Ultimate Classic Rock Interview: Dr. Brian May On The Freddie Mercury-Queen Biopic, His 3-D Book, Adam Lambert, More!

Dr. Brian May of Queen was recently interviewed by Ultimate Classic Rock Magazine about a variety of topics, including his new 3-D Stereoscopic Book "QUEEN In 3-D", the new Freddie Mercury/Queen Biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" now in production in England, the Queen + Adam Lambert North America Summer 2017 Tour, and the upcoming remastered "News Of The World" Box set, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of that iconic Queen album.

A quote from the interview:
It has been a very busy and productive period for the Queen guitarist, and not just because of the new book. Queen and singer Adam Lambert recently completed a U.S. summer tour and will begin performing in the UK and Europe later in the fall. “The chemistry’s there,” May says of the band’s relationship with Lambert. “It’s something that you just can’t fake. It has to be real. It’s wonderful that he can do all the stuff that we need him to do, technically and physically. But also he brings a new character to it. It just works with us. He’s not imitating Freddie — he’s a new personality.”

Is Rami going to sing in the movie or will the songs be dubbed in? Can he sing like Freddie? He doesn't look like him at all .. IMO ... but Brian's & Roger's stand ins look like them somewhat ... don't know enough about John Deacon to venture an opinion!! Hope it's a HUGE SUCCESS!!

Adam once mentioned that he'd like to play Freddie's lover in the movie... or one of them... perhaps in jest? It'll be interesting to see if anything comes of it.

BTW, certainly Freddie's voice will be dubbed in. Why would anyone make a movie about a man reputed to be the greatest rock singer of all time, and NOT use HIS voice? Besides, in musicals, the music/singing is pre-recorded, and even the singers lip-sinc their own voices during the actual filming. Rami would be lip-sincing either way....so why not with Freddie's voice since the movie is about Freddie?

Also, the movie performances would need to incorporate the ACTUAL Queen recordings for their sound.
