It is interesting to check on Adam's playlist in Morongo, a kind of draft of what will become, I hope , a full concert playlist:
-different approaches to old songs, my favorite, without competition, is the out-of-this-world Outlaws intro.LOL The playful reggae version of If I Had You, divorce ! our ways will go on different directions, it wasn't for me in the time of Bob Marley, it isn't today either.LOL
-a much more varied setlist, more diversified vocal approaches, from the sad, beautiful , apologize voice in There I Said It,( I have no doubt, it has become a favorite of most of the fans) to the subtle, sophisticated and so rarely used low notes in After Hours. This simple song depends entirely on Adam's voice, which is great.
There I Said It, seems to me a song in the same vein as Underneath,Underground, a song about a dysfunctional couple, a heartbroken Adam sings about a relationship eroded by lies, deceit, , distrust. Is one of the partners a "pretender", Adam doesn't say.We can only guess that it has left scars, that it's easy to trace the tracks of his tears. The melody is beautiful, as usual Adam has replaced the violins, he is able to transmit nuances of distraught, but, I'd also love to hear him accompanied by a symphonic orchestra, an old dream of mine.
