It is reported both new host Jason Dundas and new judge Iggy Azalea disappointed network executives.
Iggy in particular is claimed to have been a major let down, as she failed to develop relationships with the other judges or connect with the show's fans.
Both Guy Sebastian and Adam Lambert came out as the show was filming to slam their co-star for turning up late and being a diva on set.

I think Guys bitching about Iggy and the obvious tension between the two was uncomfortable to watch. Adam did a great job IMHO as did Mel B. They were fun to watch. Cutting the shows season in half hurt also. Perhaps these shows have viewer fatigue like here.

I agree with all you said The Dark Side. Also thought Guy had a bit of 'panelist fatigue'.
It's a bummer tho, because Adam did a great job. I'm thinking viewer fatigue was the biggest factor.

Personally I enjoyed all the info that got here to the US and really enjoyed watching Adam and his team's journey. There were lots of fun and funny moments. It even looked to me, from Davy's reaction that he was glad Isaiah won.

Well, A came out of the show with lots if positive press, and that makes me feel good. Too bad he was on when the show was on its last legs. Move on.

And it's too bad for Isaiah that the ratings were so low. It does have an effect on how many saw him perform. Look at the last few seasons of Idol. The contestants were viewed by far fewer people than in earlier seasons. Hope he manages to maintain his momentum. It's hard to do. We'll see in a year or two.

Adam made the show alive with Mel B. I read some comments from the article that International recruits didn't help the ratings. The viewers were disappointed bec. they cut it short and everything screwed!:(. I hope Adam get the sit in UK X-Factor.

OT - Just saw Adam with Alison on tonight's "Voice" - they were in the audience and stood up as Carson gave them a shout-out. Kind of a shock to see him unexpectedly on TV, albeit a few seconds.

Would love Adam as a judge on the "Voice" franchise, as I think the X Factor franchise is played out. "Voice" still has good life left in it, although the "winners" still struggle in the industry. The mentoring by the judges is given good air time, the judges get frequent performance time, and the humor and personalities of the judges drive the show. I know the criticism is that the judges take the spotlight from the contestants, but I think it is this slant that provides the entertainment in an otherwise predictable format.

BTW - I absolutely love Miley as a judge, she is a revelation. I know Adam likes her too and I think their chemistry together would set new heights, way beyond the bromance of Adam and Blake.

A negative review by the Daily News UK - surprise surprise - NOT. I didn't have a problem with Iggy, nor with Justin. Guy said early in the piece that he was pleased with the judge/mentor line-up this year; he said the line-up was much better than last year. Apart from a niggle here & there, I thought they all related pretty well on camera - maybe it was different off camera. In any event, the show is supposed to be about the contestants, not the judges/mentors.

It doesn't look as though the show will be back next year - it's all about the ratings for the TV networks!!

I hope Isaiah does well. He's very endearing with a lovely voice.

^^Oops! I meant "Jason" not "Justin".

I think there were viewers who had issues with the series being short, and 4 contestants eliminated at the same time didn't go down well.
