Interesting read about the possible future re-vamp of "The Voice" season schedule and the proposed, perhaps upcoming "American Idol" reboot.

From Enstarz.com, with a mention about "Superstar Adam Lambert".

LINK: 'The Voice' 2017: Adam Levine Might Drop Down To Coaching One Season Per Year

Photo: Adam Lambert, one of the most talented & successful American Idol contestants of all time. In a full-circle moment (above),  Adam has served as a guest judge on the show (in 2015, filmed in 2014 during the auditions segment). If American Idol returns to our TV screens, will Adam be offered a judging spot on the panel?? Anything is possible!

Excerpts/Quotes from the article: Full article at the link above
This development comes as NBC and Fox continue their bidding war for the American Idol revival. NBC might be looking to have The Voice air only once a year, to prevent over-saturation and to make room for American Idol. Essentially, the network might air a new season of The Voice in the fall and a new season of American Idol in the spring, or vice versa. This is, of course, assuming Fox does not outbid them.
American Idol produced many music superstars over the course of its 15-season run, including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, Fantasia, Jordin Sparks, Scotty McCreery and Phillip Phillips. While ratings declined rapidly in the show's final years, it was still one of the most watched shows on Fox even as it became more costly to produce. The series began in 2002 and aired only once per year.

I foolishly posted an Off Topic comment on the "Shenanigans" thread a few threads down. So nobody saw it. Anyway, I'm pasting it here. It's my reaction to an article I saw on Atop called "The Voice Horror Stories: 10 Stars Who Failed to Shine." Bottom line, it's risk even being the winner on these shows. Promises are not always kept.

OT, but just read an article elsewhere called, "The Voice Horror Stories: 10 Stars Who Failed to Shine." It's about how The Voice has produced no big stars from their entire run. Sure, some of their contestants are performing at some level. But even some of the winners were not supported by the show and are struggling. I feel bad for Alisan. Her deal was not what she thought it was and so she is going it alone with her music. So glad that Adam was on Idol when the contestants were more strongly supported. Heard that on AI's last few years, the "record contracts" for the winners did not turn out as promised.

And, of course, if Adam is chosen to be a judge on the "new" Idol, I will watch faithfully and hope that the job enhances his career. I know it worked for Levine and Maroon 5.

I like that the article listed Adam in the top three superstars from AI...they're certainly no longer describing him as "American Idol Runner-up"!

And the caption under the photo!..."most talented and successful.. of all time"! YES!!!

I predict that 2017 will be as "busy" for Adam as 2016.

Sorry about Alisan -- she is so talented.

If the new AI never happens, it's ok with me. Never been a fan of the idea. Singing shows are on the way DOWN. The Voice barely supports its winners, if at all. Let it rest, I say.

American Idol overstayed its welcome after the original panel of judges began to change almost yearly and the quality of critiquing dwindled to nothing. I don't want to see it return, nor do I think The Voice should occur more than once a year. Does anyone know if any of the Voice winners have had big time albums? As for Levine dropping to appearing only once a season, I couldn't be happier. I am so sick of Adam and Blake hogging the spotlight as if it were all about them. That's why I really don't watch it much anymore. I was thrilled to watch when Alisan Porter was on because I know what a knockout talent she is and I wanted Christina to finally get her dues as a mentor. I had begun to wonder if people were voting for either Blake or Adam instead of the hopefuls in the contest.

I liked American Idol...don't care for, don't watch The Voice.... too much emphasis on the judges, IMO. Whether or not they support their winners needs to be addressed, I agree.

But either way, the contestants still have a huge amount of "exposure" that they'd never get otherwise.... and we need to have "new blood" churning up the music scene. Too much "same old, same old" keeping a tight control on what we listen to.

Truth is, I no longer listen to the radio (except for the classical music station)....same people over and over, ad infinitum, and it all begins to sound the same.
