*Adam performed this song in the classic musical "Brigadoon" at age 22 in Houston, Texas in March, 2004.. Among those in the audience were former President George Bush and Barbara Bush, shown here with Adam Lambert as "Charlie"

He may have changed his style and look since then, but the voice is still incredible, and ever evolving!

EXCERPTS FROM THE ARTICLE (please go to the link above to read the rest of the glowing praise from this seasoned music professional).
Listen – I have heard this classic  musical theatre song performed countless number of times in my musical career. However, none can surpass the immaculate, exquisite, perfect interpretation of this number as mastered by the mega – talented Adam Lambert.

When I wasn’t being transported to another dimension by the evenness and purity of his crystalline head voice, I was blown away upon hearing Adam’s phenomenal approach to his phrasing. And his musical ingenuity. And his ability to take artistic risks with confident technical skills.

And an added Adam Lambert 24/7 News bonus: The review from The Houston Press of "Brigadoon", with quotes from the review pertaining to Adam Lambert as "Charlie":

LINK TO THE HOUSTON PRESS REVIEW: "Lost in Translation"
Brigadoon turns out to be the sort of magical place where everyone knows everyone else, and they all come together in the town square. Among the shoppers are sisters Fiona (Rachel deBenedet) and Jean (Laura Scott). There's also Charlie (Adam Lambert), Jean's handsome, blond-haired betrothed. Everyone's deliriously happy because today Jean and Charlie will be married at last.

Lambert's gorgeous tenor voice makes Charlie's love songs -- especially the unforgettable "Come to Me, Bend to Me" -- swoon-worthy.

And indeed, his voice is still exactly that, all these years later, in 2016!

I've watched this so many times & each time I'm amazed at Adam's exquisite, powerful vocal ability, breath control, the crisp way he sings the word "lips" & the obvious excellent vocal training that has given Adam such a strong foundation. He builds on it with his own unique creativity that stirs me to my very soul. He's an incredible gift that keeps giving. The song itself isn't remarkable for me, but what he does with it certainly is. It's breath taking.

And I get to hear this voice life! TWO times!

I haven't been to a Adam Lambert concert before so I kind of did a blind bargain, but the reviews were just too great and I was afraid I'd regret not going to more than one concert.^^

Trust me: I'm EXCITED!!!

Me too...."Brigadoon" is one of my regular "go to's". In fact, this is always my FIRST choice when introducing a "newbie" to Adam's voice...immediately followed by "My Conviction".

I feel that it is useful for people to just HEAR Adam's voice at first...before SEEING him perform.... to realize what a earth-shattering vocal talent he is. WATCHING him perform is somewhat distracting because of his arresting looks, showmanship and massive presence....a total package of which the voice then becomes "a part".

Once a "newbie" is convinced he/she is hearing MORE than a world-class voice, then it is O.K. to unleash the whole megawattage of Adam on them with videos of him singing live in different situations.
