What was the crowd reception like for Paris? Did they seem to appreciate our Adam?
Oh!! YES!! The 'new man' received a rousing round of cheers & applause!! Total approval ... I would say ..
tess4ADAM(LAMBERT Outlaw)
From what I've seen online, the Paris crowd was EXTREMELY appreciative, loud, enthusiastic.... all good!!! And Adam was having a great time!!! As was Dr. Bri and the entire band,,,
Was the whole stage and lighting different? No Q?
Sounded like the crowd's response to the "New Man" question was a huge "approval" that went on and on...I'm hoping Adam could feel all the love!
"Bonsoir!" Kudos to Adam for trying to speak some French! A friend of mine who attended the concert just texted me that the crowd loved him. However, she prepared me for possibly not such glowing reviews. Supposedly, according to a French fan, the French are very tough. Let's see...
That's why I was concerned about the reception to Adam and his flamboyant ways. Lol i wasn't sure if all crowds react the same to him.
What happened to the Q stage?
The venue in Paris was smaller (by at least half) than the majority of the venues, which have generally been arenas. We saw a few shows in the summer tour that didn't have the "Q".. for instance the 2 shows in Las Vegas.. the venue stage doesn't accommodate the size... We'll probably see the "Q" back very soon!!!
I watched the livestream and Parisian went nuts with Adam!!!:) I have to say that there were a lot of Adamaniac inside and loving it for sure he!he! TSMGO was like a rocket ship!!:) Adam's voice is electrifying indeed!!
Canadian
Did they scratch "Don't Stop Me Now" in order to put "Show Must Go On" back on the set? If so, I'm not happy. Besides, it almost pains me to hear Adam sing those high notes in SMGO. I don't think it's worth putting his vocal chords at risk considering that there are still many tour dates to come.
Hey Gabi :)....
I've thought that TSMGO was tougher on Adam's cords, too... and have at times felt concern about the repeated performances of it night after night (perhaps a reason that QAL took it off the set list well into the NA tour)...
But hey, Adam himself mentioned in an interview just before this tour started that DSMN was the tough one for him (lower register) when asked which songs out of Queen's catalog was challenging for him. I'm thinking at least TSMGO is more of a natural range for him....
So perhaps some consolation? :))
Gabi, I wouldn't worry about Adam's voice. He knows how to take care of it. I don't mind the setlist change for this show. It's nice to hear TSMGO after so long.
I was lurking on Atop earlier today, and some of the posts there said that the French press is very hard in their reviews, esp. with non-French acts. But it sure looks and sounds to me like the crowd that was at the concert was crazy for Adam and the whole show. I loved the reaction to Brian's question, "How do you like the new man?" They went nuts.
I think we should be ready for at least a few mediocre reviews. That's just what happens sometimes. I hope that some over-defensive Glamberts won't go crazy replying to critical reviews. It just makes us all look pretty whiny. I hope some of the major reviews will be good. I think they will.
.....And speaking of TSMGO: WOW. OMG. Just... WOW.
HOLY SHMOLEY!!
Not only was it completely spectacular, spine-tingling, jaw-dropping fantastical... To me, Adam looked like he was having a blast singing it. :))))
Watched TSMGO on YouTube and loved the guy's enthusiasm with his arms up and totally in to it in the video. I think Adam definitely was a hit in Paris! Yay!
@yada and @Dee R Gee, I appreciate your "consolation" haha. Isn't it pathetic that I'm such a worrywart at times when Adam is having a blast? Still, I love DSMN and I missed it. I'll get over it, especially if that is the song that's hard on Adam. Hard to believe.
It's hard to believe he sings 21 songs in a concert, whew....and they are not easy songs vocally.
He must have leather lungs, diaphragm and vocal cords, as well as tight pants! Bravo!
I think Adam treats his voice like a well oiled machine. He must practice his breathing techniques daily, and I know he warms up his voice for about an hour before every show, going up and down the scale, making weird sounds with his voice and lips. A while back we had a peak at him doing it. Also he has talked about it in interviews. You can't expect his voice to be so on point all the time without a lot of special care. This is his life and most of his future earnings, he is no different than a serious opera singer. I doubt any other singer in a rock band does any of this. We see the finished product, but rarely see all the work done before hand.

