“I grew up watching Rocky Horror, but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision. Rocky Horror always made me feel like it was OK to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul! I love that old time rock-n-roll!” Lambert said in a nod to one of the film's musical productions.
Lambert's name was one of the first to surface for a role in Fox's Rocky Horror. Sources tell THR that he was originally considered for the role of Frank-N-Furter that was originated by Tim Curry.
The two-hour Fox special, due in fall 2016, will be directed, exec produced and choreographed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) and filmed in advance.

Well, well, well! How great is this? I LOVE RHPS! Watched it a bunch of times. I might be, it could be, it SHOULD be, a key breakthrough for Adam and doing TV, film etc. This job is right up his alley.
And just another thought. We've been wondering about additional TOH shows this summer, but Adam maybe busy working on Rocky Horror, esp. if it's going to be aired early in the fall.
HIs part is relatively small (but awesome!!!!) so he should be able to shoot it relatively quickly.. So excited!!!!

Heard that the filming will be done this winter, so he'll be done with it before long. It's a good part for him, small but interesting and key. Just goes to show that there are often things going on behind the scenes that we know nothing about. Who knows? Maybe this little part will open some other acting doors for Adam. It's happened for others, it could happen for him. Hope that as the broadcast draws near, he'll get some good promo for it. I'm sure this film will be pretty high profile and should be some good publicity.
Meatloaf will be honored. He thinks Adam has an amazing voice, which is true. This is a good start for Adam to continue to,dip,his toe into,acting gigs. He said he didn't want to dress in drag when offered the role in Helwig. Looking forward to seeing it..

Yes perfect role for Adam. Not to big while he is so busy but really high profile. We did know he had turned down the Frankenfurter role. So thought that was it, so real pleasant surprise.Lots of press to.
Perfect is right. I personally don't think of him as anything but a small role speciality type actor. He enjoys the give and take and immediate sound of an audience......... not of sitting around and waiting to film in tiny bits and pieces and see the results months from now.
Having said that, I can't wait to see him rock the house in RHPS with his rendition of Meat Loaf's "Hot Patootie"....\o/

As expected, there are many mixed reviews and comments about the casting( mainly the lead) and the usual naysayers about touching a cult classic. I think Adam and his team made a very wise decision in having him in a "featured" role. He should excel in this part and escape any "blame" should this production not live up to the hype. Have to agree that "remakes" are very risky ventures, and casting is always controversial.
The predominant concern is that RHPS will lose the edgy sexuality of the original under the conservative stance of Fox, which helped make it a cult classic to begin with.
