Adam is very good at STL (Spreading The Love).

Yes he is....always. It must be especially difficult to be "trans" in our society today.

Also, this is the first I've heard of "TransDayOfVisibility". Is that a new designation...or am I out of step with the times?

This is what Wikipedia says --- don't know whether to trust them or not, but as far as I know it could be, they've always done right by me.
"The holiday was founded by US-based transgender activist[3] Rachel Crandall of Michigan in 2009"

btw, I'd never heard of it before now, either.

Nanbert said...

Lollymop...Thanks for the information. Didn't know that a private citizen could establish a holiday.

Humm... think I'll establish a BeNiceToNanbertDay...How about today, March 31st? Whoa...bad choice... only 40 minutes left! haha

I didn't know this day existed. Never heard anyone at anytime mention a day like today in the past years. Well you learn something new everyday. Adam always thinks of others, what a beautiful soul. I love him.

Could be we never heard about it before b/cuz nobody ever acknowledged it until our ADAM did!! He never forgets to say something on the important days in his life even if we haven't known about it .. this is something new to us but may be well known in the gay community ... for all we know!! Nobody knew about ADAM LAMBERT Day until we Glamberts started celebrating it since 2009 .. JMO!!

Adam Lambert Day?....IS there an Adam Lambert Day?...for Glamberts? First I heard of it. When?

I thought EVERY Day was Adam Lambert Day....it is for me!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I believe May 08 is Adam Lambert Day. It was announced in San Diego and was only meant for the year 2009 in San Diego, but us Glamberts have conveniently dropped the 2009. It will reappear this coming May 9th or I will be disappointed.

And Yes!, Nanbert, I too, think every day is Adam Lambert Day.

Dee R Gee said...

lollymop, I remember the Adam Lambert Day in San Diego. It was great celebration! I agree that we should continue the tradition. Adam gives us such joy!

Nanbert said...

Yes-s-s.. lollymop....May 8th or 9th....which was it? We'll declare it the official ADAM LAMBERT DAY from now on.

Anonymous said...

All my Googles are bringing up May 8th.
Just ran across a video that included the streaker that removed her top for Adam. Ha Ha Ha! (After getting side tracked for an hour on Adam's youtube Idol performances --- I gotta stay away from there)

I know I'm jumping the gun here, but I just watched JCSS and I thought it was fantastic. Everyone in it was excellent, including Brandon as Judas. Great voice and a really fine portrayal. I had my doubts about the show, but it was REALLY good! Hope some of you saw it!

Nanbert said...

I watched American Idol and was really impressed at the talent.....couldn't bring myself to watch JCSS ...just so heartsick that Adam wasn't in it....

Thanks lollymop...then May 8th it is! Is everyone on board for an ADAM LAMBERT DAY on May 8th?

Dee R Gee said...

Nanbert, I understand completely how you felt about not watching JCSS. (I feel the same way about watching Idol. I simply cannot do it.) I had to talk myself into watching JCSS. I decided I wanted to actually have an informed opinion. I was surprised at how good it was. John Legend is NOT a theater/type singer by any stretch, but he did just fine most of the time. Brandon was VERY good as Judas. Yes, I would have loved to see Adam get the part. Vocally, he would have been magnificent. Brandon might have more recent stage experience (Hamilton, I think) but I think Adam could have done it proud, too.

I was excited to see Alice Cooper pay King Herod, and he was GREAT! Herod has always been my favorite role in this show. he only has one song, but it's a deliciously evil one. He's so sneering and sarcastic and slimy towards Jesus. Alice NAILED it!

Adam will get his dream role at some point. I can feel it.

Magiclady said...

Thought JCSS was very good. Brandon was also good, but if Adam had played Judas I think he would have blown everyone away. Sometimes people are not hired because they are too good and don't meld with the rest of the cast!

Besides we really don't know why Adam is not doing Judas, maybe timing was the issue...

Dee R Gee said...

I'm sure Adam would have "melded" well with the cast. That show was full of excellent singers, and Adam has always been easy to work with. I don't think the singing was the issue with Adam not getting the role. Maybe it was his own choice. Maybe it was timing. He may never tell us the reason. It was a very good show. I'm glad I talked myself into watching it.

