From MUSIC WEEK:

"Queen Pay Tribute To 'Illustrious And Inimitable' Manager"

EXCERPTS: CLICK HERE FOR FULL ARTICLE

"Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May (pictured) paid tribute to their long-serving manager, Jim Beach, for "being the glue that's held the band together for 40 years" at last night's Artist and Manager Awards."

"The duo presented Beach with the Peter Grant award, named after the late Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin manager, and awarded for outstanding achievement."

"Said Taylor: "Jim Beach has been the glue that's kept the band of Queen together for 40 years now. Without his tireless terrier like machiavellian plotting, we wouldn't really be around these days.""

"May agreed, adding that without Beach the band wouldn't be "anything like we are"."

" "I don't think we’re without talent, but without a manager like Jim, it wouldn’t have been able to find its fruition, and we certainly wouldn’t be here in the state that we are today, still alive!" he added."

"Beach used his acceptance speech to highlight the work both Taylor and May have done over the last 20 years to keep the band alive, including their latest worldwide tour that saw them perform 67 sold-out gigs with US singer/songwriter Adam Lambert."

Love this pic of all three of them!
I really miss the concerts. It was so amazing to be able to watch a new concert every couple of days.

MagicLady.... I've been feeling the same way. I'm missing QAL....

Glad they all are taking plenty of time to rest, recoup and reconnect with their families.

Eventhough I am BEYOND excited about Adam's upcoming album.... To some degree it's bittersweet. Rio will be here soon enough....

'Till then.... Come onnnnn April! Let's get this baby born. :D

So many excellent things ahead for Adam. :))

QAL is a magnificent matchup, but I am ready for Era 3 for Adam, too. Adam's career will be long and multi-faceted, long after the QAL is over. This is just the beginning for him. So great to see Queen's manager get his well-deserved props.

67 sold out gigs? There were 60 dates in the entire tour and most of them sold out but not all. Where do they get 67 from? What the hell am I missing here? Did that writer just pull that number out of his ass?

Ooh I would love another round of QAL too. I can handle it all. YAY

I hope adam will have a new band, and maybe a dj for the house influence.

I agree with you @2:39. I totally agree with you. This would definitely enhance his great vocals. After working with Queen; He probably really recognizes how important a great band is in backing his special talents. Also, the members of the Queen Band have beautiful voices themselves.

If Adam could get band members that have multiple talents he would be in very good shape. I would love to see Rufus with him!

I wonder if Adam will have a problem letting go of old band members that me feel that they are entitled to return; and therefore put a little guilty pressure on him to pull at his heart strings! I hope he will have the strength of move on for his on professional improvement!

He is so kind. Maybe he won't have to worry, if the old band all have other jobs!

There were 61 dates in 2014/15. If you add in the 6 in Europe previously, I guess it's 67...

Thanks glitzylady for posting the link to the full article. Jim Beach is a legend .... wonderful to be with Queen for 40 years. Long may the partnership continue.

Trust the number. It's confirmed and carefully calculated by those in the know.

Also there are very professional and meticulous people in this fandom, who calculate, count and make thorough statistics of most everything Adam related. If the figure would be incorrect, they would let the writer know...

4:20 p m. I imagine Tommy is the only band member who is stuck like glue to Adam. : (
