Queen + Adam Lambert in Ziggo Dome (AMSTERDAM)

"Wanneer de eerste klanken van One Vision door de Ziggo Dome schallen, is één ding meteen duidelijk: Freddie of geen Freddie, Queen leeft nog steeds in de harten van de vele duizenden fans die naar Amsterdam zijn gekomen. Het eerste Nederlandse concert met de huidige zanger Adam Lambert moet dan ook vooral een muzikaal feest worden....................."

TRANSLATION VIA GOOGLE TRANSLATE:

"When the first notes of One Vision blare through the Ziggo Dome, one thing is immediately clear: Freddie or not Freddie, Queen still lives in the hearts of the thousands of fans who came to Amsterdam. The first Dutch concert with current singer Adam Lambert should therefore primarily be a musical feast."

"George Michael, Paul Rodgers, Robbie Williams ... many have in recent decades been the almost impossible task of Queen frontman undertaken. Since 2011, the Adam Lambert may dress the songs of the legendary rock band, and he does very meritorious. Although he terms camp content for some the pain threshold by a factor of 40 will exceed he is at Ziggo Dome action by the vast majority of the audience received with enthusiasm. Something that touches him otherwise visible."

"Adam Lambert" "No, no one can ever replace Freddie Mercury, so let's now not even draw that comparison. But compared with Paul Rodgers Adam Lambert a relief. Both are in their own way just fine singers, but Lambert has so much charisma and stage presence. The fun he has with Brian May and Roger Taylor, exudes really off the action."

"Visually, the contrast between jumping-jack in the field Lambert and now really getting old Queen members is very large. Brian May's hair looks at each visit to the Netherlands to become a shade whiter and Roger Taylor looks with his long beard always been like a cross between Vader Abraham and Santa Claus. Incidentally, he looks all evening remarkably stiff, although not at the expense of his drumming. But he let Tie Your Mother Down to his son Rufus, perhaps because he can not handle that number? Rufus same care for the rest of the concert percussion and thus gives a beautiful addition to the sound."

 "Freddie Mercury"

"And that sound, which is of course as a house. Whether it comes to pop hits such as I Want To Break Free or rockers like Fat Bottomed Girls: every song on the setlist guarantees recognition and celebration. Especially the old guard fans alive when Seven Seas Of Rhye debuts and Brian May addicts can enjoy his guitar Last Horizon. Big singalong moments come in the form of Who Wants To Live Forever, Radio Ga Ga, and of course the ever from We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions existing encore."

"One of the highlights is performed acoustically by May Love Of My Life. Not because that number is now so strong run (guitarist struggling since early this week with a strong flu and that has an effect on the last years already declining vocal qualities), but because Freddie Mercury takes over halfway through the song through archive footage. And yes, there is still so even a shudder of excitement, emotion and admiration from the audience."

Oh dear, nasty criticism of Brian and Roger, both at a personal and professional level - totally uncalled for. Indeed they should be commended for keeping the music of Queen alive with Adam, bringing it to established fan and hopefully, new fans. May Queen's music will live forever.

I am sure there are musicians in their 20s around the world who dream of being as accomplished as Roger and Brian. White hair doesn't matter if your skill is still there.
Besides, when the stage is darkened, we can always spot Brian by the glow of his glorious white curly mop of hair!
