Kanye, Adam Lambert, More Pay Tribute To Late David Bowie

Quote from the article:

Bowie taught us that it’s cool to be weird, and there would undeniably be far fewer musicians who do what they do if we didn’t have him. Those artists — Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert — have been pouring out their love:

Bowie was iconic and we all know how Adam idolized him. Too bad they never got to meet. And can I just say -- and don't hate on me! -- that i watched the video of his Bowie medley at the AI tour and I kinda miss that Adam. I miss his outrageous sexiness and rock god style. I KNOW he has evolved and matured but, hey, I sure loved THAT Adam at the time. But, don't get me wrong, i love his new stye also!

His doing the Bowie medley at the Idols concert is still one of my favorite things he's done in his career -- and great choice of video! I also loved his rendition of Muse's "Starlight." Oh, man, I remember I was living in Orlando during the time of the Idols tour but had to spend a month in New York when it was really in full swing, and I would go home every night to a very hot apartment but just sit with my laptop and watch and watch vids of each night's shows. And I ended up seeing the concert in New Jersey. Great memories!

Oh Linda I agree with you . . have these videos in my favorites . . . just love

them . . and where oh where did Adam's "ninja roll" go :(

I know he can't do his shows like this all the time but now and then "give it up"

I posted a few threads ago about Adam not losing his "edge." I too miss the edgier, glitzier Adam (who I think is still inside him). I know he can't be his GNT persona forever, as much as I loved it. But I don't want him to lose that slinky sexiness, those supple moves, the riskier clothes. That's what he's known for. He doesn't have to do the real raunch that he used to, but there is plenty of steaminess in him just waiting to burst. He's still damn sexy, but dare I say, he's toned it down a little too much for my taste???? Love his dancing! Love his voice! Hope the TOH really blossoms in the coming weeks and months. I know his loyal OZ fans want to be blown away! I love you, Adam, but just don't play it TOO safe. Bowie.

Totally agree - maybe now is a good time to bring back the HOT - he's amassed a loyal fan base and shouldn't have to worry about mums and little kids anymore.
I know he has to tone things down for some locations and that's a good thing. But he could really give-er to the more liberal locations.
That vid just kills me! - more please.

I'm torn on this subject. Frankly, I've always felt that the his performance on the AI tour was always a bit overboard --TRYING TOO HARD to be sexy, because he felt that was expected of him -- it lacked subtlety -- left nothing to the imagination. It certainly got the response he was seeking at the time, I admit, but I felt the audience was reacting to him "like a piece of meat", and not as that extraordinary singer and performer that had arisen like the sun to brighten our world for many years to come.

I also blame those early audience reactions to the fateful AMA performance that followed later-- along with the earlier performers trying to outdo each other that night with sexy-raunchy "SHOCK" performances.

Adam is ALWAYS sexy, but now he doles it out in a more subdued, sophisticated way (most of the time). I'd like to cite his "After Hours" at the Morongo concert (find on Youtube) as a masterpiece of languid sensuality. I don't know how to transfer "addresses" so just look for COS2MWIZ's gorgeous close-ups of ADAM LAMBERT - AFTER HOURS - MORONGO 7/18/15. Watch for that lip-lick at the beginning-- the "smoky" expression -- the "growl" along with the audience screams -- the eyes closed-head back-satisfied smile- swaying - at the end of the song! It doesn't get any sexier than that!!

Don't misunderstand me, I love edgy, glitzy Adam, too, and would not object to a bit more in the TOH tour -- in a natural, relaxed way, of course. But. please, don't urge him to go back to "square #1". It's taken him so much work to overcome that rough start!

Don't forget we are fans of......ADAM LAMBERT..... the finest VOICE and performer of our time -- the most attractive and nicest... and sexiest. He doesn't have to be an "exhibitionist" (like Miley) to be successful.

Nanbert, Once again perfectly said, for me anyway.

Thanks, jaycee. One more thought, and then I'll shut up.

The best time to make a fan of someone is when they are young -- probably pre-teen -- when they are thrilled to attend a "grown-up" concert with their parents or grandparents. Remember Adam talking about his first concert (Paula Abdul) at age 10? -- he became a life-long fan.

By the time kids are old enough for more "adult" concerts (13 or older) they have very different and definite musical tastes and interests-- almost certainly not yours. If their ears have not been educated before then to actually "hear" Adam's extraordinary voice, they will not be as likely to discover him for themselves.

So, in a sense, it's kind of our duty to "grow" more Glamberts for Adam -- start them young,
take them to Adam's concerts, which, we hope, WILL NOT BE SO ADULT THAT PRE-TEENS SHOULD NOT ATTEND. If you do, you will have given them a gift for life.
