Adam Lambert's vocals will be featured in the upcoming animated Dreamworks film "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie" soundtrack. "Captain Underpants" is a beloved series of children's stories and the movie is one for the entire family.

The movie and the soundtrack both release on June 2, 2017

From The Film Music Reporter: (see the full article linked in the tweet above):

"Virgin Records will release the official soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. The album features the songs from the movie including “Weird Al” Yankovic’s Captain Underpants Theme Song, as well as tracks by Andy Grammar, Adam Lambert, Nathan Willett of Cold War Kids and Lul Yachty. Also included are three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Theodore Shapiro (Ghostbusters, The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder, Marley & Me). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 2, 2017. Captain Underpants is directed by David Soren and features the voices of Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Nick Kroll, Thomas Middleditch, Jordan Peele and Kristen Schaal. The movie tells the story of two overly imaginative pranksters who hypnotize their principal into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants. The animated comedy will be released nationwide on June 2 by 20th Century Fox."

Great for Adam...he'll kill it! The Aretha Franklin connection reminded me to look up this quote from Meatloaf about Adam......

"I think there are three singers that I have heard that I think have that thing, that jet pack quality to their voice, that just lets it take off....Whitney Houston,Aretha Franklin and Adam Lambert. Top three!"

In a way, that kind of makes this another "full circle" in Adam's career! Two, if you'd like
to also count Adam performing Meatloaf's original part in Rocky Horror Picture Show!

This will be another new song for me ... never paid attention to it before ... but now that ADAM will be singing it I'll probably grow to love it just like all the other songs ADAM has introduced me to!! Wow!! Another whole new world of music for me ala ADAM LAMBERT ... feeling younger again!!

Lambert Outlaw...way to go... Adam keeps us in the world... always something new to savor!

However, in all fairness, Aretha Franklin wasn't quite then considered to be the icon that she is today.... and I have to admit that I never even saw the movie "The Blues Brothers".

So "Think" is a brand new song for me too. Adam will eat it up!

I bet that the coming QAL tour will also introduce a few new songs this round, too.

I love this song. Curious what his interpretation will be.

@Nanbert
The original version of "Think" by Aretha Franklin was released in 1968. The "Blues Brothers" movie was released in 1980.. And to be honest, Aretha has been an icon to many for years... Just not on everyone's radar.

Nanbert .. Aretha Franklin was never one of my 'gotta-listen-to' singers. Her era was my 'child-rearing' era ... wasn't a big radio listener at that time ... Sesame Street & children's programs dominated the TV so the radio just sat there while I tried to keep from losing my mind raising 5 kids ... lol!! Can't wait to hear ADAM's rendition ... I know it will be (to quote Randy Jackson) "the BOMB"!! Just think ... QAL is only a month away ... yay ... more videos by our Glambert ninjas!!

glitzylady... thanks for the correction. You're right...Aretha was never on my radar.

I was mostly living out of the country (Belgium, Libya, Puerto Rico) during the 1960's. In any case I've always been a classical music (with some rock) fan.... never a "pop"-music listener...until Adam...and even now mostly only HIS music.

Ooh! This seems interesting. I must show this movie to my kids. They will know how to be brave in life. I have always found such inspiring content only for my kids. Last month they watched series by Andy Yeatman that taught them good values and provided informative content.