Trained singers always warm up before they perform, regardless of what genre they sing.
Trained singers of all genres always warm their voices up before they perform.
Great performances in Paris but I don't like the screaming towards the end of The Show Must Go On (one of my absolute fave songs). And now almighty wrath will be upon me for saying that but I'm not a fan of screaming - it isn't necessary.
@5:19 I agree with you. That is probably the only song that I do not like that Adam has ever sung. I can see where people say Adam screams in that song. I defend him and say he does not scream, but that one I would have to agree it sounds like screaming. I like it when they leave that song out.
@4;19
Yes all trained singers warm up their voices first, but how many rock singers, or pop for that matter are trained. Most of them are musicians and just like to sing. They put most of their effort into the instrument they are playing, and not their voice.
I was at the concert last night and I loved the unexpected re-addition of TSMGO (although I miss DSMN that I love as well) and I didn't hear any screaming. (I think that it may just be from the recording coming across that way which gets distorted if the people around you are singing along.) No screaming from Adam but lots from the audience, screaming with excitement and at the sheer amazement at his stellar vocals in this song. The audience was loud but maybe not as loud as the shows in the UK because it was a smaller venue (theater vs arena) with less people in attendance. The roof is not high enough to accommodate the giant Q screen (but large enough to squeeze in the B stage). The venue is larger than the one in Vegas (no Q or B stage) and although it wasn't a sold out concert (upper areas were empty), everyone appeared to have enjoyed themselves very much. The French audience may not be as "loud & rowdy" as the UK ones, which I think may just be some cultural differences, but the level of appreciation for an outstanding concert is certainly very visible, audible and palpable! The cheering and stomping was, like Adam likes to say - Fierce! :)))
I saw QAL in London in 2012, then last year in Vancouver and Vegas (day 1) and then yesterday at the Zenith. Adam's confidence and ease with the band has certainly grown by leaps and bounds and his voice has matured beautifully and his lower register has become so much stronger and powerful compared to his first run with the band in 2012. It was still an amazing concert in 2012 but yesterday, it was as if he's suddenly gained so much more control over his vocals that I find so amazing and absolutely beautiful to listen to. Those subtle nuances that he's injected into the same songs, as if he's caressing the lyrics just melts my heart. So sensual! Loving the awesome transformation in Adam as an entertainer/performer and can't wait for A3 and the tour that will follow...
@6:13 @8:36
Definitely not screaming. To use that word just shows you don't know music. Besides vids taken by fans from audience most often have some sound issues.
@11:04
Thank you so much for your post! Whoa, you've been traveling and experiencing some lovely QALity times!!! Green with envy, but in a loving way.... :)))))
TSMGO had a couple of problems. Adam trying to signal Roger at the beginning and that ending. Not one of their better performances. But considering how good they usually are it's fine to occasionally have one not measure up.
I too didn't like the screaming in TSMGO. It really detracted from the performance of this wonderful song. Adam doesn't need to scream to sound fantastic.
Trained singers warm up their voices and maybe untrained singers do as well I guess that's something a lot of us will never know.

If you think screaming is the same as singing, then you don't know music.
Adam haters used to say that Adam was screaming; in my opinion, only a non fan would makes such a stupid uninformed disrespectful comment about this man's technical approach to his songs.
I truly believe those two uniformed mean spirited insensitive remarks were made by the same person; regarding their statement that Adam Lambert is "screaming" in TSMGO, PLEASE, give me a break!!
Adam is one of the best singers in the world, so, someone needs to get the facts straight; it's the audiences screaming about his great performances; not the other way around!
The only time I have heard the words "scream" describing
Adam's performances was from
non-fans and resentful jealous haters!! Just Saying!!!!!!!
@2:22 AM
I'm not a non-fan, a hater, a troll or anyone like that. I'm a Glambert and I've been a Glambert since Adam sang his 1st note on American Idol. And I know screaming from fans when I hear it and I know when a singer screams and Adam screamed some notes in The Show Must Go On at the Paris concert but continue to believe otherwise - I know you will.
