Nova 969 AU: Adam Lambert gave us what we wanted at his Sydney show

With six years experience entertaining large-scale crowds, it would be fair to assume Adam Lambert knows his stuff. Needless to say, the expectations were high for the singer’s two Sydney shows – the last ones on the Australian leg of his international tour - this past weekend. But ast-paced, high-energy concerts managed to tick all the required boxes we'd imagined.
With his signature charm and boundless energy, Adam performed every hit on his list, even adding a tear-jerking cover of Let’s Dance by David Bowie to the line-up. The venue, the iconic Enmore Theatre, was filled to the brim with the crowd in the standing-only area spilling out into the carpeted corridors. Drinks and ticket stubs in hand, eager concert-goers waited for Adam to take the stage. When the room's lights dimmed and the spotlights turned on, it was clear the man of the hour was about to take the stage.

Thanks for posting this great review. There have been some wonderful reviews of Adam's Australian TOH concerts. Here's a link to one of them .............

Did anyone read the review by "George Palathingal" whose headline was"Adam Lambert: a faint whiff of hangover"? "That he seems to be on autopilot on this night is a touch disappointing.",Even though he hits all his marks, his showmanship is subdued compared with that of, say, Robbie Williams and "And also perhaps thats why they'll forgive the faint whiff of hangover attached to a good pop show that could have been even better" I have watched the videos and read other reviews and I have to ask - was he at the same show as other reviewers. I take exception especially to the statement " a faint whiff of hangover", and laugh at the comment that his showmanship was subdued. It wasn't in the videos I watched. He changes his act a little from show to show, that was the only difference I saw. So far other reviews have been very positive.
Hi! I try to read only the positive reviews .. no sense in getting all riled up over reading something negative that I can't do anything about. Those reviews are written by someone who is either biased or didn't even go to the show ... just read what others had to say & "made up" their own from hearsay. This guy sounds like someone like that ... I won't even bother to look up the article. Sounds like 'he's' the one with the hangover ... a full-blown one!! ADAM has never been subdued on stage in any video I've ever seen!!

I read this whole review a few days ago. I imagine he is not an Adam fan to begin with and didn't have very high expectation or a previous strong connection with Adam. So be it. At least he acknowledged Adam's vocals, which are hard to ignore. The rest of his guy's review leaves me puzzled, too. Some people's preconceived notions become their own reality.
I saw that review a couple of days ago, and my first thought was .. Oh No!
But, as you guys said, watching the videos of the concert being "reviewed" made me realize that George Palathingal was full of baloney...downright inept ... lying outright... didn't even attend the concert... or dropped in and out very briefly. Or, maybe he just didn't like Adam, period.
The truth is, that review is now being seen internationally on the internet, and most people pay more attention to negative or sensational articles. This reviewer is intimating that Adam was performing drunk -- and that his performance suffered because of it. No matter that the other reviewers have given rave reviews for the SAME concert.
That is NOT A REVIEW....That is SLANDER!!!!!! It seems that it was MEANT to cause damage to Adam's reputation. It makes me so angry!
How about some comments on the very positive reviews.
Good Point, fluttsp, there were so many positive reviews...an "embarassment of riches".... so overwhelmingly flattering to Adam that it only makes that "whiff of hangover" review stand out like a sore thumb -- especially when backed by the numerous videos that indisputably prove how wrong the reviewer was.
If the reviewer didn't care for that concert -- or Adam's style .. that's O.K., and a legitimate reason for saying so. What I object to is his very UNPROFESSIONAL comment about a "hangover" (how would he even know?).. to explain WHY. That's a form of CHARACTER ATTACK ... and seems more personal than professional to me.
fluttsp -- I checked out those great reviews you mentioned somewhere else in here---i.e. sandrashakespeare and thomasbleach...thanks.
In particular, sandrashakespeare's review should have been entitled.. "THE BIRTH OF A GLAMBERT"...perfect description!
