Got a quirky story for Welcome To The Show...

Grandma June was in the woods, picking herbs and berries to make an organic soup for dinner. Suddenly, she noticed a small light coming from behind a tree. Grandma June quickly turned and hurried back to her cottage by the stream. She was very cautious about unusual happenings reported lately, in the woods. Some said there was a bear with bright eyes lurking. Some said it looked like a person with a torch trying to find his way out of the woods.
So far, Grandma June had not seen anything suspicious but just to play safe, she always kept her distance. As she opened the door to her cottage, she noticed a strange movement swish past the backyard. Now that made her rather perturbed but it didn't seem threatening.
That evening after boiling the soup with the herbs and berries, she sat at table to savour it; these herbs had cell-regenerative properties that kept her alert and younger looking. It was also aphrodisiac, well, not sure if Grandma June needed that...but she did say she was looking for a new man!
After finishing the soup, she decided to watch tv, her favourite channel carried The Adam Lambert Show which she would never miss. She loved his singing, fashion and talk-shop/soliloquy. Queen would come on his show as an extra bonus.
While waiting for it to start, she looked out the window, the full moon was brilliant like e a lantern hanging in the starry sky.

Suddenly, she spotted that strange light flickering from behind a tree outside her cottage. She drew the curtain and went upstairs to take another peek. The light advanced to the front door.
Knock! Knock!... It's me!...Red Hair.
Grandma June opened the door; Red Hair, the woodcutter's son had become a regular visitor.
Still suspicious of the strange light stalking her, she hurriedly pulled Red Hair into the house and shut the door.
Grandma, what big eyes you have! Red Hair blurted.
The better to see you with.
Grandma what big ears you have.
The better to hear you.
Grandma, what sharp hands you have and what big teeth!
The better to catch you and eat you! Hoo hoo hoo...
It was a strange little game Red Hair enjoyed playing with Grandma June.

A week passed... Grandma June was having her afternoon nap; a knock on the door woke her. She got up, opened it, thinking it was little Red Hair.
Whoa! Wham Bam! A burly ape-like creature pounced on her!
Aarrgh Help! Heeelp! Grandma June screamed. The creature scampered back into the woods. Just at that moment, Red Hair and his Dad were out in the woods chopping firewood for fuel. Grandma June was still screaming while the strange creature tried to escape.
Red Hair's Dad chased and all of a sudden, the weird being turned and directed a blinding laser-beam at him; Dad fell to the ground, blocking his eyes from the glare hurting his eyes.
Dad! Are you okay? Red Hair was almost in tears watching his brave Dad fighting the creature which disappeared. Red Hair pointed to the trees and told his Dad it flew up there.
Grandma June now really perplexed, thanked Red Hair's Dad for his brave intervention and vigilance.

A month passed with no strange happenings. As usual, Grandma June was out picking those regenerative, aphrodisiac herbs. Then, that strange light beamed from behind a tree again.
This time it moved like lightning and swish ! Grandma June was sucked up in a glowing halo of light. Instantly, she teleported!

Lo and behold! Grandma June found herself standing in a huge spacious glass encasement. A voice spoke via telecommunication; there wasn't anyone around. It said:
We want to learn from you how to concoct your aphrodisiac soup!
Grandma June was whisked into a very futuristic kitchen manned by live robots who fetched/clutched with their hooked hands whatever she needed; and they never uttered a word or sound.
Grandma set a pot of soup on boil using a kind of laser heating element, with the herbs she had picked; she poured the whole basketful of it into a steel drum; a tap let the cooked soup flow into large basins for serving.

Gotta mention... I've noticed many Glamberts celebrating.. like me... the simplicity of the theme... JUST ADAM being himself... and, of course, Laleh...close-ups without a lot of distracting background or other unrelated people, just interesting and abstract lighting and images -- a lot the same way Adam used in his TOH tour. Suits him very well! HE... fills the eyes.

I guess I was not alone in wishing for an exclusively ADAM video. It's interesting how many comments about that were made by other Glamberts as well.

Let's hope Adam thinks about that when he makes his next video....and tour.

Grandma June...continued:

The basins of cooked soup were conveyed into another huge spacious glass encasement via a system of magnetic levitation...and gently landed on a huge star-shaped rotating table.
Through the frosted encasement, Grandma June saw a lot of movements but something familiar stood out...that beam of light that she kept seeing from behind a tree in the woods...there were so many! Oooh-la-la! Are those alien eyes? she mumbled.

At this juncture... she heard a familiar voice calling from the outside.
Grandma June! How come you are not out picking herbs and berries today? Come out and play!
Grandma June looked around disorientated...By golly, she was back in her cottage!
Red Hair walked in through the slightly ajar door.

