam and new music in 2015. You have all these young performers putting out song after song and getting the teenage audiences for their concerts. Where does Adam fit into this music scene? Whatever he is working on, I hope it is so amazing that it blows everyone else into the background and brings him the recognition that he so deserves as a solo artist.

ADAM should have won but didn't. Both went on to build a career for themselves in spite of 'public' opinion. ADAM is doing very well ... not being a follower of Kris' ... I don't know much about his career. I hope he is as happy as ADAM ... doing what he wants to do ... like ADAM is!! Bless them both!!

Of course Adam should have won, even Kris thought so. However Kris really needed it more than Adam. I believe he has a career in music, playing small clubs. Adam was destined to become a star; he didn't really need to win. And then there's middle ?America. So there you have it IMO
