The Adam Lambert edition of UK mag Attitude hits newsstands today (no fooling), and the cover story details his life From Idol To Icon.
Among the topics covered is the fraternity of gay pop stars that he and Sam Smith belong to:
“I think with me and Sam, there’s definitely an understanding there, like: ‘Hey gurl, how you doing?’ [laughs] But you know, there’s only a few of us actually, on a mainstream level. I think we’re building a little clique, I hope, but I haven’t met that many. I mean, Elton John is amazing, what a sweetheart, and Boy George is also incredible. I’ve sat down and had lunch with him before, he’s so smart and has been though A LOT, and now he’s in a really good, healthy space, and loves music and is DJing and is still really connected to pop culture. He was really interesting to talk to.”

Come to think of it...of all the endearing names we give to Adam...like in my case, I call him Handsome Adam, I like it because it fits him and it rhymes...also Knight of the Night because when he sings he seems to be doing battle and killing all the dragons/high notes lol! Also, Phantom because he reminds me of Phantom of the Opera...as he once remarked his makeup/theatrics sometimes acts as a mask. But ! the one that fits him most I think is ta-da... Killer Queen because he is a killer and a queen. lwl!
never understood why the term "gurl" is thrown loosely around. If you really knew what it is like being a "girl" and all the troubles that come with it, you would think again. I have stuck a question mark on that one for a long time.
That's just 'gay ' talk. Most straight guys don't say that to another guy. To stress another point, at no time did Adam say he wanted to collaborate with Sam, or duet. Adam is just happy that another gay person is hitting the mainstream charts, and winning awards. So far he says there have been so few of them, they should form a small clique.
Everybody uses "guys" in their talk, in Spanish you say "hombre" (among other words...lol) when talking to people, male or female...
