Adam Lambert 24/7 News

I know we are hearing some great reviews, almost all positive. Have there been any bad reviews, and I don't count anyone who did not attend one of the concerts. I have heard some borderline , back handed compliments about Adam. Also sometimes they get a few facts not quite accurate, but that is to be expected. But are all the reviews 100% good? Or are the only bad comments coming from people who won't go to a concert.
The best part about the New Years Eve concert, was that there were thousands of people who had not heard of Adam, who never go to concerts, or cannot afford to go, or are not in physical shape to be able to attend. But everyone who tuned into BBC that night had the pleasure of being introduced to Queen and Adam to watch from their arm chair in front of the TV. Brian said this TV show was about explaining why they have Adam as their front man, and he certainly succeeded, not only UK but people all over the world are crazy about him now.

I believe that the NYE gig in London was the bombastic and utterly promising start of "era 3". I'm stoked and incredibly overjoyed how much this one TV appearance has done for Adam. Thank you to Brian and Roger for trusting their instincts and putting Adam on this magical path!

When I read there was a flurry of people buying FYE and Trespassing albums after the NYE performance......I wondered what they thought of.....Time for Miracles, Fever, Sleepwalker, Pick U Up, Trespassing, Shady, Underneath, Outlaws of Love.......etc. etc.

Will they be fans of just Adam without the Queen machine backing him? Will songs other than the Queen hits be accepted? The voice will still be there and brilliant, but will that missing time honored aura overwhelm them?

Will they let go and be willing to embrace a new sound with this, for many, "new man" singing his heart out?

I might add.....I'm a natural born worrier and spending a week in bed with a sprained ankle has made me crabby, cross, depressed and generally pessimistic ..... That has probably brought on my gloomy stage.
Hopefully I am worrying about nothing.

JAK, I am a worrier, too. I don't always express it when I post here, but I often have the same qualms as you do. Adam has won the hearts of so many new fans this past year, and the numbers just keep on growing.

I am not going to under-estimate the intelligence nor the sincerity of the new UK fans who are flailing over Adam's performances with Queen right now. These people certainly know that Adam's new music will be HIS, not Queen's. If Adam does do a solo tour (please, God), they will certainly know that his solo stage show will not be like Queen's. But the seed has been planted in regard to Adam's voice and talent onstage. I think these new fans will give his own music a chance to prove itself. And as for Adam himself, they seem to love him. I've decided not to worry too much. Adam is a big boy. It's a tough business. He'll deal with whatever comes his way and keep on singing.

And, JAK, I'm so sorry to hear about your ankle. Nothing you can do but wait for it to heal and get back on your feet. At least you've got some world-class entertainment to keep you company! :)

These things have crossed my mind too. I would like to hear some feedback from some of the new fans, who have just recently bought his solo music. Will they like him without Queen. I myself have gotten used to him singing with Brian and his guitar. His new label. should already preparing promoting Adam and his new single. RCA let him down, but I think Warner Music will do their job a lot better, and get him on radio and TV. I am hoping he will need bigger arenas when he goes on tour with his new music.

I am curious as to whether Adam has had any guitarists, wanting to join his band. He really needs a very talented person to be part of his singing, like Brian does. He will never find another Brian, but I know there are some great musicians out there, that would probably give anything to be part of his band. I am not dissing Tommy, no reason he cannot stay, but not as the front guitarist. Adam has the finances now to hire a more experienced musician. He needs someone who can make that guitar sing. Even at the little church I attend, we have a guitarist who has the same feel for it as Brian does. It takes a special person, who is in love with what he can make a guitar do. Of course it takes a lot of training and experience.

I agree, a front guitarist needs some zip in personality as well as that super ability to be a strong, hot, sweet musician. Tommy is passive and petulant looking, as if he's being forced to be there against his will.

Adam deserves a backing band to match his stratospheric talent. It's obvious when he plays with Queen and Nile. Such a magical, full sound. But since Adam had the backing of even an orchestra on his CD's I think new fans will love what they hear - at the very least, find a number of songs to appreciate and groove to.

JAK, broken bones always take longer to heal than you think. It sucks, but don't be sad! You'll be your rockin' self again soon, I'm sure! Sending light your way :)

For sure Adam will need a kick-ass band to back him up on tour. His profile is quite high now. Hopefully he will attract some talented musician to work with him. A stage show has to have every component strong and stage-worthy. He knows that. His own future tours have to really be a leap up from what he has done in the past.

Personally...I'd recommend Slash! Hah, fat chance!

I'm used to sprained ankles, when you are accident prone you learn to deal with it. I'll be hopping around soon, just this first week has been no fun at all.

Adam doesn't need a star for a guitarist. He needs an unknown person, just someone who has a lot of talent. Adam is going solo, he won't want the guitar player taking over the limelight.
This is fine while he is with Queen, that's a different story. He needs to be tight with his band, so they can anticipate his next move, even if he changes things up. A good musician can blend with the changes. Queen does it all the time with Adam.
He definitely needs a new band, and I don't know how he will accomplish that, since he has made his existing band his glamily. Possibly his new label can persuade him, but Adam is extremely stubborn.

Instead of worrying, I just keep up with my prayers for Adam's success so it keeps worry away.
God always finds a way to give what is being asked for someone prayerful.
And it shall be given and it is as is, answered prayers indeed.

I think the label is really behind him given the critical acclaim he's getting through this very daunting gig with rock legends. Adam has sure baited a good number of Queen fans, but I'm not sure how many of those fans will eventually become Glamberts - that probably depends on the music he'll release - but I have trust in his label's and producer's concerted efforts to get him to the next level regardless. If the music is good, the world will pick up on it.

@JAK, so sorry to hear you've been sidelined for a bit. Are you still able to do your "bed dancing"? ;)

I also wonder what "new" fans think of Adam's own music. There might be a few songs they don't care for (just like the rest of us), but I think there's enough variety there that they'll find certain songs they like.

@RosiePosie........I'm arm dancing. It hurts like h*ll cause I have arthritis in both shoulders....but I'm doing stuff the physical therapist charges $200 a visit to force me to do. It's not as painful if you are doing it to Somebody to Love!
