Adam Lambert's "The Original High: What You Need To Know"

Excerpts from the article/review:

The dark prince of pop returns today (June 15th) with his brand new album The Original High, here’s everything you need to know about it…
This album is a lot more pop, plenty more mainstream and a lot, lot dancier. None of those are bad things.
Does it deliver? This is a big pop album full of massive tunes, if this doesn’t make Lambert an absolute household name, it’s hard to imagine what will.

Glamberts, let's chase our own Original Highs as fans and make TOH number one again.

The production of this album is phenomenal with fresh new artistic sound. It definitely deserves to get awards. Especially Grammys. Let's buy, gift, and stream this amazing album. Adam did an amazing work of art to satisfy everyone's taste. From floor banger sound of The Light to heart ranching sound of There I Said It to rock sound of Lucy and Heavy Fire. And yet he made it all cohesive and well blended to sort of tell a story. And what a great story it is in a great sound of a new music.

Let's all participate and support to make this album number one on Billboard chart.

Another great interview.

Multiple buying by Glamberts may get his album to #1 again but that doesn't give a true perspective of how many new people are buying it.

I agree. Glamberts buying a multitude of The Original High album doesn't indicate to Adam and his label how many other folk are buying his album. Adam needs more new fans to buy his album/s.

The Popology review was very good and makes some good points that I'm sure many of us have thought of ourselves. First of all, Baxter (the reviewer) says that this album likely will not attract new fans because it doesn't contain any "simple" pop songs that are the most marketable. He mentions MM and Shellback working with Taylor Swift on her mega-hits. Baxter says Adam should have a few of those types of songs on TOH to attract listeners. So, I guess dumbing down is the key? Adam has always been rather intellectual. His thoughtful conversation, his lyrics, etc. reflect that. He is not for those who always want the simplest songs. Those songs may top the charts a lot, but they are not what Adam is all about. I guess we Glamberts should be flattered that we are fans of a man whose music requires some higher-level thinking and a little pre-knowledge in order to get all those wonderful references and allusions. There aren't many singers who do what Adam does. Maybe more listeners will rise to his level so he won't have to dumb it down. Might take time.

Oh, forgot about the other thing. It's SO true that multiple buying by a finite number of fans doesn't guarantee success of an album. That's what happened to TP. After we bought our butts off, there was no one left to buy. You can't fill a concert venue with a finite number of fans who just bought multiple copies of an album. I know Adam is gaining fans, and our buying efforts are helping, but bottom line, new fans have to buy the music and buy concert tickets.

I think Another Lonely Night would be a great "simple" hit song. I love it! I also think that There I Said It, Rumors, and Underground could be hits, too. If Lucy would be released to the "rock" stations, it would be a big hit. GhostTown is actually my #8 favorite off the album. It seems like the best songs are not released first, and then, the stations won't even play the good ones (BTIKM and NCOE instead of Trespassing and Cuckoo).

There I Said It and The Original High are my fave songs on the TOH album.
