Oh Adam why did you suprise that no one took your documents in Russia?? We, russians, are better that you think!

You know, I prefer the Southern way of etiquette when it comes to delicate matters of the human body. When I grew up, we never talked about gas or "beaking wind", bowel habits, belching, burping contests, menstrual periods, douching, and on and on, as if they were dinner topic conversations. My mother was such a delicate Southern belle and I am so proud of my upbringing. Today's generation has no topic off limits. Now, I will never be able to look at Ed Sheeran without the knowledge that he has exposed to the world that he "shat" his pants on stage. Do we really need to that badly know if our rock or pop stars are human? Adam always so graciously answers these private matter questions, but, in my outdated opinion, (I guess), I for one, do not need to know this information, even though I know it is all intended for fun. I do not want to watch my rock star writhing on the stage floor with all his sexiness while simultaniously "breaking wind". JMO. Margarita Lady

@ Margarita Lady......I was raised in that culture and I do know what you mean. I frequently feel TMI is shared. I did the whole routine, Charm School, Cotillion, Yes Sir, Yes Ma'am and I was 33 the day the first swear word passed my lips! My daughters were 9 and 12 when our new car, for about the 20th time stalled in traffic.....I said "damn".....I stunned myself and in the rear view mirror I saw my girls who were shocked and waiting for me to be struck dead!

I am still a Yes Sir and Yes Ma'am-er, but my swear word vocabulary has grown and it's been decades since I gave up wrist length 'little white gloves'........a la Audrey Hepburn!

@JAK-I knew that if any Glambert agreed with me, it would definitely be you!!! I am also a "Charm School" graduate and I fully remember the classes where we were taught to sit like proper ladies with our legs crossed tightly together, or, secondly, our legs pressed together and pulled back under our torsos with our ankles crossed, or, next, our legs pressed together in front of our seated bodies, with our heels raised off of the floor and the weight of our legs pressed on our tip toes. And then, never forget the white gloves-the proper way to put them on, hold them, take them off, and so on, and so on.........G-d forbid, you would never speak of any topic that was not acceptable in public, let alone pass gas or "break wind" loud enough for another person to hear you. Young women named their periods special names because it was so distasteful to say to anyone you had your period. They would, for instance, say, "Mary is visiting me this week". My mother always told us to keep our toilet habits to ourselves and a mystery to everyone else. I am so amazed at how liberally the young people speak today---for instance when the male students use the term "dump" for a bowel movement as they speak to each other. I hear it all, each and every day, and when I drive home from work, I feel thankful for my upbringing juxtaposed against the frivolity in speech of today's youthful society..........I realise that Adam is a product of today's speech and that nothing shocks him, and he totally feels free to express himself with no repercussions. However, I still prefer the classy road to bodily functions, which is clearly "the road less traveled by", according to a famous poet, and for me this has made all the difference! Margarita Lady
