Founding Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor have done an admirable job preserving their band’s legacy while honoring Freddie Mercury’s memory. In 2004, the duo recruited Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers for a tour and surprisingly catchy album (The Cosmos Rocks), adopting the moniker Queen (plus) Paul Rodgers to define it as a new formula building on the group’s previous incarnation, as opposed to a confirmed rebirth. That algorithm evolved considerably after Kris Allen and Adam Lambert joined May and Taylor for a 2009 rendition of “We Are The Champions” on American Idol, leading to a touring stint for Lambert. The better part of a decade later, Queen (plus) Adam Lambert are on tour and hit Barclays last week, where photographer Amy Harris shot the glitter, leather and rhinestones. Queen (plus) Adam Lambert wrap the American leg of their tour in Houston on Saturday before heading to Europe in November.

Quite a number of Queen songs delve into freedom; Freddie had the mind of an activist, his own covert way; like ... Spread your wings and fly away ... I want to ride my bicycle where I like...with political/social implications, though he wrote the song when Tour de France cyclists raced past his hotel room in France ... I want to break free...(John Deacon) etc.

I too think freedom is at the core of one's humanity, choices; though, hand-in-hand with respect and consideration for another person's space, interest, thinking.
But some think freedom of expression of one's rights overrides everything else...

I saw this rather dilapidated state of Frank humanoid on Adam's instagram:

Helloo Frank! What's wrong? Are you sick?

Frank:
Yea, I may be dying, my eyeballs are not rolling and they put a piece of black linen on my head to cool down my fever. I hope I can make it to tonight's show at least.

Lambert:
Why do they put the orange cone next to you...as if they are climbing up to do some major surgery on your head?

In walks the surgeon...

Doctor, is Frank able to perform tonight?

Doctor:
I'm afraid not; ahh, maybe you can help. Frank loves you and always rolls his eyeballs when you are sitting on his head.

Lambert:
Okay, you want me to climb up?

Doctor:
That's the only way to see if he can be resuscitated.

Lambert climbs onto Frank's head and spreads his legs, thumping Frank's head as if to wake him from his comatose. And with all his turbo, he sings: She's a Killer Queen ... Guaranteed to blow your mind ... Anytime

Lethargically, Frank's eyes light up a purple glow and slowly rolls his eyeballs to the top, then side to side and up and down...That night, he gave a rousing opening and even conducted the audience in Radio Ga Ga. Killer Queen' s resuscitation, the breath of life lwl!

Thank you Fluttsp!
I'v grown accustomed to the Queen folks; Adam brought them to me. For this particular QAL tour, they put their whole heart and soul into it...psychedelic lasers, very expensive and Frank is so human, the bicycle/trishaw so endearing with Adam actually riding breezily on the catwalk singing as he rides...so much fun, freedom and human/financial resource to do what they want.
