Unconfirmed: Adam Lambert's Next Single is "Another Lonely Night"

@TheRealDuckBert, whose very consistent tweets we've posted many times before, just tweeted (from a tip from another Adam fan / Twitter user, @GlamDianee) a Facebook post from someone named Jessica Ann LaRosa who, it appears, happens to be at one of the shooting locations in Las Vegas for Adam's new music video....and, indirectly, has revealed the next single!

The reason I say "unconfirmed" is simply that neither Adam nor Warner Bros has actually stated that this is the next single and we will have to wait until they make the official announcement.

FYI: The Peppermill is a popular 24-hour diner on the Las Vegas Strip.

Love ALN! Sounds like it's true. It's ear candy. Hope the vid kicks butt.

NOooo...it's not even TOH? It doesn't even make sense for this cluster-fuck of cast...http://adamlamberttv.blogspot.com/2015/08/new-adam-lambert-single-coming-soon.html

At least release a summer song...the title track! Where is the fun Adam? I can't wallow in sadness all the time :(

It's:

THE LIGHT...1st
TOH...2nd
ALN...3rd

Release "The Light"! A happy tune!

I'm so done...

My fav is TOH, A LOT BECAUSE OF THE LYRICS. BUT FACE IT, LYRICS,DON't mean a thing for radio play. So I guess ALN is the most radio friendly, and for now that's what they're looking for. I really love this whole CD.

I like ALN a lot but I thought the title track TOH was a great choice for the next single....it being summer and all and his great vocals, beat etc. (well he has great vocals on every track). Anyway, I know nothing about how he and his team select the singles but there are so many great songs on this album, I'm sure we'll hear lots of them eventually as singles!

The more I listen to ALN, I'm realizing how catchy it is and I love the melody too. Good luck Adam, I'm behind you whatever you decide!

Since he's performing a 30 minute set this Saturday at the Music Festival for WSOBV ( I'm going!!!) he'll probably include ALN. So I'm looking forward to hearing it live. (his live performances are unbelievable).

I think we all have our top favorite songs on the album - mine is TOH - but I can see why the label wanted to stay consistent with the "urban angst" vibe, and the "loneliness" theme probably works really well for fall. ALN is a great song, and I have a feeling that the sound is very appealing to the younger folks. I can imagine that TOH or The Light will be next, may be around spring time.

NOO it has to be TOH it's the best song on the album it would totally slay on radio.

Anonymous said...

If this is true, I am surprised, I thought it would be TOH. Though ALN is my favourite, just thought TOH would appeal to a younger set as well. But what do I know?

Dee R Gee said...

I"ll bet TOH will be single #3. And there WILL be a single #3. It will be the perfect lead-in for his solo tour. Just my theory.

Dee R Gee said...

I think TOH will slay on radio in due time after ALN finishes slaying. I think ALN in a good change-up from GT. LOVE all the songs!

Don't know why all the duplicate posts. Postin from my phone must be it. Sorry.

broddybounce said...

@Dee: with your comments being duplicated, I'm wondering: after you post, what's your next action? Are you hitting the 'back' button to get back to the site? I've experienced myself, when you do that it repeats the post. If you want to get back to the 24/7 home page after commenting, you have to go to the site fresh by whatever you usually do to get there initially (bookmark or favorite, putting URL into browser, etc).

Not sure if u know, but if u do duplicate your post by mistake, you can go back onto that post and delete it so we're not seeing double. You may have seen a few other readers with 2nd posts that say "comment deleted by user," or something to that effect. That's usually when posts are duplicated. Let me know if any questions! :)

ALN is not one of my favs on the album, much prefer EITN, TISI or TOH. It doesn't sound top 40 to me. JMHO
I thought like many people that the next single was going to be TOH, but since we are on the waning end of summer, maybe next spring they will release it.
That being said, I know a lot of fans love this song and I am sure Adam and his people know what they are doing in choosing it!

Can't wait to see the video for it!

Daydreaminmylif said...

@Broddybounce, I too have duplicate posts and will try what you said to stop it from happening.

I love ALN and would be thrilled if it is the next single. Maybe he is saving TOH for holidays or something strategic (awards shows)???

Anonymous said...

The Light would be my 1st choice as the next single.

kitty said...