First of all, I hope that all who celebrate Easter (including myself) had a blessed and happy day! To those who don't, I too hope you all had a beautiful and fruitious Sunday! I had family over for Easter dinner and as soon as the last family member left, I made a mad dash to my living room to turn on my television set! I already had it on the ABC Channel, but I missed the first 20 ish minutes of American Idol, but during the commercial breaks I would switch to NBC to watch Jesus...Superstar. I missed about an hours worth of it, so I didn't get to see Alice Cooper, ugh! Now I had to put away the dinner leftovers, hate having food sitting out too long, so I missed parts of American Idol and parts of Jesus...Superstar! I will wait for a repeat, then I'll watch both shows in its entirety. Having said this, the few scenes I saw, were amazing, Sara (sorry can't remember the spelling to her last name), did a great job with her parts. Loved John Legend, impressed with the Brandon ? With his Judas, ( yes, I know, in my minds eye I saw Adam). Amongst my Facebook friends, it was a success, many high praises for all the actors, with comments like Sara "she nailed it!", and Alice " beyond my expectation!", and Judas was the character that stood out with "Judas is killing it!", from several viewers, to "Judas stole the show!"!!!!! Whoa, imagine Adam receiving these same comments! The country/world would of seen Adam KILL Judas as well. I know Adam will have another opportunity to be involved with a project of this kind!

Mirela. I saw the link to those painted Easter eggs from Romania, all exquisite by the way! Thanks Also I see here you posted the day Adam Lambert Day was proclaimed and adopted by Glamberts, thank you for the info. I remember on Idol seeing this, but I usually forget what day the Glamberts celebrated.

Nanbert said...

Dee R Gee...I should have explained that I DO plan to eventually watch JCSS...just not then. I know it will be available in some format. It's just that it's a once-in-a-lifetime program, if that makes any sense......unlike American Idol, that ran for seasons before and after Adam.

Since Adam returns so often...and speaks so warmly of....American Idol, I am still a bit surprised that so many Glamberts blame American Idol for Adam losing....to the point of "boycotting" it....obviously ADAM DOESN"T BLAME American Idol!

The vote tally was done independently, and American Idol had to go with what it was given. Even later, when it was discovered that there was some hanky-panky with the voting (special multi-calling phones handed out to some anti-Adam voters) there was never any way to know if that was enough to actually affect the final vote...it is doubtful in light of the following.

Remember, in the final three that season, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey were well known as straight Christian Conservatives, and when Danny Gokey was eliminated, his homophobic Christian voters went to Kris Allen.

Remember... Bill O'Reilly's articles during American Idol on Adam's homosexuality. as well as a newsweek writer, Steoodeh(?), and Danny Gokey's pastor( and reportedly many others) urging a "Christian vote", had a great effect on the final vote turning into a homophobic tidal wave against Adam.

A shameful upset!...YES!... but AMERICAN IDOL IS NOT TO BLAME. It gave Adam a fantastic platform...let him bend the rules...aided and promoted him in every way possible..."worked it out" as Adam described it.......and then was also FORCED to accept the final vote...just like us...just like Adam.

Goodness knows, since then, American Idol has given Adam a lot of guest-time, performing and kudos, mentoring, and even a stint on the judges table. American Idol considers Adam one of it's top contestants of all time...as do most honest reviewers and entertainment experts.

Adam, on the other hand, warmly credits American Idol for giving him the opportunity and exposure that catapulted him into the public eye...and is obviously very grateful.

Do we think that Adam would be fronting Queen now if American Idol hadn't brought them on to perform with Adam for the finale? Who knows? But that certainly "clinched" the deal.. it gave them a chance to discover "it felt right".

So, speaking of having "an informed opinion"..... in a sense, blaming and boycotting American Idol because Adam lost in Season 8, is just as unfair to American Idol as voting against Adam on Season 8 because he was gay was unfair to Adam!

