Probably my favorite song that Adam performs with Queen, would like to hear more of this "duet"!
I think Adam has the stronger vocals even though they have different singing voices.
Dark Side, I agree. I have no disrespect for Freddie at all, of course. He is a legend. But Adam has the stronger, richer voice, IMO. That's why Brian and Roger were so awed by Adam in the first place. They knew he could handle their music effortlessly and with the right sort of panache.
It's my favorite too
I feel there are two aspects:
Adam sings 100% capitalising on his resonance chambers with more control. Freddie tends to force his singing/voice out much of the time. Both different styles but Adam's seems finer and has more vibrato.
However, I think Freddie is a more advanced song/music composer...one of the reasons could be he composes his lyric and music score all by himself on his piano, sometimes with his band; Adam gets much help in the composition respect though it doesn't mean it's lesser in the final product; though the emotional essence may be compromised.
Frankly, there is really no need for any comparison...they are both definitely musical geniuses each with their own particular strengths.
Let me just say, all I wanna say..... I love this fan edit tweet of Adam & Freddie "duetting" -- brilliant! :)
I find any comparison between the two, a futile enterprise. Adam sings the Queen songs with his great skill and magnificent voice.
Freddie sang the songs with every fiber of his being, Freddie inhabited the music, he WAS the songs.
Well, agree "Freddie inhabited the music, he was the songs." With this in mind, didn't Adam fulfill this criterion in the Queen songs he sang ? with his own interpretations and at times exceeded the Originals. He has become synonymous with songs like The Show Must Go On, composed by Freddie, WWTLF, composed by Brian. In fact these two are the most difficult songs in terms of singing, the power notes and the emotions front and centre. Adam too, consummated the Queen songs, in his own way.
Like I said above...there isn't much ground on which to compare because they are masters in their own area of expertise.
No I don't believe he did. They are and will always be Queens music.
Adam sings the songs beautifully, but they are not his songs, they will continue to be synonymous with Freddie IMO.
There are two issues here...of course they are Queen's music theoretically, they created and performed them. But Adam studied Queen/Freddie before he proceeded to attempt singing the Queen songs. He managed to wear those Freddie shoes nice and snug...to mean that Adam managed to immerse into the Queen songs, not just singing them with "skill" and his "magnificent voice". And that is the main difference between him and other frontman such as PR. So, that's what I mean by he consummated the Queen songs, he didn't just sing ! them and people knew the difference loud and clear...that's why he's going to Rio etc.
