Exciting!
I suppose "WOW" is a bit ambiguous, can be taken various ways ... but I'm an optimistic person by nature, so I'm gonna go with optimism :). Looking forward to review.
Thanks for post.

When I hear the word "WOW" when someone is speaking about Adam Lambert in any form, especially his music at a time like this! It sounds very good, why would anyone think that this would mean negative?

Never ever occurred to me when I saw this. I was very excited about this "WOW"; and from what I have heard of the record so far, I say WOW, WOW, WOW AND it is all POSITIVE!

OT
YES!!!!!!!! Roger won the March Drum Madness poll - 50.51%. So close!! Many thanks to everyone who voted.

I agree, "wow" doesn't say a whole lot.... But, I'm going to take it in a positive sense along with you guys. Impressed and awed type of "WOW"...

.... A full review on Monday. Can hardly wait to read it!!! :)

"Wow" means "Wow" to me. If he wanted to be more ambivalent, he could have said "interesting" or "very different," or something like that. But "Wow" seems like a very positive response. I'm an optimist too. Eager to read the review on Monday!

Hooray! We got Roger to the top of the poll! The Queenberts were out in force. Yeah, yeah, we all know these polls don't mean anything in the big picture, but we Adam and Queen fans have made a statement of strong support. I know every drummer on that list is very very good. And the Rush drummer is AMAZING.

This poll meant a lot as our gift to Roger. He will be so happy. I hope he knows the Glamberts were supporting him as much or more than the Queenies.

Wow that's great, wow that has too much whistling, wow that's as good as Kickin In but will never see radio play either, wow I love it, wow that doesn't sound like Adam.

Let's take a poll on what we think it means.

I think it means very good.
At least Yahoo UK thinks so.

I can not see how anyone can take this negatively. Do you not know the meaning of the word WOW. wow

expressing astonishment or admiration.

cool, amazing, awesome, far out, hot damn;

I probably shouldn't feed the trolls... but you do understand what a fansite/fan blog is for, right?

Fair, strong opinions and posts being shared here, no need for snark imho.

Hah! What about Wow you packed on the pounds girl. Just kidding.

8:53 or how about wow your butt is really hurting today.

Just heard @adamlambert's Ghost Town. Epic.

9:46 AM, wow, you are cynical. Ha ha, reference intended. I'm not a troll. I was trying to show both positive and negative versions of wow and to make a fun game of it. But don't play if you don't get it.

9:49 AM, good one.

Who is the negative nick or Nellie who won't take WOW as a positive to Mr. Lambert's upcoming album! The overall consensus is that a WOW by any other name is still a WOW and in this instance means very good news for Adam and his new music! Can we just all say a collective exciting WOW, WOW, WOW.

I have heard that when Adam Lambert walks into a room; there is usually a collective, "WOW"; and when he opens his mouth to sing; even a WOW does not justify the breathtaking amazing sound of this Songbird!! It will take at least a dozen WOW'S and that would just be to start!!!!!

This is so fun, Wow!

I am just bringing information to others. It's not personal.

Shosanna is not going to put out any type of bad vibes to Adams song, her job is to make him look good. Wow can only mean one thing that people like the song.

Information, riiiight. Calling someone a troll but it's not personal. LOL.

Chillax.

@9:49 AM

An attempt to fat shame anyone is not cool! Sure you have some other snarky examples you can use. Better yet; let's get into positive.

Judging a person's looks should be a no, no!! No glory points for you! Not kidding!

Wow, Adam's new single is incredible!
and
Wow, some people are touchy.

9:46 I think you hit the nail right on the head. I'll add passive aggressive to her resume also.

So the mean comments are back :P

When I posted this thread I was assuming the reactions to the tweet from @OfficialCharts would be excitement here on the blog, not snarky remarks.

All of the feedback from radio people ie DJ's, Music Directors, Program Directors, and others who have heard the new music have been one big overwhelming "WOW!!!!" In a very positive sense.

I would assume that is what the WOW in capital letters means here as well..

I'm also very excited to hear their review of Adam Lambert's "Ghost Town" on Monday..

This would have been a fine thread without the sensitive sallies and the comment police.

I take WOW and EPIC from music people as a good thing. I add this AWESOME and can't wait until 4/21.

9:46 here, and I am very sorry. I do indeed see your point, well made actually. I was rushing a bit before, I am completely in the wrong, I offer you my apologies. And to reiterate, you made a good point actually imho! Of course we are all strongly assuming, absolutely feeling that WOW was only meant in the most positive sense... but that tweet just wasn't as conclusive say as, this one up thread:

So Adam Lambert's new single is bloomin' AMAZING - we will tell you allllll about it on Monday 🎉

Again, I apologize, to all reading actually, and I will try to read posts more clearly in the future before I post any kind of response! Thanks for replying 9:57, you took up a "teachable moment" for me today, lol, and I appreciate it! Take Care

10:49 AM, thank you so much, I really appreciate your apology. Takes a special person to take a second look and apologize. Wishing you a great day :) from 9:57

Btw @9:57

This is 9:46 & 10:49 here again

I am not April 7 10:03 AM...
not sure what that is about, but that's okay, I don't need to understand, and it's not my business... again, I'm sorry I touched off anything negative. I did actually see the point you were making 9:57.

Who's on first?

I think passionate Adam fans want Adam to get ALL the praise he deserves. In the past, we all went WOW to Trespassing and it got a lot of good press, but in the scheme of things, unfortunately it didn't get the play we all HOPED for. In that respect, some may be a little suspicious and oversensitive to just a word..."WOW". We've seen negative on Adam for no reason than the obvious prejudice that permeats some of the music industry. So ne-r-r-v-v-o-u-s about a one word reaction is some fans ways of trying to get other people to reassure them it won't all fall apart for Adam. And someone did by posting other positive comments. This single will blow minds and hearts and "WOW" by these sources wouldn't probably comment at all if not for their excitement. Telling us full review Monday, means read my review fans, you will love it! IMHO

Anonymous said...

9:46 you come across as someone who like me has been gushing Adam's praises for years and get frustrated when others don't. He deserves gushing about, and yes in our hearts and mind "Wow" just doesn't quite give us the info. we want to hear. MORE PLEASE comes to mind as we sit on the edge of our seats waiting for the world to go WOW in the most exciting way. The "wow" got the attention he wanted as he knows we will all look for the Monday review. He left us wanting more and knew it would give us fits till we KNOW more. And the teasing keeps us blogging, right?

To follow up April 7 9:56's great post - unless I don't understand correctly, @DavidGrapeJuice also tweeted this, after the original "EPIC" tweet:

People are going to go crazy when they hear this song...especially those who can whistle.

Hope that's true! :)

Lets just wait till Monday, and see what they have to say.

Amen to that!

I think many of us still feel betrayed by the Trespassing experience. High praise for that album, but no acceptance by radio. I know I feel that way. It's hard not to be kind of skeptical about the praise we are hearing for GT. It's like, "here we go again." Great music, they all say. But will it really get heard by the masses? I am choosing to be optimistic about GT and TOH. I think things are really different this time around. Adam has more professional support, more world-wide cred (QAL). His fan base has grown. I truly believe that the WOW in this tweet is sincere. Sometimes, we can over-think things to the point of lunacy. It's a song. It's sounds pretty interesting so far. The feedback has been positive. No reason to doubt the sincerity of the tweeters. I'm excited to see the real review on Monday. Chill out, people! It's not that deep.
