"The good thing about my radar-sized ears is that I can hear my master's exquisite voice perfectly..... the bad thing about their size is that I can't go outside in a high-wind without flying off!"

LOL! He does have big ears. Very Egyptian. He is such a relaxed dog. I wonder if we'll ever see him playing around. I think we saw him outside with Sauli one time.

From all these photos, it is hard to know if he can even stand up by himself...

But I vaguely remember seeing a standing photo back in the early days, so maybe we can assume he's still able to....as long as he stays out of a high wind! LOL

I think Pharaoh is not a playful dog because he stayed long locked in cage.

LOL!!! Nanbert. (thanx for the laugh)
Yes there is one picture of Pharaoh standing up at Runyan Canyon. But it has been a while. I think Adam just has more energy than Pharaoh and wears out the poor dog.

There were also snaps from Sauli walking Pharaoh in February when he visited Adam and Pharaoh was even running (if I remember right).

Nanbert ... your comment made me laugh b/cuz my Old Girl had even longer ears than Pharaoh & they hung down either side of her face & when she stood outside in a high wind they looked like she had long hair blowing in the wind!! So elegant & sweet ... I really do miss her a lot!! She had a beautiful face like Pharaoh .. long & slender & no matter who came to the house she would go to the door & as soon as she was acknowledged she would immediately lay on her back paws up & wait to have her tummy scratched!! lol She was really one of a kind!! I used to laughingly say .. sure .. good thing this is a friendly person .. otherwise .. she was a burglar's dream ... just scratch her tummy & she'd watch while we slept!! lol Good Old Girl!!

Maybe Pharaoh looks tired because he's just finished watching ADAM exercise & that's when ADAM took his picture!!

My guess is that Pharaoh does his share of scampering. But he seems to have a mellow personality. And he loves to pose for pictures!

Lambert Outlaw....hearing about your Old Girl being a "burglar's dream"... reminds me of a TRUE story about a couple who owned a very friendly Golden Retriever. Their home was cleaned out by burglars while they were at work.

Not only were the burglars never caught, but they returned about a week later and stole the dog too... which they had obviously fallen in love with while they were "cleaning out" the owners!

:>) My aunt had a dog like that, a labrador. Loveliest dog in the world, but not very bright.

There are Labradors that are trained to be highly-skilled guide dogs for the blind & the disabled persons so they must have some intelligence.

Nanbert said...

fluttsp...quite right. Their gentle temperaments and intellects are especially suitable for those more "nuturing" occupations.

They are just as intelligent as the next breed, but Labs generally have not been bred for guard, police or herding uses, so they have little natural tendency for that in everyday life.

I watched a program on TV recently re Britain's fave dogs & number 1 is the Labrador.

fluttsp...you're obviously a dog-lover, as am I. I'm surprised about the Lab in Britian, because I know that the Queen is famous for her Corgis, and sort of assumed she led a trend.

I was amused to encounter a couple of videos on youtube of the Queen travelling by plane with her Corgis...seeing a bunch of them clamboring up the steps into her plane, or milling around the tarmac at the airport before and after arrival...with their attendents.

At one point I counted 12 Corgis travelling with her! But I think I read that she's down to 2 now...because of her age, she won't add any more.

BTW, Thanks for your above link...I'm heading there now!
