Elder statesman? Adam's just reaching his prime. But as an LGBT figure, he's accomplished quite a bit with a lot g fit ahead.
If Adam is edging toward elder statesman status....I am barreling toward antiquity status.
I can see that Adam may be sort of an elder statesman because he is so far in advance when it comes to understanding what it means to be true to yourself and being authentic, but certainly not when it comes to his actual age. Calling him elder in any other way but maturity and wisdom is simply ridiculous!
If he is an elder statesment then I'll take more of that. He is downright talented, smart, gorgeous, sexy, articulate, funny.......yep, I'll have some more Adam Lambert anyday.
If I would have known something that stupid was going to be in the magazine I wouldn't have ordered it.
Well he's may not be that elder but he definitely laid the groundwork for those coming after. He met each and every hurdle head on and there were some high hurdles. He's a brilliant spokesman for the LGBT community!!!!
I think "elder statesmen" is obviously a fine compliment to Adam's long time involvement in the GLBT community as a celebrity who can and does use his ever-increasing "voice" and clout for good...
It is not in the truest sense of the word "elder" (referring to his **advanced** age of 33) so much, but more to his ever-evolving presence over the past 6 plus years as an "out and proud of who he is", seasoned and articulate spokesperson, role model and encourager for GLBT youth, and others who may be struggling, and his contributions and honors received.
It's a good thing, not stupid at all.. Although guessing Adam may get a bit of a chuckle over that description of himself if he reads it! "Me = "elder"???? What the...??!!!"..
Nice write up from OUT, re the previous month's article featured in their magazine.. IMO...
Since age is a big deal in the pop scene nothing needed to be called out about his age at all. I lost track who was saying what that article mentioned so many other publications. If some of us didn't quite get it many others reading the article didn't either.
