Ah, looking forward to watching Adam sing on Rocky Horror movie; he'll be the talk of the town just like Starchild. Somehow, Adam could have given starring as Dr Frank-N-Furter offered to him, a go at it. I am fully aware the reason he gave for not doing so; I read his original explanation given by him; that he is not a transgender person and being respectful and honest as he always is, feels he may not be the appropriate actor for the cast. He also said this transgender topic is such a huge issue right now.
But to me, an actor is just portraying a persona not the real person; so from that perspective he could have accepted it, but Adam is the one in the real situation, the deep end of the pool, so he knows the real situation, first hand. Perhaps, also, he does not want to be typecast as such, at an early stage of his screen acting carrier, for something he's not, that is.
Reminds me of Adam's Born To Be Wild, the kneeling and wailing scene on Rocky Horror movie.
This Usherette video is very enticing, with her holding the torch ushering people to the seats.

I for one am happy that I won't have to see Adam in fish-net stockings, garter belt and a bustier. Even Adam once said he personally has no interest in dressing in feminine clothing.

Don't misunderstand me.. I am NOT remotely homophobic...but I feel that, especially if the RHPS is highly successful, Adam might become "typecast" in the U.S. before he becomes as well established (as himself) as he is overseas. Years from now that should no longer be a factor.

Besides, he is SO-O-O attractive just the way he is! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! In any case, he seems to feel it is inappropriate (as a cis), and I agree with him. Remember, he turned down the role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway too-- perhaps for the same reason, or perhaps because of conflicts with his singing career (tours, etc.).
