Via kiis1011: ADAM LAMBERT WANTS TO CONNECT WITH HIS FANS IN NEW ALBUM

The seriously beautiful Adam Lambert spoke to Matt and Jane this morning about his album and upcoming performances! Matt and Jane loved the simplicity of the meaning behind his new album and they spoke about how happy he is that's it's out and that fans are responding well to it. Adam admitted that his previous albums were a bit more silly, ridiculous and over the top.

I think the last sentence in the given paragraph has been quoted a little out of context. Adam said his previous two albums were "kind of conceptual, theatrical, a bit more silly, ridiculous and over-the-top..." and not just the latter part. I thought his first two albums were interesting, full of rhythm like 'Strut' where he sang with a cane and tailed, striped coat and even 'Down The Rabbit Hole' in his purple costume and feathered top hat...rather refreshing, innovative and 'Soaked' was like opera on a pop stage. But like Adam says, his new Original High album helps him "connect with his fans" more; I suppose it delves directly into the ups and downs of life, love, disappointments etc. I like all his three albums, above all, the methodical, power-driven variations of his vocals.

I, for one, loved and still love Adam's first two albums and I liked them BECAUSE they were conceptual, theatrical, and over-the top. Nor did I ever feel or think they were "silly" or "ridiculous." In fact, I connected to them straight-away and Adam ought not to dismiss what he's done in the past because what he did provided an immense amount of entertainment and pleasure and yes, Adam's performance---not just singing, but putting it all out there in "Can't Let You Go"--is astounding.

I too loved both his previous albums - they weren't silly - he shouldn't feel like he has to denigrate his past efforts - makes his fans seem silly too then.
Adam, just acknowledge you have evolved and don't write off what we still love.

The words "silly, ridiculous" were used by Adam to elaborate on "theatrical" which was chopped off. When I listened to the interview, I felt he meant "silly" as whimsical, fun and not silly/foolish/degrading. And that's why I said it was quoted out of context...the statement needs to be taken as a whole rather than leaving out the first two important words.
