Adam Lambert is back! The wildly talented American Idol runner-up is recording new music and he’s spilling some info about what we can expect to ear from him next album, The Original High.
“Sonically it feels more contemporary than my previous material,” he tells HUNGER TV in a new interview. “It’s definitely pop but not bubblegum. We have avoided camp and theatrics and have favoured a darker, more grounded vibe, and at the same time, it will make you dance!”
Glambert continued: “Lyrically, it’s very very personal, the album has an overall bittersweet feel to it. Vocally, I think it’s my most tasteful, sophisticated work to date.”
Adam also talked a bit about the first single, “Ghost Town.” “It establishes itself in a very earthy, vulnerable way and transforms into a hypnotic dream full of surreal imagery and set to a minimal yet massive deep house beat,” he said. “The hook will worm its way into your ears after the first listen. Get ready!

Rehash rehash.

I would like to see these articles that are just reporting on an an existing interview to be in one post. Do we really need this post and the one two or three posts below by somethingelse reviews?

"Vocally, I think it’s my most tasteful, sophisticated work to date.” ~ Adam

This sentence in Adam's summary regarding his new album...is the basis on which Original High is built, I feel. That actually says it all.

I have high hopes for this album in every aspect imaginable. The only fear I have is that if they avoided camp and theatrics, and it's more sophisticated, that we don't lose the very things that make Adam's voice and songs special. I'm most likely reading too much into it and just need to trust it will be great. After all, we might get to hear more of Adam's sexy lower register! What do you guys think?

Dark and sophisticated sounds better to me than junky POP music.
Adam's voice has depth and strength as shown by WWTLF and SM.
I would describe both of them as dark and sophisticated.

RosiePosie :).... You articulated my very thoughts!
I think it's possible we may hear a few modifications, maybe??

However..... With that I also think that MM/SB likely may know what to do to highlight and feature Adam's voice along WITH ear-wormy hooks and tunes. My thinking anyway.....

I DO hope there are some richly laid out ballads on this record, too. I wanna dance, yes.... But I wanna bask in the glory and depth of Adam's incredible voice and ability to "take me to that place" in his songs.... Where I forget all else. (You know what I mean? :)) Its one of Adam's signatures ... One of his strengths.

One things for sure.... Regardless of his featured ranges or the full power of his voice on display... I think we're gonna have a blast with this record. I think we'll love it!

.... And I don't think the world has ANY idea what about to happen to them. Heeheehee..... :-D
