The Voice Australia is past the blind auditions and gearing up for the knockouts. And to ensure viewers tune in, the show will bring on board its first celebrity guest in singer Adam Lambert.
The former American Idol 2009 runner-up is now a worldwide success, and he will drop in to give Boy George's team a boost.
'He knows what (you) are going through because he's been in a similar situation,' he added, addressing his 12 hopefuls. Adam had some advice for the contestants, with the unique artists encouraging everyone to just be themselves. The singer has gone from strength to strength since his own run on a singing competition reality show.

Grrrrr! Adam!!! What the heck, I was saying earlier that a photo of you and Boy George was from the XFactor and now I'm reading you're making an appearance on the Voice of Australia? I consider The Voice, American version an enemy of American Idol! Don't care much for that show but yet you'll be on the Ausrtalian version, UGH! What are you going to do? After Saturday's show you're flying out to OZ land and then take a red eye back to New York for Monday, right? Or are you taping a segment like today to be aired on Sunday? Oh the confusion!!! Hahaha
Where is Adam right now? On land...over the sea...in the air? Haw haw haw! None the wiser.
His instagram is recorded as 1 hour ago...so he's in the air? bound for NYC...
It would help if we knew exactly when this episode of The Voice was taped and when it will be shown (which looks like it will be May 6?) Adam taped this when he was there finishing the last QAL tour. Boy George asked him to come and be on the show. Adam is here in the US.

Adam is in the episode which was pre-recorded when he was performing in Australia earlier this year with Queen. This episode will be screened on Sunday May 6 in Australia commencing at 7:00pm AEST.
There were a lot of snide remarks about Adam being friends with Boy George. Saying that He shouldn't hang around with him, it would hurt his career. Well we see now, that Adam is nice to most everyone, and they remember him. Sure glad Boy George remembered Adam being nice to him, and they became friends, and it seems to have paid off. Nice gig for Adam. Nice that Adam was in the right place and at the right time, thousands of miles from home, who knew?
I don't think the GLAAD events do much for Adam, but shows like the Voice and Idol should really kick start his career again as he finishes his album, and continues with QUAL for a few months. Also hoping to hear the Las Vegas gig dates soon.
Helloo Anne Marie! You make a lot of sense and rather original at that.
Only one thing, Adam wants to help, and be close to his community; he is the only visible face and voice at this time that can reach millions because people want to hear him sing and music arouses people's minds and hearts. I think that's Adam's way of giving back by using his celebrity platform to inform and to lead by example not just words and no action. So it doesn't matter to him if GLAAD will eventually help him or not in his career. I heard in his recent interview he's doing a documentary on LGBT or something like that. Well, at least they are the first to offer him a film role which might work in his favour for future acting roles.
I've just read that Adam will be a mentor to one of the contestants on The Voice Australia this Sunday.
Hi fluttsp, So Adam's mentoring this Sunday on the Voice will be current and new? We know he is not in OZ, so I'm confused. And the other thing he taped months ago is not him being a mentor, but something different that they spliced into this current show? Sorry I'm so dumb.

The first few rounds on The Voice are prerecorded months in advance. So Adam's segment was recorded then. They don't actually go live until people get to vote.

Mirela... the link you posted was dated 2015....so that was from a earlier/different appearance on The Voice than the current one with Boy George.
Anne Marie....it's strange that people said hanging out with Boy George would hurt Adam's career. Boy George had a "bad" reputation many years ago....when homophobia was at its height..... SIMPLY because he was gay. But since Adam is gay, too, I don't see what the fuss is about now.
However, some people only care to remember the word "bad" ....and not think about the "why" or "what" the "bad" related to. Many people never realized, or cared, how talented he was.
Fortunately, Boy George seems to be experiencing a comeback as homophobia is slowly receeding into the background. Good for him.... he had a rough life in his early years...but he stuck to his guns... was openly gay and completely himself when it was NOT acceptable....very gutsy!...an original GROUNDBREAKER!
I'm glad he and Adam are friends.
