Season eight of X Factor Australia kicked off last night (October 2) with a new judging line-up featuring Adam Lambert and Iggy Azalea. And it didn’t take the pair long to bond over a hot contestant. “He’s cute,” the “Ghost Town” hitmaker whispered as Memphis took the stage for an audition. The 27-year-old from Melbourne soon revealed that he’s a brick layer by day and a male entertainer by night, which prompted Adam to ask for “a sample of the merchandise.” He was happy to comply and Iggy was pretty excited by what she saw.

“I really didn’t picture myself being a judge on any kind of television show, but I think that this could actually be a good fit for me so I said yes,” the “Team” rapper told the Daily Telegraph before shooting commenced. “Initially I didn’t know, but then I thought it would be good to come back to Australia… I’m really excited and I don’t really know what to expect.” It’s nice to see her having a good time after an objectively terrible year.

This was a bit of a hoot. Memphis (the contestant) kissed both Iggy & Adam on the cheek before he left the stage.

Memphis got his 5 minutes of fame. Didn't have the vocal chops, but it was a fun moment when he planted that smooch on Adam. Loved Adam's "swoon" afterwards. He's got good comic instincts.

I suspect that was "set up" ahead of time. I doubt if Adam would have made the request to "see the merchandise" on the spur of the moment, without approval.... and Memphis was too quick to take off his tee shirt (but NO more).

But it was still fun!.. and added a bit of "spice"!

What I do like is that Adam is able to be completely "OUT", and that it is not only referred to, but incorporated into the program as acceptable, natural......and O.K.to play with!