Ok ALN it is !! Looking forward to the video.

The Ligth said...

Get with the program Glamberts...the only option for next single is THE LIGHT!

"THE LIGHT" is way more superior and trendy than TOH. Once THE LIGHT slays the US charts and the whole universe, only then there will be chances for more singles...

Get behind "The Light", and then TOH can get released for summer 2016 ;)

LOL I'm in a (half)of a frightening minority, I'm still in love with Lucy and The Light, why nobody wants Lucy, it's a pop song whose guest star happens to be an iconic rock guitar player?! For more than a half a year Adam has been playing rock, pop/rock , power rock ballads, power pop ballads and he has been great. I'm not crazy about personal lyrics, my , let's call it , rejection comes from my musical past/present , it has nothing to do with Adam. Does the lyric"my heart is a ghost town" make the song a personal song? What should I do if I were Adam's label, should I keep betting on a horse that has brought me success but not the wreath, should I take the risk and put my money on something new and unexpected ? Adam's promotion has been great, yet, I think it's missing the surprise element, I've been watching/following in parallel, Adam's promotion and the promotion of a legendary heavy metal band.Nothing leaked , nobody tweeted confirmed/unconfirmed info , and paradoxically they all agreed, everybody wanted to be surprised. Speculations can be fun, but as far as I am concerned, news/info in advance kind of spoils my curiosity.

broddybounce said...

Pan, you might be surprised, but you will find me with you in that minority! "Lucy" is my favorite track on TOH! Every fiber of my being vibrates in ecstasy (can I say that here?) when Adam reaches the stratosphere singing the refrains "Runaway-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay!" Those are some incredible notes!

I actually think it should be released as a single in Fall or Winter (Northern Hemisphere) as it would be perfect at those times, as opposed to being a summer song -- and, of course, yes, wouldn't hurt to promote Adam's friend Brian's involvement as well (I always wondered why RCA didn't promote Bruno Mars' participation in NCOE when released as a single -- he was red hot at the time -- but then there is a lot to wonder about RCA).

But that all said, I just think (IMHO) that "Lucy" is extremely catchy ("hook-y"), well-written and well-produced, and would do great on radio!

kitty said...

11:45 what does get behind "The Light" mean ? Ignore The label and Adam's choice. Start whining on Twitter and Billboard ?

choons said...

Personally I am hoping for Original High - I do love the other choices but OH seems to me to be made for radio - of course it would be great to have vids for ALL his tunes eventually - but anticipation is half the fun I guess.

Dee R Gee said...

broddy, thanks for the suggestion about my duplicate posts. Maybe it happens more often when I'm posting from my phone. I'm on my laptop most of the time I post, and it doesn't seem to happen as much, so maybe it's how I "go back" on my phone. Anyway, thanks for the tip. Hope it stops happening.

As for the single, I will support whichever song it is with every fiber of my being. I love TOH, ALN, The Light, EITN, etc. All radio-friendly, IMO. I just have a feeling that Adam is hinting strongly at ALN. And apparently a few "slips" have been made by those who were there at some of the filming. Meanwhile, GT just keeps on going. That song is having quite a life.

MINNIE said...

From the first time I heard ALN I simply loved it. Sorta has a rhythm n blue vibe and I really hope this is the unlikely sleeper hit. I can just see some country artist person relating to the lyrics about loneliness, hindsight and just flat out being alone, when the special person is gone. I'll definitely play, play and replay the mv.

I can't wait for the new video and will be happy with whatever Adam and his team chooses. But I have to say my favorite is "Lucy" and would drop over with excitement if they release this song. I think it has everything, some pop, rock and his voice is out of this world. Plus Brian May adding to the song, can't go wrong with this one.

I hate to rain on your parade, and mine too, I think Lucy's fate will be similar to Runnin, another standout among the others, it will never be a single, for the simple reason that it is not a favorite of the fans.Runnin was very much loved, Lucy, apparently not.I wonder why.Maybe because it was not written by Adam ?! Single, no single I'm glad that we finally can start a Lucy fan club, a handful of passionate and loyal devotees. I have a dream today, that one day Adam and Brian will give a drop-dead live performance, one that everybody will be talking about, fans, reviewers, specialists,a performance that will make us even prouder. I also wrote about our flirtatious Adam:"I'm not a waify little 22-year old models I'd like to be , for fashion's sake." and about the naughty Lucy. Three times.

