From The Daily Mail Online:

"It's back! As American Idol starts the search for a new Kelly Clarkson or Adam Lambert, we take a look back at some of the BIGGEST ever superstars the show has created American Idol is back – and with it a host of wannabe stars hoping to change their lives forever."

"Auditions for the fourteenth season have already been filmed across Minneapolis, New Orleans, Long Island, Nashville and San Francisco, ready for the first show on January 7. And tonight, at Hollywood's House of Blues, there's one final chance for American Idol hopefuls to impress the judges at a special concert before the finalists are chosen. Viewers can follow all the action as the one-month countdown begins using #TurnUpForIDOL. So, who have been the show’s biggest successes? Here, we look at eight who went from unknowns to superstars."

ADAM LAMBERT

"AGE: 32 WHEN: American Idol Season Eight (2009) BACKGROUND: Born in Indianapolis, Lambert was raised in accordance with his mother’s Jewish faith. In 2005, aged 23, he sung versions of Hebrew songs Shir LaShalom and The Prayer at the funeral of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin." [PLEASE NOTE: This reference is incorrect. Adam sang at a memorial service in Los Angeles in 2005 for Yitzkak Rabin, who died in 1995. The funeral was in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1995]..

"Before auditioning for American Idol he performed in a series of musical stage productions, including Grease, Chess, The Music Man and Hello, Dolly!"

"WHERE IS HE NOW: When he’s not performing, the singer spends much of his time in the Hollywood Hillls, where he owns a lavish $3million home."

"CAREER SUCCESS: Lambert is ranked by Forbes as one of the top 10 wealthiest American Idol alumni......The singer’s success has been aided by his decision to sing with rock band Queen in 2012, filling the shoes of the late Freddie Mercury."

Also, PLEASE NOTE: There is a reference to "People With Money" blog within this write up, stating that Adam is "#1 on their list of  highest paid singers of the year". The article and website that this quote came from is a hoax/parody... It's unfortunate the author of this article included it in this write up.. http://en.mediamass.net/people/adam-lambert/highest-paid.html

He might have made more money 2014 than the others. They don't all make millions each year, it goes up and down, depending on their tours.

It's a trashy tabloid with questionable sources. How does that merit a post?

When Adam sang the Jewish "The prayer", he sang it phonetically,
he knew no Jewish language. I have heard it so many times, and he sings it beautifully. It's worth your time to Google it, his voice is lovely.

That picture of Adam in those pants alone merits this thread!!

Pair revisiting that photo with the memory of that awesome vocal and interesting performance, and this fan is quite content with having read this thread! But to each his own and all that ;)

To be honest, the reason I posted this article at all, was to clarify the problems and obvious glaring errors within the article.

It's circulating around out there so we might as well make the corrections here.

I clearly noted the problems with the "facts" as presented by the tabloid, within my post.

Better than having it show up here and having readers confused by some of what was written. It was poorly researched but Adam WAS included as one of Idols superstars.

Someone complained recently about those who wanted Adam to just stand behind a mic and sing........well,
this performance just standing in one spot had the audience AND the mic sweating!

Thanks for the photo Glitzylady!
