Glamberts knew that years ago.....
I love Adam so much but it is all based on his vocal prowess.
I love this Herald Sun blurb! It's really significant because being a successful singer isn't all about having a good voice. It's about personality and looks and presentation. This is why it's so important for Adam to get out there and show the world his engaging and enjoyable personality. And that's exactly what he's doing on XFactor. He is marketing his whole self, not just his voice. Lots of people have great voices but they don't sell a lot of their music. It takes more than that. I pray that there will be some spill-over about XF Au in the US. He's really getting great media coverage in Australia about it. They love him. Many viewers are discovering him to the first time.
People buy music not only for the singer's voice but also because they love the singer as a person. Hope RHPS gives him that "personality" boost, too.
Adam my be the least appreciated star in the music business. Might have to do with him being a triple threat to other artists. Side by side he outshines most IMHO!
What I want to know is why Iggy A. says ADAM is harsher on the contestants than she or Guy? And why did the emcee (his name escapes me at the moment) call ADAM *cutthroat* as a judge? As far as I can see ... ADAM is both instructive to & understanding of the contestants even if they don't excel but if ADAM can see some potential in their performances!! Maybe that's why AU is embracing ADAM with open arms ... and after that impromptu performance with one of the contestants ADAM is gaining more exposure to those who are not familiar with his popularity and incomparable talent!!

Adam is a very on-point Judge/Teacher, strict maybe but not discouraging. Also, he is able to demonstrate to the contestants how to maximise their potential. Talking alone is not so visual and not so clear.
Eventually, it boils down to talent, power to drive the notes/voice and believing in what one presents; it's the contestant with a difference...that can't be taught, the main ingredient.
I also feel dividing the contestants according to age may be defeating the purpose of the exercise; the younger, less experienced may not be able to hone from the older, more capable contestants in close contact; as they have this idea they are pitting against one another's group.
This was quite visible on AI/S8 where all the contestants learnt much from the more knowledgeable experienced Adam.