Another Lonely Night is THE song that really stood out for me when I first sampled each of the songs on this album. I even like it better than Ghost Town. I think it's more universally relatable. I guess I must me the only one who is not really into The Original High. I am, though, very disappointed that Ghost Town has not taken off in the United States, but is getting high chart positions and high sales in other countries. It doesn't make sense. Of course, where I live, none of the radio stations have ever given much respect to Adam's music. The only way people can request it is if they get to hear it in the first place. Why oh why is a talent like Adam not steam rolling over the mediocre talent that seems to hit the charts in this country?

Cheri said...

I agree, Artemis. ALN is a universal hit.....if they play it. I live in the Mpls, MN and have yet to hear Ghost Town on our stations! It is SO ridiculous that a major city is not playing his hit song! I feel your frustration about Adam's music being played. As you said they have to "hear it to request it"! Wish his label could get it played everywhere in the states. So much redundancy and mediocrity on the top of the charts! It makes NO sense to me.....just makes me sad for the lack of appreciation for such an incredible talent, not getting the airplay. Just venting:) xo

Dear Lucy fan club,

Only Brian May can pull off the guitar solo so awesomely, so Lucy and Rumors can not become singles unless Brian and Tove Lo come along for the promos.

Though I envision a special performance of Lucy with Brian on an award show, and if Adam releases THE LIGHT he will get famous enough to guarantee that ;)

broddybounce said...

Pan: Thank you for that. I do have to add, though, on one of the interviews Adam did in July for the TOH promo -- it was the HITS 97.3 FM in Miami "TOH Listening Party," the post of which you can find here:

http://adamlamberttv.blogspot.com/2015/07/adam-lambert-at-hits-973-fm-hits.html

Two DJs interviewed him, one male, one female, in between each track, and the male one said (at approx 46:30 in the video) that he tweeted "to Glamberts all over" as to which of the songs on the album were their favorites and he said that there were two main answers: "The Light" and "Lucy." Don't know how scientific/accurate that 'poll' was, but it's an interesting little factoid.

And that's for you, too, Craig! :)

Unknown said...

If he is going for a vibey song, why all that strange cast for the video? It should have been all about Adam’s emotions. So I’m not thrilled about the video either :/
ALN is fantastic as long as radios don’t ignore Adam as usual. Problem is if it doesn’t last on radios, it won’t have another life as a club banger.

I’m still disappointed that Sleepwalker wasn’t released. After his powerful performance on Leno, Even Jay Leno told him Sleepwalker was going to get big, and it was his best. Sorry to say this, but IIHY’s production and lyrics were immature so it made people not to take Adam seriously. No more missteps this time. FYE was also catchy if it wasn’t for the raunchy lyrics and the infamous performance that doomed its fate. The video is his hottest though. Like a recent commentator said, I’m still waiting for part 2 of that badass Adam I fell in love with.

Since Lucy can’t become a single, “The LIGHT” is his most versatile, kickass and sophisticated song in every sense…WITHOUT A DOUBT

broddybounce said...

Craig: Thank you for that terrific assessment -- you have obviously been a very dedicated fan for awhile and I appreciate your well-thought-out response.

I do have to add, however: I don't agree that "...Lucy can't become a single..."

I think it is one of the several songs on the album that is very radio-friendly, extremely hook-y, and will rope a lot of people in with both Adam's incredible high notes in the refrains, as well as Dr. May.

Just for me, I don't think that Brian May if can't do all the promos is a strong enough reason to not release the track as a single. If Adam and WB feel (and research) that the song has the potential to be a hit, I'm sure they'll release it. As far as whether or not Brian participates on all promo appearances / performances of the song is a "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it" decision for Adam and WB. In this day and age there are creative ways to get around almost anything.

That being said, don't get me wrong -- I, too, love "The Light" and fully agree with you on its potential and DEFINITELY hope that it's a single too, at some point. That is definitely another song on the album, like "Ghost Town," that grows on you more and more with each listen.

