I can't pretend that, now, after so many years , when my memories about him seem to fade away, I fully understand Freddie's complex, paradoxical personality.I've always been more intrigued than anything else by his , let's call it , neurosis, his moodiness, loneliness, shyness, the loneliness of a worshiped artist ?! Odd ! And how well he managed to dissimulate it by projecting an aggressive stage persona, that of a self-assured, dominant man, think of the postures he assumed, heels apart, chest forward.Could those wild parties like the one in Living on My Own(Mr. Bad Guy)overcome his loneliness, did those casual acquaintances help him reduce it? I wonder.
Dr. May wrote a book about his beloved Red Special, now I'm eagerly looking forward to reading his memoirs.