The reason I don't watch is NOT because Adam lost. I couldn't care less about that. He is very successful despite that "loss." I don't watch AI because, to me, it requires an emotional commitment to a contestant. I simply don't have that in me anymore. I found Adam and I'm done. He's the one celebrity I support with all my heart. I cannot watch AI "casually" with no intention of actually supporting someone at the end. And I just don't have room in my life or my heart for that. I have a full "non-Adam" life, believe it or not. I'm sure there are lots of really good singers on Idol this year. There always are. To all who still enjoy AI, please have a great time each week. I'm just done with singing shows. I found the one I want to spend my energes on, and that's enough for me. :)

Anonymous said...

Beautifully said Dee R Gee. Until you said it I didn't realize that describes how I feel, too.

Nanbert said...

Dee R Gee... I'm trying to understand your unique point of view ....

Actually, I am not looking for another "Adam" either....nor was I "looking' for him when he arrived. I suspect you weren't either.

However, not to watch AI for fear of another emotional commitment is unusual, but as good a reason as any, I guess.

MY "dance card is full", too. LOL

Actually, I have a few in-person friends who are Adam fans who feel like I do about Idol. I just feel like I couldn't watch the show without really rooting for someone, and that somehow makes me feel really queasy. I know it sounds crazy, but that's how I feel. Two of my sisters are watching Idol and they enjoy it. They know I'm am Adam devotee. They like him, too, but are not crazy like I am. I'm just totally over the show emotionally. Of course, I will watch it if and when Adam is on in some capacity, and I hope he IS! I love the fact that he is only Idol alum to have appeared on the show every season since his own.

Thanks for listening. I needed the therapy! LOL

My 2 cents (maybe 3 or 4 cents.. :))) : We all have our reasons for watching/not watching American Idol, past and present. I started watching it with regularity the season BEFORE Adam was on. It was just for fun and for a "Fantasy Idol" thing my husband's office was doing. So we joined in. We started watching Idol for the same reason the next year, Season 8 in 2009, which certainly has had a lasting effect on me (and a lot more of us obviously!). Because well...Adam Lambert! But I am ETERNALLY THANKFUL to Idol for being there for Adam to make himself known in a big way...Obviously the rest is history. I've been a massive fan ever since I first saw & heard him on the Top 13 week. Instantly hooked. And still am. And whether Adam "won" season 8 is certainly a moot point, because he truly did.

So when this new reboot of Idol was announced, I, like most other former fans, old and new, thought "Yeah, right.....ha...no". And even when the judges were announced it seemed strange. But, hey, we watched the first show and we were actually pleasantly surprised. And we've watched most of the shows since then. So far so good anyway.

Which brings me to the "Jesus Christ Superstar LIVE" on ABC last night (Easter, April 1st). I've watched a few of the live TV musicals over the past few years (Rocky Horror Picture Show..because I like it, the movie is fun, and I've been to a totally nuts midnight live show.. and because again, Adam!), and more recently "A Christmas Story", again because I like the original movie and because Adam's friends Terrance Spencer and Holly Hyman had small parts in the show.. Always great to see familiar faces.. Anyway, I watched JCSS and pretty much liked it. They did a good job with it, it felt like a Broadway play/rock concert, which I'm always up for if it's well done. And that's what it started out as originally, a stage musical, a rock opera, before the first movie even came out.. And even before that, originally as a rock opera album by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. I've seen it previously as a live stage musical so I knew what to expect, although this new one was on a far grander scale. I would have loved to be there in the audience.

Some of Adam's fans refused to watch the show if Adam was not chosen for the part of Judas, who had some powerful songs which we all know Adam would excel at. And Adam loves this musical. And has for many years. He did reveal that he had been in discussions to play the part but for whatever reason, it didn't work out for him to do it. But in spite of the fact that Adam wasn't singing the part of Judas, I have to say the actor/singer who did the part, Brandon Victor Dixon, was excellent and was absolutely more than worthy. He's a Broadway performer with more than a little bit of experience, having performed in "Hamilton", etc..

We want our guy Adam to have the opportunity to show the world what he can do, we want him to get the parts AND recognition that we know he deserves. And I do have to say that he does get some amazing opportunities with the legendary band Queen. And that all started with American Idol. I can't honestly imagine I'll ever be as taken, be as impressed, to the point of having my life forever changed in some ways after discovering Adam through Idol. But I do still enjoy seeing the talented young people who are hoping to be as fortunate as Adam and some other contestants have been. Adam is always and will forever be, my favorite by far!! Because he is special, he is the wonderful multi-faceted, Adam.

