Has anyone else noticed this besides me? In the introduction to "Sleepwalker", I noticed that Adam begins in an "off-key" for a few bars for a very dramatic entrance before he slips into the "correct" key for the body of the song. When I first heard it I thought he might have made an error by starting off in the wrong key, but after seeing it again at a different concert, it became evident that it was purposeful!
I've heard that done occasionally with instruments -- but never heard it done by voice. Do you know how difficult that must have been to sing? But it made it so dramatic and arresting -- and very sophisticated. It is AMAZING what Adam can do with his voice!... the control!

I'm not a musician, but have a pretty good ear for pitch. Anybody have any thoughts or insight into what I've just described?

I haven't noticed it before but now I'll pay closer attention & see if I can pick it out like you did!! Thanx for mentioning it!! I just LOVE this concert in Tokyo ... ADAM & his two singers/dancers seem so in sync on that stage!! And his new band is GREAT!!

Love the new band . . glad he got a tight drummer . . hate it when the drums sound
loose

Of course Longineu and Roger have a tight sound too!

Runnin Runnin Runnin -- I absolutely loved that song from the first time I heard it. So glad he has added it to his concert.

Love it all, but the LMD, Shady and Fever combo is the Triple Crown for me. Love how his dancing is really falling into natural flow. Love seeing his body MOVE!

Just watched Runnin' Chokehold, Sleepwalker again, and I'm thrilled! Combining these songs into thematic sets is great. He's in fine voice, too.

Hi Nanbert.....I noticed it, toooo.....I do not care for it at all......I think it is the background music that is offff...and not Adam singing off-key. The transition seems to me that it needs to be "tweaked". Just my thoughts. Loving the pink suit!!! Classy:) I am mostly in love with part 2, and all the slow tunes....That voice melts me:) Great job, Adam!!!

I agree Nabert. I noticed it the first time I heard it to. Thought the very same thing but also heard it again. Some of the audio on the vids on this song and some others are not very good but you can still hear the contrast and it not by accident. I've noticed that the entire band plays clearer to. Adam and the band play with some of the melodies and keys he sings in. It's very difficult to sing one key when someone or the band sings/plays in another. A trained ear will blend their pitch and key to what they hear so it really hard to ignore that. I love how he sang What Do You Want From Me in Tokyo, loved the tone and pitch, beautiful

@NANBERT-yes, I noticed the off-key introduction of Sleepwalker immediately, and I DO NOT LIKE IT. And, yes, I think it is on purpose, as to just try something new to refresh an older song. But, it is not easy for us to accept this new sound, especially with such an incredible classic as one of the best songs EVER written. If I had to live on an island with only a few songs to hear, SLEEPWALKER would be one of them. I can still close my eyes and imagine Adam walking down those stairs with that long flowing black coat, singing SLEEPWALKER during the Glamnation tour. What a genius song with those amazing lyrics and Adam's theatricality while delivering those lyrics. RUNNIN', SLEEPWALKER, SOAKED and TIME FOR MIRACLES will forever be embedded in my mind as four of the best songs Adam ever gifted to us. May the Force be and remain with him during this tour!
