"American Idol" made TV history for the first decade of the show's history. Now, with its ratings plunging, "Idol" will itself become history – its fifteenth and final season will air next year – and San Diegans can try out for the show, which made a star of former North County singer Adam Lambert and a near-star of former Chula Vista singer Jessica Sanchez.