Grandma June, why are you trembling and shaking?
Oh, I just teleported back from another galaxy very far away. They wanted me to teach them how to make my special soup.
You sound strange, Grandma June! What happened to your voice?
Inquisitive Red Hair was always firing questions at Grandma whom he had become very concerned for.
Then something really weird happened. Grandma's eyes beamed like two florescent lights.

Grandma, what shiny eyes you have! ...holy moly!
Red Hair ran out of the cottage, all the way home. Well, Red Hair didn't return for a long time. But being such a nosy little concerned boy, you bet, he would be back. lol!
Grandma June turned semi-alien? Mmm, perhaps, those aphrodisiac herbs had other untapped potent properties. lwl!

One fine afternoon, Grandma June was as usual in the woods picking those regenerative/aphrodisiac herbs to make her dinner soup.
She was reminiscing the good times she had with Red Hair, the woodcutter's son who visited her almost every day; but since he saw Grandma June turn alien-like, he was too scared to return; especially when her eyes shone like florescent lights, exposing the outline of her skull!
I wonder how Red Hair is doing? She murmured.
She missed him because Red Hair was her only close companion.

Helloo Grandma June!
Grandma June turned, startled! Her thoughts through space seemed to have reached Red Hair via telepathy. She immediately got up and gave Red Hair a long, hard hug.
Don't run off again... she muttered.

Grandma June, what a nice haircut you have.
Well well, Red Hair was back to normal all right, firing questions at Grandma.

I am looking for a beau to spice up my life.
What's a beau?
A handsome maan!

Oh oh, that beam of light from behind a tree was peeping at them again.
Red Hair, Run ! Get back to the house!

Red Hair ran for his life. The beam of light swirled around him in a spiral halo and lo and behold, Red Hair was abducted!
Grandma was devastated, screamed at the top of her lungs. Alas, Red Hair's Dad had gone to town to sell his farm produce. Grandma June consoled herself hoping those rather benign aliens whom she had encountered, wouldn't harm Red Hair.
Grandma sauntered slowly home, kept looking for any sign or beam behind a tree. She opened her cottage door and sat down, close to tears; turned on the tv; the Adam Lambert show was on and he was singing:

Saw all of the saints
Lock up the gates
I could not enter
Walked into the flames
Called out your name
But there was no answer
And now I know my heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town...

Knock! Knock!
Grandma June rushed to open the door.
Red Hair!'re back so soon! Thank goodness!
Oh no... Red Hair's eyes glowed a blue hue! His red hair stood on ends. As if that was not fearful enough, Red Hair's voice sounded robotic/digitised.
What did they do to you Red Hair?

I'm not Red name is Zook.
You look so much like Red Hair! Where is Red Hair? demanded Grandma June curtly.
I was fashioned to look like Red Hair. My alien father likes his red hair and blue eyes. Don't worry, Red Hair is happily playing with his alien brothers out in the galaxy periphery.
Grandma June stared at Zook, the unbelievbale resemblance. A clone! ...flashed through her mind.

Lam-My said...

So why are you here, Zook?

My mission is to get your aphrodisiac soup recipe. You see, after taking your aphrodisiac soup, somehow, we don't know why, many more alien babies were born!
Grandma was quite confused but calmer now. They sat at table and she wrote out the recipe, explaining step by step regarding the proportions of herbs to the amount of water and heat.
Zook interrupted: We use condensed vapour crystals for water.
Grandma June was very worried about Red Hair, let alone if they used crystals to make soup or pearls for that matter. lol! Would they clone him? Zook looked so much like Red Hair.

Knock! Knock!
Grandma's me Red Hair.
Grandma got up hastily and opened the door.
Lo and behold! She couldn't believe what confronted her. Which one is Red Hair?
There were so many Red Hair...clones!
Grandma flung her hands up in desperation. They were identical copies of Red hair; dressed, walked and even talked like Red Hair.

Grandma, why are you looking so worried...your woolly lip is twitching.
And all the clones repeated the same question, with the same voice and mannerism.
Grandma June was flabbergasted...what if she would never know who her real Red Hair was!
She scrutinised each one, even sniffed at them but to no avail.
Grandma turned on the tv as she always did when she was anxious. Adam Lambert was singing on his show:

You know I have a veil
All covered up, to myself
It's always there
Now they wanna know
How does it feel?
Gonna let it show!

At this point, a melodic angelic voice joined in the chorus:

So welcome to the show
Bring on all the lights
Let it shine on you
We're together here tonight
Welcome to the show
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my li-i-ife...

Grandma June's eyes immediately fixated on the singing Red Hair. She knew at once she got the right one! and what an ethereal voice it was.
His clones didn't sing perhaps they had not heard this lovely song yet. lol!
Grandma hugged her Red hair and wouldn't let him go.

As twilight set in, that ubiquitous beam of light flashed from behind a tree outside, like a signal for them to leave.
Zook and the clones levitated in single file out the door, dissipated into the dusk in a brilliant plume of light.