But I digress.

Bottom line, we all have our reasons for watching/not watching Idol, or JCSS. Whatever works for each of us is okay by me.

So, I watched only the 2 night finale of Season 1 and 2 of American Idol! I watched everything starting Season 3 with Fantasia Barrino as the winner. Have been a fan of this show ever since! Season 8 was just the ultimate season, hands down! I am NOW watching the reboot and I love it! I'm satisfied with the judges chosen, I'm a fan of both Katy Perry and Lionel Ritchie, ( Lionel is a part of my young adult life), not only pop/rock, yes Disco too, I was/still a huge fan of R&B music. Lionel's Commodores, Earth Wind and Fire, KC and the Sunshine Band, music of that sort! I don't know much about Luke, but he does make me laugh with his comments, in a good way. I will continue to watch regardless if Adam makes an appearance or not! A lot of talented singers out there, who need to be heard. There is only 1 Adam Lambert, no one else can compete with him, they broke the mold when Adam was born! Looking forward for tonight, it's the live shows, so I have about 20 minutes to wait for the show to begin.

Nanbert thanks for the link on Adams loss on idol. First time reading it. Truthfully everyone was afraid of Adam! He is a force to be reckoned with!!!

Dee R Gee said...

Thanks, glitzy. I think you spoke for a lot of people. We all have our own feelings about these things, but we all have our love for Adam in common. No other singer will replace Adam in my heart. We have gotten to know him so well. We love his personality as much as his singing. It's a total package. I hope everyone here who watches Idol will enjoy it every week. And I'll tune in on "Adam Night" and flail along with the rest of you.

Dee R Gee said...

And glitzy, I just want to add that I think the most important part of your above post is where you say that we want him to get the parts AND the recognition that he deserves. That's it in a nutshell. He has so much untapped potential. And so many people still don't know much about him. That's why these roles that come along are so important. Each new opportunity is a potential breakthrough to the next one.

Nanbert said...

Glitzylady and Dee R Gee....adding my thoughts with yours (if there was any doubt) that we "want Adam to get the parts AND recognition he deserves".

Adam so occupies my thoughts on a daily basis that I am constantly startled at how many people still don't know him! How can that be?

I want so badly to SHARE him with everyone....to bring people the delight and joy of his voice...the pleasure of hearing/seeing music performed by a master....to know what live music is like without autotune....to know a kind, original and authentic man.......TO KNOW AN ICON!

My reason for not watching Idol or JCSS on Easter was because I was watching King of Kings .. Quo Vadis .. and The Ten Commandments on other channels the entire day! I've always loved those movies & I usually watch them when they are aired at Easter time .. also watched Come To the Stable in the early AM ... another one of my favorites ... not because of ADAM in any way .. just my preference!!

BTW ... I did watch a couple of clips from AI the other day & I was BORED!! It didn't seem like the same show to me ... nothing familiar at all ... so now I'll not feel like I'm a BSC Glambert for not watching anymore!! Unless ADAM is somehow asked to appear again this year .. I'm DONE!! TYVM!!

Lambert Outlaw. I watch the religious movies too, even tho I have the DVD to 10 Commandements (Charlton Heston), I still watch it on television. Lol. However, you got me thinking what you said about American Idol. I thought you were "gung ho" in watching it, watching these young singers wanting to achieve their dreams and make it big! I haven't found any of it boring, and you quit when the live shows are coming up. At the end of Sunday's show, they flashed a slew of some artists that will appear on idol in the following weeks. I know it's not the same, but I think I like this version because they cut out all those Clowns that were annoying all the past years. There are some great singers, and the best part for me, is that I can relax and enjoy the show without being nervous, anxious and don't have to vote! I've done all that with Adam and he is all that I need. NOT LOOKING for another phenomenal singer, I stopped looking when Adam won my heart and soul! I will continue to watch every Sunday and Monday, I'm not following anyone, just sitting down on my living room couch and enjoying the entertainment.