I remember with TRESPASSING an RCA executive said that the album has singles that will keep the album going strong well into the next year, or, if memory serves, he may have said the next two years (or something to that effect). I agreed! So many great tracks! It's just that those executives and/or A&R folk somehow didn't strategize properly as to which songs were best for radio and the timing of their release, not to mention the promo for the songs that they did choose to release.

Warner Bros, though? Contrary to RCA, I think they know well what they're doing, they UNDERSTAND Adam (refreshing!), and I have full confidence in Adam and WB that everything will be done right as far as single releases and promos.

But, for now, whatever they choose as the single, assuming ALN is for the US too (see my latest post on that with Idolator wondering if ALN is just for International and something different for US), it will be great on the radio and we need to support the song as much as we can. The more successful this single is, the more singles will be released in the future.

And I'm hoping that WB will start doing for Adam what they and other record companies are doing for some other artists, such as Taylor Swift: start stack releasing singles. In other words, release a single, let it get so much up the chart, and then already release the next one, so there are at least two. Have you noticed this strategy of late? One single helps the other, and vice versa. This is something I don't think records companies would ever have DREAMED would work back in the '60s, '70s, '80, etc., but it seems to be working well for several artists now. Another example of an artist doing that would be Maroon 5.

Excellent conversation everybody!!

Dear Lucy Fan Club
Shamefully while I was thinking about what I was going to post, broddybounce was faster and she had already posted good thoughts on many issues that had also been of great concern to me. JOKING !
First thing first, all respectable fan clubs have have a "battle cry", , hmm, Keep on Fighting could be good. It's been inspired by Craig's fierce perseverance, yes, broddybounce is right , you display a praiseworthy dedication to The Light. The song is good , it took me a time to like it but now I'm hooked .Odd, because I've always thought that in pop, unlike rock, fans are not interested to listen to a song twice, thrice in search of precious gems, a beautiful melodic line, spiritual lyrics unless you're a hard core fan. A pop song can't grow on you because many of them are not songs for all seasons, other pop songs, so many, are waiting in the row to grab possible/future fans for a summer, for a week.Even Adam has declared something like this recently. And there's another thought that has been haunting me since I read that post, here on Adam 24/7. Not long ago someone wrote something like, they'd better release a song to our liking, we are the buyers. I have to admit that she/he is partially right, Adam's label wanted to please the fans and asked us twice which was our favorite song. It was The Original High. I think they have no way back now.

I love Sleepwalker. It is amazing. Heard him sing it live during his Glamnation Tour. He was terrific and the audience went crazy when he was finished. I bought the DVD of the tour and listen to that song over and over again and never get tired of it. It is a vocal masterpiece.

The Ligth said...

@kitty,
It means stop whining that he didn’t release TOH so it has to be next, cause THE LIGHT needs to be 3rd before anything else…

If Adam and his label always made the best choice, he would have been on top of the charts over all the auto-tuned garbage of the past 6 years, though I think WarnerBros realizes Adam’s potential, and hope that they can see he can have more than one single at a time.
No dispute that ALN is beautiful, and one that I love to go to sleep to. Especially, love it when Adam gets into it live and sings higher at the end. At first, I was bummed that new single isn’t a happy song, but I do hope that enough blue people hear it on the radio to get hooked on it.

I’ve supported Adam unconditionally all these years, but face it he’s getting old for a pop-star. He doesn’t have time for more trial and error. If he doesn’t reach the peak soon, when he gets to almost 40, he won’t be able to compete for attention with straight teen heartthrobs who will dance their swag off until girls are out of their panties…

The Ligth said...

It will be epic to see Adam perform Lucy with Brian May. I also think Lucy is an awesome rush, but I didn’t get the story at first. Was like…who’s Lucy anyway and why she’s running away? So it may not be immediately relatable.

THE LIGHT is a gem because it is rare to hear a trendy banger without cheap lyrics that you will actually love. Adam can school all the crap-singers who try to sell sex on how to make a dance hit without being trashy!

How can people fairly pick the favorite if Adam snubs THE LIGHT? :(

If he performs THE LIGHT once, the battle is over :))

The Ligth said...

Any update when the video is coming out?

I kind I had a feeling it was going to be another lonely night! A freaking perfect choice Adam! Your new album is so fly! I love every single song on it! Congrats Adam no one is more deserving than you! God I love you!
